I’m one of those people who waits strictly until after Thanksgiving to roll out the Christmas decor. Once Turkey dinner has been cleared and I’ve had a day of rest, the big green bin gets pulled from the garage and we start decorating in a frenzy. Everyone, even my husband starts to get those true holidays feels once our home is decorated for the holidays –which is the perfect time to start writing those holiday cards when the warm fuzzies start to make their appearance. This year, we went with BasicInvite.com after being drawn to the huge variety of holiday christmas cards they had.
We don’t send out cards often so our holiday card is a great time for us to send current photos of our family —more specifically our daughter that they love seeing grow up. Having a mostly east coast family means we don’t see each other as often as we should, so personalized holiday cards are a fun way to keep everyone updated.
The layout of the website made designing and ordering my cards super easy. And I loved that I could change up the colors of just about anything in the design to see if I could make something more “us”. The instant previews with color and font changes made it easy for my husband and I to agree on which one we wanted to go with. They truly do have something for everyone! Even though we don’t own a cat, I couldn’t help but look at their cat Christmas cards and went down the rabbit hole of their holiday party invitations templates because they’re fun to look at and get more ideas from.
Had I started a couple of weeks ago I would have taken advantage of their custom sample service so I could see and feel the difference of the designs and paper on hand but this busy mama just couldn’t get in gear until after Thanksgiving. Luckily, the instant previews were available when you are on a time crunch.
I’m not even kidding when I say that you can completely customize your cards. Every element of the card can be changed color-wise, fonts, foil finishes, card stock and even the envelopes can have your own personal touch added to them to make the holiday card of your dreams. They seriously have over 40 options just on their envelopes alone!
One service that they include for free is their address capture service. If you’re like me and don’t write addresses down anywhere, you can simply use their web service which creates a link you can share on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for friends and family to give you their address. The addresses are stored securely on their site for when it’s time to write out your cards. Don’t want to hand-address them yourself? For just a little bit more you can have their address, stamp and mail your cards FOR YOU! How easy is that?!
My cards turned out exactly like I wanted! I even added on some personalized thank you note cards for me to use throughout the year. I’ve always wanted my own set of thank you note cards and now I have them!
Right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off holiday card orders with code: 15FF51. You can still place your order in time and choose the appropriate shipping so you can get your holiday cards out in time (or use their mailing service and make it easy on yourself)!

Those are really nice customized cards! Well done!
Those are great looking cards. People are going to think you are an artist with these.
The easy customization is terrific since I often get photocards from folks in the neighborhood that look just like everyone else but with difference people. Yours looks modern and fun to look at. I can't believe how your daughter is growing so fast!
Those are really nice. My dog Winkles made several for her relatives :-)
