Saltair – Serum Body Washes For Better Skin

In my casual research for more sustainable brands, I came across a really intriguing one that caught my eye with its tropical ambiance. I love anything tropical, and I mean anything. It could be home decor, clothing, or in this case, body care, and I follow my nose to the beautiful aromas that lure me in. Saltair stayed on my radar for a couple of months before I finally placed an order for a few of their body washes, and I’m glad I did.

Saltair makes serum body washes and body lotions using active ingredients like you would find in facial skincare. So not only are they designed to appeal to all senses with their exotic scents, but they formulate to create effective, nourishing body care with a sustainability plan that applies from packaging to ingredient selection.

About Saltair

When I was reading about the brand I discovered they do put in a good amount of effort to proudly be listed as a conscious brand. Saltair has made a commitment to protecting the planet through responsible packaging, eco-partnerships, and their plastic pledge. Saltair has partnered with organizations like One Tree Planted to plant more trees to help clean the air and water and has a goal with Plastic Bank to remove over 18.2 tons of plastic from our oceans.

Saltair Sustainability

They also nailed it with their product packaging. Everything is housed in 100% recyclable aluminum bottles and PCR pumps. So when it’s time to replace, you hold onto the pump, and clean out and recycle (or reuse) the bottle. The body wash serums are formulated with biodegradable cleansing agents and are cruelty-free, vegan, and gluten-free.

So just from all this, along with the tropical vibe this brand gives off, I was salivating. I wanted it all. But instead of blowing all my money on my first purchase, I bought three body wash serums in the scents I thought I’d like the most and go from there.

Saltair has seven fragrances to choose from:

Santal Bloom – rose, jasmine, sandalwood

Monoi Oil, Cucacua butter, Kukui Nut oil, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Niacinamide

(brighten skin and fade spots)

Exotic Pulp – juicy orange, succulent guava, breezy musk

Passion Fruit Oil – Ascorbyl Glucoside, Camu Camu and Niacinamide

(improve tone and brighten skin)

Island Orchid – mandarin, sea jasmine, driftwood
Orchid extract, Red Algae, Guava, Hyaluronic Acid

(rejuvenate and plump skin)

Lagoona – fizzy bergamot, sunny grapefruit, ozonic musk

Coconut Water, kukui Oil, marine-derived exopolysaccharides

(refreshing and stress-relieving)

Black Tide – mandarin, marine, white jasmine

Microalgae, Andiroba, Brazil Nut, Hyaluronic Acid and Squalane

(balance and hydrate the skin)

Lush Greens – dewy palm leaves, juicy pear, sunny lily

Sea Fennel, Willowherb, Bamboo, Niacinamide, Zinc PCA

(works on uneven skin tone)

Fragrance-Free

Coconut water, Fermented Oil Complex, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium PCA

(tone and moisturize the skin)

My Experience

For my first order, I chose Santal Bloom, Lush Greens, and Lagoona body washes. I would have gotten the body lotions too except they weren’t out yet at the time I ordered. Each bottle is 17oz and you can choose with or without the pumps when you order.

The pump tops are great and function really well. And while aluminum means there is a dent here or there, I personally think these look so nice in my shower with their bold colorings and minimalist design.

I love the idea of a serum body wash. I don’t know why that extra word in there makes it so appealing to me but it does. The body wash serums pump out as a clear gel that produces an ample amount of foam with my body sponge. If I plan to shave with it, I need another pump, but usually, two pumps are enough for my entire body.

And the scents you guys…..I mean. I try to avoid scents at times because I know too many can cause issues for me. But these are just so pretty and beautifully designed. I absolutely will be purchasing the other scents and body lotions as more room opens up in my beauty cabinets. My husband didn’t care for them as much as his Naturium Glow Getter shower gel oil, but mainly because he really needs that oil-based wash for his really dry back. If you’re into tropical nature vibes, I think you’ll really enjoy this brand. I really do.

Conclusion

Best of all? They aren’t expensive at all! $12 for a serum body wash is very reasonable to me when all these benefits get added up (sustainable packaging, effective skin-improving ingredients, appealing fragrances and…one of our more favorite, but less spoken-about features, fast shipping. The body lotions are $14 each which is also a great price if they end up being good. (I’ll let you know when I get them)

I see this brand doing well and happy I found them. I can see them expanding into possible deodorants next, or maybe a scrub to keep the scent families growing. In any case, I’m into it. I’m into ALL of it and will be back for more!

I haven’t found Saltair anywhere but on their site, so if you want to try them, you can find them here.

  • I have never tried this brand, but sustainability and healthy/safer ingredients are very important to me! Thank you for introducing me to this brand, Claudia!

  • I will put Saltair on my to try list (because right now, I'm drowning in body wash). I love the sound of the fragrances, and all of the different formulas are amazing - I don't know which to choose: probably hydrating and also dark spot fading. I love the name because Saltair is the name of a tiny town on Fire Island in New York where I used to summer years ago.

  • Hi, Claudia - Saltair definitely sounds appealing to me. I'm a tropical girl too! Lush Greens might be a safe choice for me to start out with even though I prefer beautiful scents. Natural scents might be fine for my skin, but I never know...Thanks for sharing these finds with us - Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
