K Beauty From Caprice Clinical

Caprice Clinical Thelavicos review by iliketotalkblogBeing that I get introduced to so many different beauty products out there, it’s surprising I haven’t tried much from the K Beauty (Korean Beauty) market. I remember when BB Creams started to gain momentum here in the U.S, and trying a few brands I heard about, but I never ventured past that single product into the world of their innovative skincare. K Beauty is known to have some of the most advanced formulas in the world, creating products that are effective and appeal to the senses. Seeing that there wasn’t enough effective options out there, Caprice Clinical brought the best in K Beauty to offer by bringing Thelavicos to the states.

Available exclusively online and through professional skincare therapy providers, Thelavicos offers the very best in clinical skincare with a very luxurious feel. If you’ve ever been to a derm or med spa, you know they can be super picky about what they promote — so having Thelavicos chosen as something an office will carry gives it some extra weight in my book.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on two of their products to see what makes them different from the rest. The Thelavicos Nutrition HydroGel Mask and the BioRepair Wrinkle Eye Cream ended up on my doorstep a couple weeks ago and I’ve tried them both out and wanted to share my thoughts with you guys.

Caprice Clinical Thelavicos review by iliketotalkblog

First up was the Nutrition HydroGel Mask. To be honest, I’m usually a bigger fan for masks you apply with brush or your fingers. Sheet masks don’t always fit well and you have to worry if it’ll stay on for the recommended time for it to do it’s work. I will say that this mask fit WAY better than most because it comes in two pieces, and it’s made of a pliable hydrogel material instead of flimsy paper. Because of the durability of the mask, the packaging suggests you can use it up to two times, by carefully placing it back in the pouch and then sealing in a large ziplock to avoid it drying out. This mask is extra juicy! Not only is the gel soaked with “the good stuff”, there is ample amount left in the pouch to give you that second mask time and then some. I was able to squeeze out the remnants and use on extra parts (neck, hands) a couple of times. The mask promises to give you that refreshed, hydrated and plumped look we all live for — and I can say that it 100% left my skin looking and feeling better after using it. After taking off the mask I could immediately notice that those fine lines on under my eyes and on the high points of my cheekbones were flattened out and hydrated. I have deep lines on my forehead and while it didn’t make those disappear, my skin looked incredibly healthy. I’m not familiar with the key ingredients in this mask, but they definitely do something for my skin. Soybean Ferment Extract, Niacinamide, Palmotoyl Tripeptide and Red Ginseng are just a few of the powerhouse ingredients in this mask. Final verdict. This is MUST TRY. You definitely notice a difference when you take of the mask and you will want to use every drop of that liquid gold on your skin because it works!

Caprice Clinical Thelavicos review by iliketotalkblogNext up was the BioRepair Wrinkle Eye Cream. I will confess that I usually forget eye cream. I put on so many other serums and things that eye cream usually falls to the wayside. But being that the mask worked so well for me I was a little more than intrigued to try out the eye cream. This cream promises to fight wrinkles, offer a brightening effect and firm up the delicate skin around the eye area. The ingredient deck lists some things that I was curious to look up, so I thought I would share with you guys what I found out.  Edelweiss flower — known as one of the best natural anti-aging ingredients out there and works as an antioxidant, skin plumper and moisturizer.  Snow Lotus extract works as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that nourishes tired skin (hello, new mom under-eye-bags!!), and Soybean Ferment Extract which is nutrient dense component that soothes and replenishes the skin.

Caprice Clinical Thelavicos review by iliketotalkblogI used this cream morning and night — not even using a full pump – more like half a pump for both eyes and found that it absorbed rather quickly and did not interfere with foundation or concealer. Sometimes creams will break down you makeup and you’ll have those creases of excess makeup under your eyes –well, not with this cream. Verdict: definitely a useful product if you remember to actually use eye cream. I hope I will remember now!

Crystal Hills Organics Review

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogI’ve always enjoyed trying out different bath and body products and have recently been reaching for Crystal Hills Organics body serum and bath salts. Crystal Hills Organics is a cruelty-free, Canadian based skincare brand that combines the healing power of crystals with the beautifying abilities of natural ingredients. The founder, Andrea, made sure to formulate her products by using organically grown ingredients wherever possible for the purest, and most luxurious skincare treats she could offer.

Andrea sent me a couple of products to try and with perfect timing. I will admit that I usually am drawn to skincare products that are heavily scented with tropical fragrances — however it seems those fragrances have turned against me and caused a bit of my rash on my legs. I needed to switch to something with a simpler ingredient list and decided it was a good time to give Crystal Hills Body Serum a try.

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogThere are four versions and I chose Moon Goddess Body Serum. Moon Goddess has notes of jasmine, frankincense and neroli essential oils that smells beautiful but not overpowering in any way. The serum is extremely lightweight on the skin and uses a blend of botanicals and skin loving oils that nourish, hydrate and protect the skin with the power of antioxidants. Meadowfoam oil and Elderberry Extract are two antioxidants I was excited to see in the formula since I know they are really beneficial to the body. Each bottle of body serum also includes a small piece of clear quartz which is thought to harmonize the chakras and balance energy. I will be honest — I am not familiar with any of that stuff, but sounds good to me! Balance is never a bad thing!  My first impression of the serum was that this left my skin velvety soft. I’ve never had an oil based product produce that type of feel before and was highly impressed. The oils absorb very quickly and soothed my irritated legs within a couple days. I shave every day so an after-bath moisturizing product is a must– and I’ve been using this EVERY DAY since I’ve received it!

