Lash Goals With Pacifica Beauty Vegan Collagen Fluffy Lash

I’m pretty particular when it comes to mascara. I know what I like, and I don’t waste my time fussing with mascaras that are poorly formulated, overpriced, or won’t work for me! Lifes too short — use a mascara you love! I’m always a little skeptical when I receive mascara via PR because a lot that are sent are terrible and what the brand wants to be promoted, not what I actually like. But when Pacifica sent me their Vegan Collagen Fluffy Lash I was game. I liked the brand but wasn’t too familiar with most of their mascaras and I recently have enjoyed some other things from them so there was hope.

The Ideal Mascara

When I think of the perfect mascara it has to hit a couple of points for me. For one, it has to have lengthening abilities. My lashes are quite short and even though my hair is light brown, my lashes must be blonde because they are completely non-existent without mascara. I also like a thin, clean formula. By this I mean, that mousse-y, thicker type mascaras usually end up messy in an attempt to volumize my lashes but just look terrible. I also expect the wand to come out clean. There has to be some type of component in the tube to clean the brush wand before it comes out to 1) save product and 2) apply cleanly to the lash. I am not particular on the actual brush wand but a stiff spiral or silicone brush with teeth does well for my lashes while very dense brushes tend to pinch and clump them together. Oh, and I don’t want to spend more than $20 — more like $10-15 is my range.

I think these are reasonable requests, do you?

The Mascara

Pacifica’s new Vegan Collagen Fluffy Lash was able to meet my expectation in several ways, and wow me in others that I didn’t expect. One surprise is that there is a matching Lash Primer and Serum to accompany this mascara. Sold separately, of course, but meant to work together. The actual mascara features vegan plant fibers to add volume and length to the lashes, vegan collagen synthesis promoters, and conditioning components to keep lashes soft, moisturized.

The brush wand looks hourglass to me which helps reach those super short lashes at the inner and outer corners of my eye and reached them with ease. I think it also helped with lift and curl to some extent — I’m too lazy to pull out a curler so if a wand can help that’s a plus! What’s really awesome is the packaging. Both the serum/primer and the mascara are housed in the prettiest GLASS tubes that are recyclable. When I first picked up the mascara out of the box I immediately noticed the weight of the tube. It felt substantial, and in my IG stories, I said it made it feel fancier and I still think that. I am a little worried I will have butter fingers and break it, but let’s hope for the best!

The Primer

The primer applies has a standard spiral wand with it. The primer appears clear/white when applied and I tend to just wiggle it through the ends of the lashes to add length. I’ve had hit or miss applications when I used the primer and then the mascara. It does tend to pump up the volume of each lash making my lashes pinch together in some areas versus putting the mascara on a plain/clean lash where I was able to truly get some feathery-looking lashes with this mascara. I will keep working on using them together because my lash could very much use any help in growing in length.

Pacifica’s Vegan Collagen Lash Serum and Primer uses Kaolin and plant wax to add volume while vitamin B, E,  and vegan collagen synthesis promoters condition for healthy lash growth. This will obviously take some time to see any sort of result, but I can report back that my lashes are still touchably soft and bend when using the primer and mascara so no dried-out lashes here.

The mascara runs $16 a tube while the primer is $14. Without trying it first I might hesitate to spend that much on a duo and would probably try the mascara first and decide on the primer. I’m glad I have both, I think they both really help enhance my lashes.

The Vegan Collagen Fluffy Lash duo is already out in ULTA stores as of 5/17 and is also available online at pacificabeauty.com and ultabeauty.com

  • I'm not a fan of lash primers. I don't have strong enough lashes to use them, they tend to make my lashes droop. But this mascara sounds good. I think that brush would work well for me and I like that it's a clean product.

  • The tubes themselves are so pretty. Try as I might, I cannot get myself to use a lash primer. But the mascara sounds very nice. Your lashes look great!

    • the tubes ARE gorgeous aren't they? I just hope I don't pull a klutzy move and break one, lol!

  • I have a different Pacifica mascara and love it!! Can't believe it's natural because it works so well!

    • yes, others fall short in one way or another but this one has been great so far!
