Must Have Body Moisturizers

There is something so soothing and relaxing about putting a good moisturizer on, isn’t it? Almost like a sigh of relief to your skin as it soaks up all the moisture, replenishing it back to a healthy state. I’ve always been an avid body lotion user, but living in the desert has made me apply moisturizers way more often, which means I need more variety. To keep your skin as moisturized as I like mine, I’ve rounded up some of the best I’ve tried over the years to share with you guys!

Petal Fresh Restoring Body Butter – Honey & Coconut

I might as well start with the one that I’ve used the longest, and that would be Petal Fresh Restoring Body Butter. I’m showing it here in the honey and coconut scent, but there are several options and I enjoy them all. I started using petal fresh when I found out I was pregnant and fell in love with their products ever since. Years back it was more difficult to order (I actually would call the company and place an order over the phone) but now you can find them easily for online ordering. A butter may sound heavy for Summer but sometimes my skin just craves the deep moisture these butters can bring. Organic Shea butter, coconut oil, and argan oil work together to heal and repair the skin while giving the skin a healthy sheen. Petal Fresh is a cruelty-free brand that prides themselves on avoiding parabens, sulfates, or dyes. This particular product is vegan, the brand is cruelty-free.

Hempz Herbal Body Moisturizer

Hempz Herbal Body Moisturizer is heavily used in our household by everyone. I’ve spoken about their lotions before and I’m doing it again because they are just that awesome. Lightweight and fast to absorb, Hempz body lotions always do the job of moisturizing our skin even after a day of sun or playing at the pool. Hemp Seed Oil is the star ingredient of their products, with its ability to act as an anti-inflammatory and humectant while also balancing skin oil production. I want to remind everyone that their products do not contain THC in any way, but they do have a CBD line of hair and skin products for face and body if that’s something beneficial for you. I’ll forever love the original version of this lotion (smells like banana), but this Summer I’m doing my best to branch out and try their other varieties! Hempz products are vegan and cruelty-free. Earth To Skin Hand & Body Buttercream – Honey Manuka Almond

Thoroughly impressed with the buttercreams and body lotions from this Walmart-based brand! Their manuka skincare line is sprinkled throughout each bathroom in my home as I get ready everywhere, and love how affordable this brand is. I recently finished up their cica body lotion and am itching to get a new tube but I should finish this one first. I really thought the scent would be strong with this one, but I actually find the honey aroma quite soft. This lotion relies on honey, glycerin and hyaluronic acid help draw moisture to the skin while shea butter and sweet almond oil lock it all in. At the price these are at (everything is around $10) you can treat yourself to the Honey buttercream, Cica Relief Balm, Black Tea Body Balm, and Lemon +Basil Cream Gel without breaking the bank! Earth To Skin is a cruelty-free brand.

First Aid Beauty KP Smoothing Body Lotion

If you suffer from extremely dry skin or keratosis pilaris, First Aid Beauty not only has a body scrub, but they also recently debuted their KP smoothing lotion. The KP Smoothing lotion contains 10% AHA to help exfoliate the skin while Urea smoothes and hydrates and colloidal oatmeal soothes and ceramides moisturize skin. I personally don’t suffer from KP, but I do get dry skin from time to time and have actually really enjoyed this for my feet. My feet and lower legs get very dry out here with me being in sandals if I’m not in a gym, and this lotion helps keep my feet looking nice. Please remember because this lotion has AHAs that you can be more sensitive to sun exposure so sunscreen is advised if it’s not a clothed area. I only use this a couple of times a week, so assess your tolerance as well. Also, this does not contain fragrance but it does have a scent to it. I can’t put my finger on it, but something in the formula gives off a scent. This is a vegan product and cruelty-free.

Kopari Coconut Body Milk

I’ve been dying to try the ultra-luxurious coconut-centered brand, Kopari, for just about forever now. Everything about the brand appeals to me, so I finally placed an order for their Full Body Hydration Kit so I could get the chance to try their scrub and body wash too (more on that later). I was a bit surprised by the fragrance of this body milk as I detect a gardenia monoi fragrance and not just a faint coconut which I assumed it would be. Even with the surprise, I enjoy the scent of the product and the milk absorbs nicely into the skin. The coconut oil-infused lotion feels lightweight on the skin, and sources its coconut oil sustainably via the Philippine Islands, I don’t agree that this is a subtle scent, except maybe after the fragrance dissipates over time, but if you enjoy any type of coconut variety you’ll enjoy this one. Buy it at Sephora.

Cetaphil Sheer Hydration Replenishing Body Lotion

I picked this one up based on a dermatologist recommendation, unfortunately, I can’t remember who. Cetaphil Sheer Hydration Replenishing Body Lotion feels like pure moisture in a pump bottle. The gel-cream absorbs very quickly without leaving any trace behind. A good one to consider if you plan on getting dressed quickly after and don’t want any residue on clothes. What’s really cool about this one is its inclusion of hydrosensitiv complex that contains soothing blue daisy, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins E and B5 to drench the skin in moisture for a full 48 hours. I like using lotion too much to even test that claim, but I do like how this one feels. I thought since this was from Cetafil it would have no fragrance, but it does. It’s a light clean fresh scent I remember from my cosmetics lab days. I think this would be better fragrance-free, but I still love the benefits this one gives my skin.

  • What a nice collection of body lotions! I need to try the Earth to Skin Honey Buttercream!

  • You have almost as many body lotions/butters as I do, lol! Someday, I will try the Petal Fresh. That one looks so rich and hydrating!

  • When I came home from the hospital in June the first thing I did was shower (with help) and then slather up. Your choices would all have made me happy. I had some Eucerin that the derm had recommended for my husband and used that but since I've been using my stash. Thanks for some new ideas.
