Back in January I was introduced to the Humboldt Soap Company when I had read about their products on some friends blogs. Their body mousse is absolutely diviiiiiiiinnnne and something everyone should treat themselves to. But what’s really exciting is that they’re releasing a new Shampoo bar just in time for Amazon Prime Day which will be on July 15th & 16th (this Monday and Tuesday) !!
Lots of news in the last six months for Humboldt Soap Company! For one, they are now available on Amazon. But I also found out they became certified cruelty free by Leaping Bunny which is the gold-standard in cruelty free certification. And now, these new Shampoo bars!
Shampoo bars aren’t a new thing to me — but I don’t see them often. While liquid shampoos are the most widely available in plastic bottle form, solid shampoo bars like these from the Humboldt Soap Company require very little packaging to reduce waste keeping them a very eco-friendly option. In fact, the packaging of the shampoo bars and some other products are made of a compostable cellulose so there is no waste at all!
These shampoo bars (along with all their other products) are handmade with vegan ingredients and soap-free. There are four fragrances total but two available on Amazon: Mango Madness and Raspberry Shortbread . Each having a scent created from a blend of phthalate-free fragrances and fruit powders. I had no doubt this shampoo bar would smell delish. As I said previously, their body mousse scents are divine!
I gave Mango Madness a couple tries. This is really initial thoughts since I wanted to get this out to you guys before Amazon prime day hits and I want you to know about it before they sell out! They are normally available for $12 each but my inside source let me know they will be $10.50 only (with that awesome free prime shipping).
The bar lathers up just like a traditional soap bar (but without the soap)! I have fine, (previously) color treated hair and this worked very well to clean it after super sweaty workout sessions. I was curious if it was going to leave my hair heavy or dry like some other bars will do and it didn’t. I still use conditioner because I have a tangly sweaty ponytail after my workouts but I could feel it helped some of those knots slink out before I combed in some conditioner on the ends. I could get away with using just the bar and nothing else (literally) on some days because it even worked well as a body wash and something to shave my legs with!
I was worried it would become a goopy mess on my shower shelf because I couldn’t find a soap tray before giving a test, but it dried just fine and didn’t turn to mush. I’ll probably still get a dish though.
I think these would make a great travel option for some, a good gift for just about anyone, or anyone who likes to support vegan, cruelty free brands.
Don’t miss out on their Amazon prime day deals! Grab your bar now before they’re gone!
