IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Compact

I’m an owner of several different foundations, BB and CC Creams because I can never pick a favorite and always like to explore new products that hit the market. My skin has also changed since having a kid so I find myself trying out new combos of primers and makeup to see what works best with my skin that went from oily to mostly normal/sensitive-reactive. On top of that, being in my mid-thirties, my skin is drier in general so it requires a more consistent moisturizing and anti-aging routine to keep up appearances. I’ve always been a fan of IT Cosmetics since learning about them long ago in a NewBeauty Testtube, but it was only recently that I got my hands on their latest foundation, IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Compact and fell in love.

Prior to using this new foundation, I was mainly swapping between IT Cosmetics O2 Foundation, and Pur Cosmetics Hydra Fluid Water Serum. Both work great, and I still like them very much but I was intrigued by IT Cosmetics claim that this new foundation was had better buildable coverage (full coverage, in fact), while offering all the skincare benefits of their latest skin cream, Confidence In A Cream. It’s available in seven shades and is suitable for even sensitive skin.

I didn’t know really what that was either, but it includes a SPF 50+ along with their anti-aging Armour Rejuvenating Concentrate that supposed to improve the look of your skin once applied. Were taking improving moisture levels, the size of pores, hiding discoloration, and increased radiance.

I kinda dab,dab and swirl and work on different spots of my face with the recommended brush that IT Cosmetics makes; their Heavenly Skin Smoothing Complexion Brush #704. If I see areas on my face that need a bit more I just layer it on and continue to smooth it all out. This brush is everything, guys. It’s quite an investment in my opinion as I’ve never spent that kind of money on a single brush ($48 to be exact), but I can tell you now that it’s 100% worth it. My foundation applies flawlessly. No streaks, no excess product left behind, and looks quite fancy on my counter.

My skin feels very moisturized still, but not greasy at all, and I love that it hides everything I need in a natural way. I think this would work best for non-oily skin types as it already has that deep moisturized feel to it that oily skin may not like.

Right now I’m working on removing some hyper-pigmentation and have dark under eyes so this works great when I need that extra help. I’ve been using a sample of their Bye Bye Under Eye Illuminating product and they work fantastic for hiding those signs of being a tired mama.

You can find IT Cosmetics in several places like ULTA, QVC and right at their website. The foundation will run you $38 and is not refillable. It does come with a mirror and cosmetic sponge but I highly suggest you invest in the brush if you can — it’s quite the added treat.

My Latest Must Have: Chella Eyebrow Cream

chella eyebrow cream review by iliketotalkblogiliketotalkalot iliketotalkblog review

I love when I come across a product that makes me actually say wow and reach for it everyday.  I’ll admit, since becoming a mom, my makeup days are becoming less and less. I work from home and watch my baby, I take her to swim class, the grocery store, the gym and out for walks, but that about sums up my outings during the week. So my makeup bag sits there waiting for the weekends when I have more time to dress up and look nice.  But lately, I’ve been doing a little something for myself, even on those weekdays when only the grocery check out clerk will see me, and that’s my brows with Chella’s Eyebrow Cream.

Doesn’t everyone else feel a little more put together with their brows on and hey, maybe even a little mascara? I feel like I look less “mom tired” and more “ ready for the day”.

chella eyebrow cream review by iliketotalkblogI was already a fan of their brow products and used their pencil on the regular until I was introduced to this eyebrow cream and was like, whoa. The pencil is super slim and allows you to draw in a very natural looking brow, but what I love MORE about the brow cream is how strong my brows now look. I also chose a slightly different color this time (tantalizing taupe instead of beautiful blonde) which gave me a slightly bolder look giving my brows a little oompf.

The eyebrow cream comes with a precision angled brush that you dip into a mini pot that is housed in the base of the brush. A little goes a long way so I lightly dab the brush into the cream and wipe any excess on the side of the cap.

I tend to “outline” and define the peak of the brow first and then go back, fill it in, and blend, blend, blend. If I was ever a little heavy handed I just take a spoolie and brush it out a bit. I find that my brows also stay put and look on point to the very end of the day – even through a nap or a workout session. To define my brows just a bit more I follow with Chella’s highlighter pencil in “ivory lace” on the brow bone and just above the tail of my brows.

You can see from the photo below just how much of a difference using this brow cream makes! Left side, no eye brow makeup — Right side, complete.

The eyebrow cream comes in six different colors that flatter just about everyone. It truly is a long-lasting formula that has proven to be budge-proof throughout my day. It’s also pretty convenient since it includes the brush and cream all in one product.

Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color

If you follow my blog, you already know that I’m a huge fan of the brand Nudestix. Easy to use, cruelty-free line that makes the your no makeup look seriously on point.  I always have a handful of their lip, eye and brow products in my makeup bags and have been using them almost daily for the past couple of years.

I was invited to share a few colors from their Magnetic Eye Color product line that comes in 10 matte and 9 luminous colors. These all-in-one pencils are long-lasting, budge proof and quick drying. I’m definitely someone who doesn’t have time to touch up makeup through out the day so long lasting is very important to me.

nudestix magnetic eye color review by iliketotalkblogWhat’s great about these pencils is that you don’t need to use a separate primer because it’s already included in the formula. It Each pencil comes with it’s own cute little travel tin that has a mirror and included sharpener so you never left with a stubby pencil. Depending on the color you choose they can be used as liners, full eyelid color, or highlighters!

The colors I received are Terra (Matte Nude Brown), Queen Olive (Luminous Gold Green), and Taupe (Matte Brown Grey). Each color glides on like butter. Seriously, one of the most smooth applications of eye makeup ever. And depending on how bold you want the color you can leave it or smudge it. I tend to lean for more natural, less bold looks so everything gets smudged. Just make sure you don’t wait too long to smudge because it locks in place pretty quickly!

I paired these looks with Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil and their Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm (Rebel)- one of the most comfortable lip products I keep in my makeup bag.

There are so many gorgeous colors in this line that I have my eye on. Particularly the Twilight which looks like a grey gold to me, and Putty and Moon, two light matte colors that work for easy daytime looks for me. Each pencil retails for $24 and can be found at Sephora, Urban Outfitters and Blue Mercury.