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogAndrea offered to send me a second product when she saw that I loved the body serum so much so we decided on the matching bath salts!  The salts are seriously ALMOST too pretty to use! It comes with a small muslin bag to pour a small amount of salt in to soak in your bath. I realized after receiving that I still take baths with my little girl and wasn’t sure about using bath soaks with essential oils in them with her sitting in it for long periods of time — so I decided to treat myself to a warm foot soak and pedicure after her bedtime. I used a taller bucket so I could really fill it up and added the little baggie to the warm water. I loved the aroma it produced and was very relaxing as I watched a little TV at night. Crystal Moon Goddess Bath Salts uses a variety of salts like Solar Dried sea salt and Dead Sea Salt and MSM to relax the muscles, reduce inflammation and detox the skin. I’ve never thought to give my foot soak a hand full of bath salts before and I feel like I’ve been missing out! I may need to give my daughter an earlier bath so I can give this a try without her around!

**EDIT — I found out we CAN use the salts with my daughter in the bath so we’re going to give it a go! **

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogI highly recommend these products if you’re looking for a way to treat yourself (or another) to a fabulous skincare treat. I only wish the matching body scrub was available at the same time since I’m a huge fan of scrubs!

Original Sprout Baby Products Review

Original Sprout Baby Products review by iliketotalkblog

Thank you to 17th St Beauty Supply for gifting me these products!

Naturally, because I’m a beauty product fanatic I spend extra time seeking out things my baby can use that will be healthy, gentle and effective. My daughter has fine hair, and semi-sensitive skin that requires nourishing products to keep her hair and skin baby soft and comfortable, so when I was gifted a few products from Original Sprout I was excited to see how they would work for her. My biggest concerns for her are: would it help with dry patches? Would it cause breakouts, and would it leave her fine hair greasy or heavy.

Original Sprout review by iliketotalkblogOriginal Sprout specializes in producing an entire line of products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without questionable parabens, nanoparticles, sulfates or propylene glycol.  In addition to that, they steer clear of potential allergy inducing and hormone disrupting ingredients like lavender, tea tree, gluten, soy or dairy components, and made for both children and adults to enjoy.

My daughter takes 3-4 baths a week. I don’t like to over do it, but always make sure she gets a bath after her swim classes to rinse off any chlorine from the pool . She doesn’t need lots of suds, and quite frankly, she’ll try to eat them if they’re there, so I appreciate a formula that isn’t TOO bubbly.

Original Sprout hair and body wash review by iliketotalkblog

The Hair & Body Babywash is delicately scented and comes in a flip top tube so you can easily use it one-handed while handling a baby in the bathtub. We haven’t had any issues with wash getting into her eyes, but I’m relieved to know it’s a super gentle formula just in case some gets on her face. Not all baby products are tear-free, did you know that?  I love a two in one product like this since I keep her bathcare products right at our kitchen sink. It just makes things easier.

Original Sprout deep conditioner review by iliketotalkblog

I love a good hair conditioner but wasn’t sure my baby needed one, I mean she doesn’t have long hair and “deep conditioner” sounded like it might be a bit heavy for someone with barely any hair. But Original Sprout’s Deep Conditioner made Zoe’s hair even softer than it normally is, and rinsed away easily. I kind of feel this is a special treat product to use–not every time, but every once in a while. I think it’ll be great when her hair gets longer and we have to worry about tangles and perfecting a smooth ponytail.

Original Sprout scrumptious baby cream review by iliketotalkblog

After every bath we cover her head to toe with a body cream and Original Sprout’s Scrumptious Baby Cream was a hit in our home.  It’s the perfect time for me to give her little legs, feet and back a mini massage while keeping her skin perfectly moisturized. It smells nice, is non-greasy, and contains soothing zinc and calendula to keep her skin happy. I also learned their formula uses rosemary which helps repel insects naturally which is an added bonus.

Original Sprout natural styling balm review by iliketotalkblog

And for those days when we want her hair (or mine) to look extra good we use a dab of their Natural Styling Balm which helps hold hair in place without a sticky or crunchy feel. I love to do a side part on her hair and comb her bangs to the side. So little is needed to keep that freshly combed look and helps hold my whispies back when I wear a mom bun.

Original Sprout face and body sunscreen review by iliketotalkblogAnd while Summer just came to an end, I do live on the California coast so we pretty much still have bright sunny days that still require sunscreen. Original Sprout Face & Body SPF 27 Sunscreen worked great for both Zoe and I. I can’t stand sunscreen that you “feel” on, and thick sunscreens are difficult to put on a wiggly baby. This one spread easily and rubbed in quickly. The formula relies on Zinc for protection, and didn’t cause any breakouts for me which is a big bonus that both mommy and daughter can use.

Original Sprout review by iliketotalkblogWould I buy Original Sprout after these gifts are gone? Absolutely! In fact, I have my eye on their new Protein Hair Mist and Some other shampoo and conditioner for myself.  Everything smelled very nice and left my baby’s hair and skin nice and soft.
