Do you use dry shampoos? Or body powders? I don’t really use dry shampoos since I wash my hair daily –but body powders are something I definitely use when it starts to warm up where I live. I don’t fuss around with too many brands when it comes to body powders because I found a brand about 2 years ago that I’ve loved and stuck with all this time, and that’s Cleo + Coco.
Initially, I tried this brand out because of its aluminum-free deodorants. I liked what the brand had to offer in terms of clean ingredients that I didn’t need to google beforehand and wonder what it was made out of. Over the course of a few years, I have tried to make more conscious decisions on the products I use for myself and my family. I can’t say I live a super squeaky clean lifestyle, but I’ve made adjustments where I comfortably can and personal care products is one I like to focus on. Any little change is progress to me, so I don’t worry about it too much.
Cleo + Coco offers a few different products; an aluminum-free deodorant, dry shampoo/body powders, and bars of solid cleansers. The owner, Suzanna Raff, was on a mission to create something that was effective and high-performing while using less questionable ingredients. Everything is vegan and cruelty-free and avoids all use of phthalates, synthetic fragrances, and fillers.
I really loved the deodorant at first and was eager to try a second scent, but when I did the product was a little too soft when applying and sadly messed up some of my shirts and sports bras. It was a shame because I really enjoyed using them and didn’t have the issue with my first deodorant stick, but I had to stop using it because I wasn’t willing to ruin all my tops in the name of a cleaner deodorant. Maybe different scents have a different softness to them, or maybe it’s just where I live (it gets hot here) but I’ve moved on to others in the meantime.
But I still love my body powders! Each one is formulated with minimal ingredients like arrowroot powder, kaolin clay, activated coconut charcoal and natural fragrance sources like an essential oil. They do NOT include talc in any of their products.
What I love about these body powders is that for one, they smell beautiful. I have two of the three they offer (Sweet Surrender: Lavender Vanilla, Brave Heart: Basil Mint, and Great Expectations: Grapefruit Bergamot) and help me feel fresh throughout the day (with reapplication, obviously). It helps to absorb moisture and reduce odor allowing me to feel more confident being around others in close proximity.
The pump on this body powder is great too because it has a pump nozzle instead of a shaker top which means you have a little more control over how and where it is applied. We have a container of gold bond which has a shaker top and if anyone attempts to use it, there ends up being a pile of powder on the floor which I end up having to clean up. No thanks. The nozzle on Cleo + Coco Dry Shampoo/Body Powder directs it right where you want it and I don’t need to worry of a spill if it drops on the floor, unlike our other option.
I find the price reasonable for the quality and amount of product you get ($16 each). Because I don’t need to use them year-round the two containers I have lasted me quite a while. And, you can purchase them in a few places like:
Does this sound like brand you would explore? I’m curious if they will come out with more scents. I see that they now have smaller deodorant packages available but with more options so I hope that means they will do this with their other products as well.

Though I don't use dry shampoo either, I do like to use body powder in the summer. I've actually been looking for talc-free alternatives so I will remember this brand!
I never use anything like this so it's especially interesting that you wrote about it. I think it sounds like such an interesting product.
I don't use dry shampoo or body powder, but these products sound quite interesting!
