Hairstyles with Madison Braids

I’m really no hair pro, I keep things pretty simple since I’m short on time and hairstyling usually gets last priority over makeup. But recently, I’ve been having fun playing with different options from Madison Braids, a family-owned company specializing in hair extensions and braided pieces to make hairstyling fun and easy!

Each piece is handmade and comes in a variety of colors to blend with your own natural hair. They also make both adult, and kids sizes so if you want to twin with your mini, you can!

Customer Service with this brand has been top-notch and they can help you find the best color piece if you are hesitant to choose for yourself!

The Hair Pieces

The Bree Ponytail is the first piece I tried. It adds length and volume to your own ponytail! The hair is synthetic, and I would not try curling it with any hair tools, but looks very natural when it’s next to my own natural hair. The wrap extension uses a small clip to secure the pony piece at the top of your own ponytail, and ribbons to tightly wrap around. I am able to wear this the entire day without it sagging or falling off. It feels very secure, and it’s a lot of fun to have a long thick ponytail to whip around.

The Halo braid is one of my favorites. It is a thicker braid to add volume at the top of your head and has an adjustable elastic at the back to tighten as needed. I like to wear this one with my hair down, mostly, and a few face-framing pieces pulled out with the help of a pointy bottom comb. I occasionally need to move the braid around, only because I find myself playing with my hair that much more when I feel it’s “prettier”, but it never ever slips off.

The Arisa braid is more of a flatter, fishtail braid style laying closer to the scalp. This works the same way as MOST of the braids on their site, with an adjustable elastic band at the nape of your scalp. I’ve tried different ideas like having my hair half up and down but with this braid in place to add some more detail to the look.

The Butterfly braid is the most intricate braid style. How do I describe this braid? Simply gorgeous? It looks like a regular braid, but with a miniature braid that is braided in too. This one has caught the eye of more friends than the others with its unique design.

The Lulu braid (for kids) is one I got for Zoe. When she said the braids arrived she immediately asked if she could wear them or have one. They were a little too big to stay on her head so we got her the kids version which is the same exact thing….just slightly smaller. (they are made for ages 3 and up) I am happy to report this is comfortable on my five-year-olds head. She won’t wear anything all day, but she will wear it off and on as she pleases and I’m okay with that. The lulu is a simple braid style, but beautiful when worn.

  • Wow, what perfect matches to your and your daughter's hair! I would love one of these, but my darn color-treated red hair is two different colors just after it's colored and then a couple of weeks later, boo

    • you know the company has been really good about color matching! Even if it's slightly off, it can blend in nicely! I had got two braids and then colored my hair and bam, I thought i needed totally newcolors. One braid is the same color and still works! If you send them a picture they can definitely help out in color choice!

  • I am all about fuss-free styles too. I never have enough free time to do anything time consuming with my hair. These are great options!

  • These look so great on you. Plus your daughter looks so grown up with her braid. It will give you some beautiful options for holidays too.
