Review – European Wax Center Ingrown Hair Serum

Summer is definitely coming at a fast pace and with that comes bikini and shorts season. We have a love-hate relationship though, and I’m about to tell you why…

So really whats my main concern with the summer? Baring more flesh that I refuse to show unless completely smooth. I don’t always remember having trouble with ingrown hairs but it seems to have become an issue within the last couple of years. I’ve tried shaving, waxing and epilating – all depending on what part of the body I’m dealing with. I’ve had good results with all of them – but one thing that I do have to deal from time to time is nasty ingrown hairs!

European Wax Center Ingrown Hair Serum

Ingrowns can be painful, and lets face it – not attractive on freshly shaved legs. (um, is that a pimple on your leg? :/ ) Aside from trying to keep freshly shaved or waxed parts moisturized – you want something to keep them smooth as well. Well, I finally found it. The ingrown hair serum from European Wax Centers does everything I need it to. BUY HERE

There are other products out there that claim to help with ingrown hairs, but some of them just downright sting to use, or don’t work at all. And while I figured I may have to deal with a little bit of stinging to get super smooth legs — I am so glad I found something better!

The serum comes out of a pump tube that lets you use every little last drop so you get your monies worth! It’s seriously 1 to 2 pumps per leg after shaving/epilating and your done! No sting, no smell, no worries!

I’ve been using the serum for about 2.5 months now and with consistent use I can see that my ingrown hairs have been halted. It also helps old ones work their way to the top layer of skin so you can remove them safely. (this coming from someone who used to take a clean needle and poke underneath the hair to get it out). The serum uses glycolic acid to clear away dead skin and helps keep it moisturized at the same time. Its also packed with fruit extracts that have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea trea oil helps round out the formula with its antibacterial benefits, keeping pores clean and free of infection.

The final verdict: I’m totally sold on this stuff. It’s not expensive, its easy to use every day (and this is an absolute must for it to work), and I love all the antioxidants it has in the formula.

The cost? $25.00 online (edited July 2019 price updated on Amazon to $21) , or you can get a bottle at any of their locations. BUY HERE ON AMAZON.

Is there any questions you have about the serum? Please send them on over as I just started blogging and want to getgood info out to you guys 🙂

UPDATE AS OF 2021: I cannot find this product online, only possibly in store. But I have an updated list of productds that help prevent ingrown hair here.

  • I've too have used this product and I love it. I wanted to ask you a question. Since this serum has all the ingredients suggested for anti aging. Do you think it would be good for the face?

    • HI Tanja, Im not sure about putting this on the face. While it may have the correct ingredients, that doesn't mean it is at the correct percentage for your face to tolerate. Kinda like how salicylic acid is found in acne products at 1-2% but if you find a dandruff shampoo the percentage will be higher....and can also be seen in wart remover at like 10+%. I would opt for something else in the glycolic or salycylic acid area.

      • I found this site when I purchased the product at EWC. I was recommended the product after going there to wax my face. They said it is safe to use on your face, but only at night. It should not be used on your face during the day due to the UV attracting properties! But it is perfectly safe to use throughout the night.

        • Thanks for the info Samantha! I havent had a need to try it on my face but you are correct, definitely do use it during the day because of the sun!

  • for the last 2 yrs i have been proned to ingrown hair in my bikini area. its horrible and embarrassing! i was wondering if this will work for that area. i have tried several ways to help it be back to the way it use to be but it just wont work:/ thank you

  • i just wanted to know how does it take for the ingrown hair serum to show improvement and should you use it when hair starts to grow back on bikini area or only when you get hair waxed ?

  • I'm actually an associate for the European wax center & I will tell you that this is what all the girls call our miracle product! We recommend using it 2x a day, once in the morning and once at night to prevent and treat ingrowns. Also, I do use it on my face to treat acne. Our estheticians gave me the green light and it has proven to be safe. However, ONLY use it on your face at night as it does make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Glad you love it!

    • Whoohoo an answer from EWC themselves. Hello! Thank you for clarifying that about usage on the face. and WHEN to apply. Would love to hear from others that have also used this as an effective way to treat their acne.

    • what's the shelf life of this serum? I buy a lot of them when there's a sale. I have one bottle that looks cloudy with particles and the serum stinks.

      • Hmm. Usually rule of thumb is one year for most items. I no longer have a bottle since this post is yeeeaaars old. Somehow it's my most popular post. Curious how you found it? If I had the bottle in my hand I would check the back and bottle and see if it has a symbol of shelf life. It will look like this:

  • This company used to sell Princereigns Ingrwon Hair Serum and basically this product is their knockoff version of the best product for ingrowns. So dont be fooled.

  • just make sure to use the serum and when you are in the shower use your shower puff to buff the area and help exfoliate. thats normal. It just needs exfoliation and a pat dry.

  • I have been getting my bikini area waxed once a month at the EWC for 5 months now. After my 4th appointment the ingrown hairs were starting to bother me so during my next appointment I asked what I can do about them. She recommended the serum and I I have been using it daily for a week and a half now. But the ingrown hairs are not getting better. It actually seems to more irritated than the last time. How long should the serum take to start working? I believe it's a good product and will eventually make the ingrown hairs go away, but at this point it does not seem to be making a difference. In fact, this is the worst it has been so far. Please let me know what you think I should do. Thanks!

    • It should have helped within the week, unless you have some severely Ingrowns. Are you possibly scrubbing or exfoliating too much? It may just be too much aggravation on your lady parts and bikini line. I love the serum, but if you need a second suggestion? Try cool fix from shaveworks. It's a little more pricey, but it works VeRY well and will never irritate. Next time you get a wax, speak to the technician. Let the, know it has made things worse. In my opinion if it made things worse, I would stop. Just like setting a facial and getting more pimples after than before. At one point you SHOUlD see progress. If zero progress , stop , and evaluate what may work for you. My bet is shaveworks cool fix will help. Let me know how it goes. I'd love to hear an update
