If you’ve ever colored your hair you know how beneficial it is to use the right products to keep the color vibrant and healthy looking. In my younger years I used to bleach my hair until it was like straw and never thought past using a deep conditioner every once in awhile to save my hair. Well, that ongoing abuse lead to severe hair breakage and me growing a mohawk in my teens that any girlfriend from high school would clearly remember. Now that I’m older and wiser, I look at every product I use on my hair and skin with a critical eye and while the classic line from Dermorganic has always worked great, the Color Care Collection is just what I needed.
I have a balayage that is almost grown out, but I’m still babying because I like the highlights that have lingered in the lower portion of my hair. The lightened ends are more prone to split ends, breakage and dulling since they’ve been chemically processed so using gentle products that offer additional protection are the first I grab for in the shower.
The Dermorganic Color Care Collection is vegan, cruelty-free, made with nourishing organic ingredients and includes UV protectors made from sunflower and grapeseed extracts to help keep colored hair shiny, moisturized and vibrant. It’s also free of sulfates, salts, sodium chloride and artificial preservatives while remaining pH balanced to keep the cuticle sealed for a reflective, shiny appearance.
Sometimes sulfate-free shampoos lack in the lathering department but Dermorganic’s Color Care Sulfate Free Shampoo works up some good suds to clean hair and rinse away easily. The scent is fruity and delicious. I can’t quite put my finger on what the scent is, but I like it.
I have very long, fine hair that always needs conditioning to keep it tangle free. I’m one of those people that wish the conditioner bottle was twice as big as the shampoo bottle. There’s just never enough! Luckily I don’t need to pile it on with Dermorganic. Dermorganic’s Color Care Conditioner gives my hair a second dose of argan oil, lipids, rice amino acids, sunflower and grapeseed extracts while leaving it silky soft and easy to comb without tearing or causing further breakage. I also really love that the fruity scent continues to leave my hair smelling extra delicious.
And, although I don’t have time to heat style my hair that often, I do I like to use a thermal spray to give some added protection from being scorched with a blow dryer or curling iron. Dermorganic’s 8-Way Thermal Spray works wonders to help in detangling hair while offering heat protection up to 450 degrees. It doesn’t stop there though; it also works to fight frizz, strengthen damaged hair and guard against day to day pollutants that dull our hair over time. Just a few spritzes are needed to help keep my hair easy to manage, and I felt like it helped in blow drying my hair faster than I expected. My hair felt incredibly smooth after blow drying and kept me wanting to run my fingers through it for the rest of the day, even in hot, sticky So Cal weather.
Dermorganic Color Care products can be found at your local ULTA or found at their website and retail for $18 each in a generously sized bottle. To find out more about the brand you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram for tips, giveaways and hair inspo.
