Get Clean With Plaine Products

Plaine Products review by iliketotalkblogEnvironmentally safe, cruelty free products

Have you ever taken a look around your bathroom and realized how many products you had that were housed in plastic? The creators of Plaine Products did, and set out to change the way people live by creating a line of natural bath products using sustainable packaging. Environmentally friendly products that are not only cruelty-free and vegan, but made to be effective and biodegradable so it stays safe for the environment.

I was sent their body wash, shampoo and conditioner to try. I was happy to hear that not only was it color-safe for my newly colored hair, but also kid safe since my daughter takes baths at the same time and would be around any products that I use.

The formulas are made with a base of organic aloe vera juice that contains vitamins and 8-essential amino acids to keep hair and skin looking and feeling it’s best. All of the products are naturally scented with rosemary, mint and vanilla which blossoms in the shower. I wasn’t sure what that combo would smell like but overall it smells quite minty and I love it. The scent even lingers well after the shower which I enjoy.

What’s really cool about the brand is the fact that the bottles are actually aluminum refillable/reusable bottles. The bottles are large and will last for quite a while and are sturdy so they can take a beating if they fall over in the shower — just watch your foot, haha. Aluminum was chosen because it’s easy to make reusable by sterilization and strong enough for multiple uses. It’s also a material that can be completely recycled without a loss of quality and less energy needed to make that happen!

So what happens when you finally finish up your bottles? You can ship them back in the eco-friendly packaging they sent you the bottles in (remember to rinse them out and replace the original caps the bottles came with) and Plaine Products will take care of the rest!

Plaine Products review by iliketotalkblogHow long will the bottles last you? I did mention earlier that the bottles are pretty large. I’d say they were on the large economy size you’d normally see with big, cheap bottles of shampoo or body wash, but just made with aluminum. The company says they should last you anywhere from two to four months. They also have travel size aluminum bottles which is helpful and will fit in a toiletry bag much better!

I was really surprised by the quality of the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I was a bit nervous that the quality would be all in the packaging and not in the actual product but there was a lot of attention to detail put into every aspect of the brand. The shampoo suds very well, smells great and doesn’t strip my hair. The conditioner leaves my color processed hair feeling silky and rinses away easily and the body wash produces a nice lather that leaves my skin feeling moisturized. The pumps on the bottles work well, the packaging that the products were ship in are sturdy and the products look nice over all!

J.F Lazartigue : Anti-Aging Hair Care

J.F Lazartigue : Anti-Aging Hair Care review by iliketotalkblogiliketotalkalot iliketotalkblog review

J.F Lazartigue is one of those brands that continue to circle back into my life over the years and for good reason – their product has never failed to impress. I’ve tried many of their products from their orchid shine shampoo, to their amazing soy milk strengthening line, their luxe Essential duo, and even their hair color and hair loss products! I always end up going back to their soy milk line which literally transforms my long, fine hair but recently I was invited to sample their newest product line, The Ultra-Regenerating Anti-Aging line.

J.F Lazartigue is one of the first hair care lines that utilizes skincare ingredients in each of their products. Each product was carefully formulated to repair, protect and improve the look and feel of your hair with each wash. Their latest anti-aging line harnesses the power of hyaluronic acid, collagen and keratin to nourish mature hair while fighting the signs of oxidation.

The Ultra-Regenerating Anti-Aging line consists of three products, a hair mask, a washing cream and conditioner — all recommended to be used together for it’s complimentary benefits.

With most any other brand, I would use a hair mask as the last step in the shower, but with J.F Lazartigue there is a different approach. The Ultra-Regenerating Mask is to be use first and allowed to sit on the hair and scalp for a good 30 minutes. I usually apply the mask and then take my time laying out all my after shower products and what I plan to wear after during this time. This mask works to strengthen hair and by plumping and filling it in any weak areas with hyaluronic acid, keratin and collagen.

I think follow with Ultra Regenerating Washing Creme and finish with the Ultra Regenerating Conditioner. Each step of this system works to build on the previous by strengthening the hair from the inside out. I think the mask does a phenomenal job on it’s own, but like to use the full treatment for best results. There’s no other way to put it — my hair feels awesome after using all three products. It feels thick, smooth, and healthy.

The J.F Lazartigue Ultra Regenerating line is an investment in your hair. Much like how you would invest in good skincare, good hair care products make a difference in the look and feel of your hair. Think about what your hair goes through on a daily basis – heat styling? Environmental pollution? Breakage from pony holders? Why not treat your hair to a little TLC?

You can find J.F Lazartigue products online or at boutique beauty supply locations. To find out more about the brand, you can visit their website or follow them on Facebook or Instagram.

Dermorganic Color Care Collection

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogiliketotalkalot iliketotalkblog reviewIf you’ve ever colored your hair you know how beneficial it is to use the right products to keep the color vibrant and healthy looking. In my younger years I used to bleach my hair until it was like straw and never thought past using a deep conditioner every once in awhile to save my hair. Well, that ongoing abuse lead to severe hair breakage and me growing a mohawk in my teens that any girlfriend from high school would clearly remember. Now that I’m older and wiser, I look at every product I use on my hair and skin with a critical eye and while the classic line from Dermorganic has always worked great, the Color Care Collection is just what I needed.

I have a balayage that is almost grown out, but I’m still babying because I like the highlights that have lingered in the lower portion of my hair. The lightened ends are more prone to split ends, breakage and dulling since they’ve been chemically processed so using gentle products that offer additional protection are the first I grab for in the shower.

The Dermorganic Color Care Collection is vegan, cruelty-free, made with nourishing organic ingredients and includes UV protectors made from sunflower and grapeseed extracts to help keep colored hair shiny, moisturized and vibrant. It’s also free of sulfates, salts, sodium chloride and artificial preservatives while remaining pH balanced to keep the cuticle sealed for a reflective, shiny appearance.

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogSometimes sulfate-free shampoos lack in the lathering department but Dermorganic’s Color Care Sulfate Free Shampoo works up some good suds to clean hair and rinse away easily. The scent is fruity and delicious. I can’t quite put my finger on what the scent is, but I like it.

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogI have very long, fine hair that always needs conditioning to keep it tangle free. I’m one of those people that wish the conditioner bottle was twice as big as the shampoo bottle. There’s just never enough! Luckily I don’t need to pile it on with Dermorganic.  Dermorganic’s Color Care Conditioner gives my hair a second dose of argan oil, lipids, rice amino acids, sunflower and grapeseed extracts while leaving it silky soft and easy to comb without tearing or causing further breakage. I also really love that the fruity scent continues to leave my hair smelling extra delicious.

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogAnd, although I don’t have time to heat style my hair that often, I do I like to use a thermal spray to give some added protection from being scorched with a blow dryer or curling iron. Dermorganic’s 8-Way Thermal Spray works wonders to help in detangling hair while offering heat protection up to 450 degrees. It doesn’t stop there though; it also works to fight frizz, strengthen damaged hair and guard against day to day pollutants that dull our hair over time.  Just a few spritzes are needed to help keep my hair easy to manage, and I felt like it helped in blow drying my hair faster than I expected. My hair felt incredibly smooth after blow drying and kept me wanting to run my fingers through it for the rest of the day, even in hot, sticky So Cal weather.

Dermorganic Color Care products can be found at your local ULTA or found at their website and retail for $18 each in a generously sized bottle. To find out more about the brand you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram for tips, giveaways and hair inspo.
