The Best Eye Treatments, Serums, and More!

The eyes are often a part of my face that I tend to the least. It’s not a very good reason, but I think mostly it’s because it’s the last place I saw change on my face over the years. I look back now and wish I had started a bit sooner because I’m noticing those pesky nuances now in my lids and under-eye area.

I’ve been told you don’t actually need a separate eye cream, but after seeing what seasonal allergies did to my eyes this past Spring, I feel like they could have used all the help they could get. I rubbed my eyes so hard I see crepey skin now where it doesn’t bounce back into place. Perhaps that was something that would inevitably happen…but I feel like something targeted for eyes would have helped such a delicate area.

I also happen to have more steps in my skincare than the average person too. As a blogger, we have access to a lot and it’s enticing to keep them all in rotation. Because of that, I probably forget the eye step pretty easily unless it’s something that I really enjoy and saw results from. It needs to stand out in some way to have a spot in my routine, so here are the handful of eye treatments I like and can actually stick to!

Ice Ice Baby

We can’t forget the quick payoff of using an ice roller or cooled jade roller around the eyes. While it’s just a temporary fix, ice rollers help wake me up, but they also do a great job of depuffing the eyes. When I had my first bout of allergies, my eyes were a watery bulging mess. Each morning I would sit for a couple of minutes at my dining table and use my ice rollers on my face until they weren’t cold anymore. It feels good and can be refreshing if you are overheated, exhausted, or even have a headache. This is also one of the more affordable options to go for too. So try this first before splurging on other pricey solutions. This opal roller from Fourth Ray Beauty is not “real”, but I thought it was so pretty I had to buy it a couple of years back!

Eye Gels/Masks

Eye gels have become a relaxing part of winding down at the end of the day. I don’t do them every day, but I do enjoy it when I get to apply them after a long evening shower and let them stay for very long (maybe even up to an hour or so). There are tons of eye gels out there, but what made me love the Good Molecules Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches was the size of each of these gels. They offer so much coverage while trapping in moisture, depuffing the eyes, and treating dark circles. I love how smooth my skin feels after I peel these off and wish I could get away with sleeping with them on.

Moisture Surge

Farmacy is a brand I have enjoyed for many years and their Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream is one of many products that I adore. I would describe this as a very hydrating “wet” cream. Its ability to illuminate the eye area is hard to match by others and looks great on bare skin or underneath makeup. It uses vitamin C from acerola cherries to brightening while Sacha Itchi peptides strengthen the delicate area. My under eyes very very hydrated with a very tiny amount of this cream and I love the radiant glow it creates on the orbital area.

Multi-tasker

Colorescience always impresses me with their science-driven products. As a big fan of their Sunforgettable total protection line, there was almost no question of how I would feel about their Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy product. Not only does it offer color correction of dark under eye circles, but it also provides mineral SPF 25 protection and anti-aging benefits to firm, hydrate and smooth the eye area all in one step. Medium shade works well as a concealer/corrector for my entire eye area. I have deep inner eye areas, not so much under the eye and this pats in beautifully, blending with my skin and makeup well. I can use it for the entire eye area too, which is nice. On the lids it acts as a brightener and primer while it corrects those bluer areas where skin is thin. I also love that Total Eye 3-in-1 doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. Because any chemical type sunscreens make my eyes water like crazy and I don’t have to worry about that with this brand at all.

The Regimen

If you’re committed to the long-haul of eye care, Colorescience also has a clinically tested boxed set of products that fight fine lines, puffiness, and wrinkles overnight and throughout the day. The Colorescience Total Eye Restore Regimen includes the Total Eye 3-in-1 renewal therapy for coverage and protection during the day but also includes their total eye concentrate roller ball treatment that uses microalgae to firm, hyaluronic acid to hydrate, plant extracts that work on fine lines and wrinkles, while vitamins treat dark circles. But it doesn’t stop there. It also includes several sets of their hydrogel under eye masks that infuse intense hydration and temporary smoothing the under eye (like, REALLY smooth). When I take these hydrogels off you can see a difference even if it doesn’t last forever. It also gives the total eye concentrate to really absorb well into the under-eye area giving it the full treatment.

The Illuminator

I’ve been on a pretty big FAB kick this past year or so and First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Niacinamide Eye Cream has been on my bathroom counter almost the entire time since it was launched! This golden, peachy cream absorbs nicely into the skin and leaves the orbital area of the eye with a nice delicate pearlized glow. Niacinamide and caffeine work to diminish dark under eyes and sodium hyaluronate is included to hydrate and smooth. It feels very lightweight and I like to use it both am and pm.

I want to mention that Strivectin’s Hyaluronic Tripeptide Gel Cream is amazing too but I’ve used up all my jars and haven’t needed to buy anything since I still have all these others to use. It has a swirl of gel and a swirl of cream, peptides, hyaluronic acid, blue daisy, and bio marine extracts for depuffing, and treating dark circles… and for some reason that cream was the first one that made me say, okay, I’m sticking to this.

Is there an eye product that you rely on? I’d love to hear what it is!
