My Favorite Lip Products at The Moment

As  I do more and more beauty shopping at Target and CVS, I’ve come across some very well known brands of lipsticks, balms and glosses that are absolutely perfect for those who love a good pink lip.  I generally stick to pinks and a few neutral colors, but pink always gives me a more lively look.  I drink a ton of coffee, tea and water at work so I look for stuff I can easily reapply throughout the day when I feel everything has worn off.  With the amount I drink throughout the day I don’t expect any to stay all day….and most of those that CAN stay all day are extremely drying for my lips.

Anyway, just thought it would be fun to share what are my favorites at the moment.  All of these items were purchased by myself at either Target or CVS and  pretty sure they were all under $10 each.Let’s get started with an initial swatch so you can see what I’m loving!

Now lets break it down….

EOS Lip Balm – I haven’t met a person that hasn’t been either addicted or intrigued by these ball-shaped balms. In fact, my dog has eaten two of them after sniffing around when no one is home.  The shape of the balm is what keeps me coming back for more. Something about it being a large round surface makes me want to swirl it over my lips over and over again.   I believe all flavors are 95% organic, and goes on nice and smoooootttthh (and clear/no shine). No swatch done. Really not needed.

/8/” target=”_blank”>Milani Fruit Punch – Fruit Punch is a creme lipstick that stems from the color statement line.  I’ve seen about a billion swatches on the colors Milani has and I have to say that pretty much all the pinks are drool worthy and if you want to see some amazing swatches. Check out Let Them Have Polish‘s swatches of the lipsticks. Cristina does an amazing job showing each color!  Fruit Punch glides on smooth and creamy and smells/tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher.  This is one of the more “bold” colors I use so I blot it before heading out to work most of the time…unless I’m wearing a sleek ponytail and cleanly winged eyes.  At $5.49 each you will want to grab a couple of these along with the corresponding lip liners.

Maybelline Mocha Muse – Maybelline introduced the color whisper line which is supposed to be a lightweight translucent gel-based lip color. No waxes or heavy oils.  This one feels great going on.  The color is definitely the neutral of the bunch, and it truly does glide on making lips feel moisturized and not heavily painted.  There are twenty shades in the color whisper line….I intend to get a few more in the pink/fuschia range.

Maybelline Pink Possibilitites – another beauty from the color whisper line.   I am totally in love with this clear gel color that gives you just a hint of color with one swipe and lightly builds up with a few more swipes.  I like this color more than the mocha muse, but still love them both.

CoverGirl Blush Twist – My latest and more favorite of the bunch.  CoverGirl’s Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balm are the most perfect lip product for Claudia there can be!  It looks almost like a jumbo fat crayon that you twist up for more color.  It has a pointed tip but blush twist has already been worn down to a flat nub.  It still works awesome and I kinda wish there were more pinks and mauves of this product…I mostly see neutrals. No stickyness. No gungky buildup. This is my absolute favorite at the moment and I love the fact it uses shea and mango butters to keeps my lips soft and smooth. Those are the raw ingredients I use to keep my skin soft!

CoverGirl Haute Pink Twist – Another gloss balm from Covergirl that is a LITTLE on the bright side, but looks awesome when I wear it. I like that this one is still pointy because I like to kind of “line” my lips with it first for a more precise lip.  You can see in the photo above how vivid haute pink twist really is! Imagine it over a true matching liner! Wowee!

Revlon Womenswear – This is the longest lasting of the bunch. When the tube says colorstay…..it means it!  Or at least a full day at the office in my case.  Even through my coffee and tee guzzling it mostly stayed. Enough where I could see it and not feel the need to keep reapplying.  Slightly drying, but not enough to make me stop wearing it. I loved that this had a little bit of sheen to it so it didn’t “look” dry”.  Colorstay Ultimate Suede lipstick comes in twenty colors and touts that it moisturizes while it stays put.  I wouldn’t say this is on the “moisturizing” end…but great color and great price.

I have another 20 or so lipsticks all ranging in very similar pinks!  Do we all do that?  I don’t venture too far out in the lipstick department as I tend to like to focus more on my eye makeup most of the time.  Do you have a favorite lipstick or gloss you always wear?  Share in the comments below!
