Catrice Cosmetics Coolibri Collection

I never had a chance to ever post swatches from the first international nail polish brand that I bought about a month back!  Catrice Cosmetics has been on my radar ever since I’ve been following other nail polish blogs, but Nailderella posted about the Coolibri Collection which was a limited edition line of eye liners, lip products, nail polishes and jelly cheek tint that had bright and bold colors, much like the Coolibri Hummingbird.

After seeing the entire collection I knew I had to find a way to get it.  After posting all over twitter and facebook I was dirrected to check out an international store to get what I wanted: Maquillalia, which I believe originates in Spain.  I ended up getting the refreshing lip balm (which I, and everyone in my office loves), one of the eye shadow sticks, and I THOUGHT all of the polishes. Turns out I bought two of “abloom” and accidentally didn’t get “Twist of Lemon”.  The lip balm smells like warm vanilla and goes on smooth.  Not to mention the uber-sleek packaging it comes in.  It feels fancy! The eye shadow stick I got was in “Virgin Forest”, which is a metallic turquoise.  The color doesn’t budge and can be super bold, or smudge out soft.  I hope that I can get the rest of the collection at one point, but we’ll see whats left when I go back. For now, I bring you a ton of photos on the nail polishes I did get!

From Left to Right: Birds Flying High,Twist of Lemon, Abloom, Exotica and Virgin Forest.

Birds Flying High – Bright Teal Blue Cream

Abloom – Vibrant Corally Red Pink Cream

I really wish I got more photos of this color. It was my absolute favorite.  I also put this color on my toes immediately.  The color goes on super shiny and doesn’t even need a top coat.  Abloom is the best color out of the whole bunch!  I received several compliments at work and the color didn’t chip!

Exotica – Metallic Shimmery Orange

This color was my second favorite with the super pretty shimmer within the orange.  I cant pin point if its a really weak duo chrome kinda thing going on, I could swear it’s a pinkish shimmer, or if it would just be classified as a metallic but the formula was smooth and looked great in two coats.  The intensity of the color depends on the surrounding lighting, just take a look at my photos.

Virgin Forest -Metallic Shimmery Green

The one thing you need to know about this color is that even with a base coat it will stain the sh%#@! out of your nails.  It was one of the few bottles that warned to use a base coat but I didn’t REALLY think it would be that bad.  Virgin Forest is a beautiful color, but not really the most favorite shade of green for my taste.  It just ends up making my hands look paler I think. And mistakes are more noticeable. I think that’s what I really hate.

This color makes me think of the people of Emerald City. Anyone else?

Heres’ a photo of the entire collection that I would love to have!  Do you see anything you like?

If seeing this collection makes you immediately reach for your wallet, you can try to buy it from the place I went to Maquillalia.  It didn’t take long at all and the shipping wasn’t as expensive as I thought.  I highly recommend the refreshing lip color lip balm and the Abloom nail color.  I would next like to get any of the nectar glosses and the eye shadow pen in Birds Flying High.  I’m trying to experiment with more eye color at the moment and these can be used in a variety of ways.

Does anyone else shop for Catrice?  Where do you buy it?
