New From Bliss: Exclusive To Target!
It had been a while since I’d used anything from Bliss, but a surprise package landed at my doorstep containing their latest items exclusively available at Target! I was super excited to see that most of the items were things that I’d use (and hopefully love!), like a tinted sunscreen and a variety of “facial” products which looked perfect for weekly nighttime skincare rituals.
I had just posted about tinted sunscreens and sure enough, Bliss sent me one!
Bliss Block Star Invisible Daily Sunscreen offers broad-spectrum SPF 30 protection in a 100% mineral formula. One thing that is often associated with mineral sunscreens is the white cast left behind after application. Brands ARE getting better at hiding it making the formulas sheerer and more easily blended into the skin and bliss’ new sunscreen is spot on. I will say, by first application I was into it. The tint of the color was a perfect match for me (I range from light to medium) and does end up sheer on the skin. This does not offer coverage in that sense but worked well with serums underneath and a CC cream on top. I could best describe the finish to be demi-matte. There was no shine at all with this one, it just looks like your own natural skin. That being said, I should warn that the tint may not work for those who are very fair to light. I do have a blogger friend who tried this sunscreen and it gave her an orange tint. That did not happen with me though, so just keep that in mind!
I love giving myself mini facial sessions at home in the evening. It’s that time after picking my husband up from work, getting home, and finally unwinding while he handles dinner. I go upstairs, change into pajamas, and do my skincare routine for that night. I like to switch things up often when it comes to masks and “extra” stuff, and I can do that with these bliss facial minis. At first glance, I assumed these were one-time-use products and that was it. You actually get quite a few treatments out of these 0.5oz jars. And at $5 apiece you can mix and match the ones you want easily.
I immediately said “I’m using that.” the minute I saw the Moisture Intensifier Hyaluronic Acid facial jar. I like incorporating HA into my routines so that other products absorb well, and this one is considered an INTENSIFIER! Yes, bliss, help my skin soak up all the moisture! I am a bit confused by the mention of ten minutes though. You don’t wash this off, this is a product you’d wear underneath a moisturizer. I chose to put on an HA serum, and then layer this on top, and then follow with a moisturizing sunscreen or nighttime moisturizer. I appreciated that it didn’t pill or get weird when I used various serums around it, and it only takes a two-finger dab into the jar to use plenty of product all over the face.
I usually rely on glycolics or retinol for daily exfoliation. But I do enjoy a good physical exfoliant often! Bliss Pore Refining Volcanic Sand Facial appears to be a two-in-one type mask. You allow the product to sit on damp skin for ten minutes, and then massage into the skin afterward to allow the volcanic sand to gently exfoliate the face. I would classify this one as very gentle. You can feel the sand, but it is mostly a gel that absorbs it into the skin. Willow bark and rosa canina extract are included in the formula to help with pore refining. I have large pores and have to remind myself they will always look the way they do, but I do enjoy how my skin feels after using this!
I decided to give the Resurfacing Fruit Enzyme Treatment next. Whenever I went for a facial they would do an enzyme mask to exfoliate and smooth the skin. This stuff straight up looks like pumpkin in a jar! Sometimes enzyme masks tingle after a few minutes but I didn’t experience that with this one. Enzyme masks are a great choice for exfoliation if you are more sensitive to stronger exfoliants like glycolics. On top of that, they usually are filled with antioxidants from the fruits used in the mask while Turmeric soothes the skin. I didn’t notice any immediate results but can expect something over time using this frequently (a couple of times a week).
The one facial treatment that I won’t be using from this set is the Bliss Detoxifying Charcoal Facial. Once I saw there was clay in this I immediately put it in a box for a friend and shipped it off. And then realized I didn’t write about it yet and had to run to Target to buy another for the post. Whoops! In any case, this mask uses kaolin clay and white charcoal to draw put excess oil and pollutants out of the pores so oily and acne-prone friends, this one is for you! My normal/dry skin could not handle this product so I cannot test it. Sorry!
Bliss also released some jarred moisturizers, one for dry skin and one for other skin types. My skin tends to get drier in the cooler Winter months so I’ll be saving the Bliss Drench & Quench Rich Water Cream for those months to hydrate my skin while I use Bliss Drench & Quench Cream To Water Hydrator during the hotter months. Both formulas include four different types of hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin quickly, are fragrance-free, and surprisingly both are to have a weightless feel. I do enjoy the gel-cream texture of the Cream to Water version as it absorbs quickly into my skin and leaves it feeling very hydrated.
Just a reminder all of these are EXCLUSIVE to Target. You cannot buy these even on their website! Will you be picking up any of these in the future? What sounds appealing to you?
