DermOrganic Hair Care

dermorganic_logoiliketotalkalot iliketotalkblog review

My shower is on product overload with the amount of shampoo and conditioners I get to try.  That may sound like a complaint, but really, I love having a selection to rotate through.  My fiance jokes that I have enough stuff to fill a small beauty supply store and I always tell him if he saw what other bloggers posted he would eat his words!

Since I colored my hair a few months back, I really make sure that I stick to sulfate-free options and hair treatments that will keep my color looking fresh and not dried out. I did some balayage when I moved to Orange County and my ends need extra care with all the heat styling I do.

Lately I’ve been on a DermOrganic kick.  I got a few of their products to test out and I am very impressed with the results. My hair feels nice, dries fairly quickly out of the shower, and has some shine. What else do you need, really?

dermorganic daily conditioning shampoo

I’ll start with the Daily Conditioning Shampoo first.  It’s sulfate-free so it doesn’t strip hair, and its made with facial cleansers that uses a special blend of EFA-Lipid and amino acids that nourish the hair and scalp. The formula also has Omega-6, Panthenol B5 and Rice Keratin to moisturize and strengthen the hair. Also,it can also be used as a body cleanser if you like to do the all-in-one thing as well.

What I noticed first about this shampoo is that is comes out very thick – practically like a body cream that doesn’t pour, but sits in your hand until it’s applied. So you’ll never have to worry about wasting product or it pouring out like crazy.  It also creates a good amount of foam for being sulfate-free which usually goes hand in hand. it also rinses well and doesn’t have an overpowering scent.

dermorganic intensive masque

The Masque Intensive Hair Repair Deep Conditioner worried me. My hair is fine and sometimes “intensive” hair masks leave my hair feeling heavy and flat–but not this one. DermOrganics Masque uses amino acids to repair and seal the cuticle of the hair, essentially filling in the cracks with amino acids and smoothing the hair from the inside out.  It is recommended to use the masque 2-3 per week and leave on for at least one minute to reap the benefits.  I actually have been using this every other day the past couple weeks and leave it on while I shave my legs.  I am happy to report that it has not weighed down and my hair still dries pretty quickly unlike some other masks I’ve used before. I do steer clear of my roots through, in fact I only put it on the “ponytail” portion of my hair to prevent that from happening (just in case).

This conditioning masque also pumps out real thick – thicker than I’ve seen with any traditional shampoos or conditioners, but I like it because it makes it easier to control application.

dermorganic-leave-in

The next product that I’ve been using is the Leave-in treatment with Argan Oil. I absolutely LOVE the orange-y scent of this product.  On days that I skip conditioning and just shampoo I 100% rely on this to keep my hair soft and manageable.  The oil has a little thickness to it so it doesn’t pour out like crazy.  I use about a dime to nickel sized worth of product, rub it between my palms and then finger rake through my hair . I do not put near my scalp unless I am slicking back a bun or ponytail. I love the shine with this product though, it really does the job while making my hair feel healthy. The treatment is enriched with Omega-6, Lipids, Antioxidants and Vitamin E to restore moisture and seal the cuticle while helping protect it from thermal damage (hello, flat iron and curlers).

I can’t say I have any dislikes about the DermOrganic hair care line, it all seems to work for my long, color-treated fine hair.  Have you tried the DermOrganic line?  They also have skincare!

  1. Hey Claudia, haven’t DermOrganic yet but it’s great to know that there are more sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner options out there.. and with argan oil to boot!

And it’s nice to know that it works with fine hair – it can be too delicate and prone to frizz. Have you used this product for long? or was it just for this review? I just want to know how this product fares in the long run. My hair tends to get used to a certain shampoo/conditioner after a while so I need to switch brands every now and then, otherwise I’d get thick flaky scalp (despite using only organic & sulfate-free stuff on my hair)

    • I did use DermOrganic for a very long time. I do like to switch around because I like trying different things, but it was great for my hair! I’d say its worth a shot purchasing because I did end up buying more after my review products were gone– they were that good!
