Di Blasi Cosmetics

In this day in age, we are beginning to see a trend of moving toward healthier options in skincare and cosmetics and I absolutely love it!  Being pregnant, it’s now more important than ever to choose clean, natural products that will not negatively effect me or baby. However, just being pregnant isn’t the only time we should begin to consider organic, natural products…it should be all the time to keep all of us free of unnecessary chemicals in everything we use on our bodies.  Lately, I’ve been testing out a few items from Di Blasi Cosmetics, a luxury organic, natural (and cruelty free) skincare line based in Italy and I’m here to report back to you on how it worked out for me!

Di Blasi Cosmetics is the creation of Tatiana Puglisi who also thought going as natural as possible was the way to go after watching a close family member suffer from cancer.  After years of trials and tribulations, she refined the formulas to the fabulous products we see today, a multitasking makeup removing butter, a moisturizing cream, and a exfoliating bar soap.  I don’t use bar soaps often so I requested to try the makeup removing butter and moisturizing cream because these are two things I would use very often, if not on a daily basis.

The Butter Multitasking Makeup Remover is a luxe, skin conditioning treatment that comes in a heavy glass jar with scoop.  If you want to give yourself a little bit of extra luxury, you can also purchase the glass shell the jar can sit in so it looks super pretty on your vanity. What drew me to this product the most is that it is suitable for all skin types – even oily and combo which might shy away from trying something that appears to be a heavy butter.  The product appears in solid form in the jar, not cream and for sanitary reasons you definitely want to use the scoop.  I took less than a dime size scoop out and rubbed all over my face and massaged it into the skin.  Sure enough, mascara and eye makeup began to break up, and my foundation was lifted into the buttery layer on my skin.  I massaged it all in for about a minute or two and wondered how does this stuff come off?!  There are two ways, using dry cotton rounds to wipe it all away, or washing with a suggested cleansing milk. I didn’t have cleansing milk, but I do have my regular variety of face washes and opted to go the water and cleanser route to remove all traces of left over makeup and the butter. Let me tell you…not only did this remove ALL makeup (mascara, shadow, concealer and foundation), but it also left my skin feeling INCREDIBLY soft. Like baby skin soft. Which makes things difficult because with your face so clean the last thing you want to do is be pawing at it with your hands.  Let me reiterate. SO. SOFT! My skin felt moisturized, balanced and not needing any extra steps. To what do I owe the new found bay softness to? Tatiana’s blend of mango butter, shea butter, Calendula flower oil, Jojoba oil and beeswax. I never thought something with beeswax would make my skin feel like this, but she found a way!

di blasi cosmetics prickly pear and manna cream review by iliketotalkblog

Next I tried the Prickly Pear and Manna Cream after washing my face (with the butter and then a cleanser), as well as after a nice steamy shower to see how it worked in both instances. Suitable for day or night, this cream absorbs quickly into the skin and has a light, beautiful scent to it.  The full size comes in an airless pump and can also be purchased with the luxury ceramic shell display if you choose. I found that if you use too much it does take a bit longer to absorb so using a little bit at a time is the best way to go. This moisturizer left behind no greasy or heavy feel, and allowed me to put my makeup on within 10 minutes.  The prickly pear in the formula has anti-inflammatory properties while the manna (a sap) is thought to soothe, moisturize, and have anti-aging properties.  Sodium PCA and Hyaluronic acid aid in keeping the skin moisturized and holding on to that moisture while avocado oil, mango butter, shea butter and allantoin also work to keep the skin soothed and protected.

Overall I am very pleased with the two products I got to try from Di Blasi Cosmetics. I found them to be extremely moisturizing without suffocating the skin which I thought might happen with the addition of butters being used on my face. The packaging feels fancy and makes you feel like you are really giving yourself a true treat from Italy to savor.

How CUTE are these soon to be released mini bar soaps? They look like miniature presents or candy!

Do I give Di Blasi Cosmetics a thumbs up? I sure do! Even for combo (sometimes sensitive) skin types such as my own.  No break outs, no unwanted results, just soft, moisturized skin!

  1. Beware of HORRIBLE customer service. I was thrilled to order this foundation.. It took a MONTH to ship, was the wrong color, and I’ve been trying for a week to reach a live person and have yet to get through, or have any of my emails or voicemails returns. Inexcusable. Beyond disappointed.
