Face Masks From Versed Skincare

Looking for some new fun masks to try? I haven’t been using many aside from my Beautycounter Reflect Effect exfoliating mask! But Versed had some I was interested in and I finally put them to use. If you haven’t heard of Versed Skincare, they are an affordable skincare brand found at Target and Walmart that carries conscious, sustainable skincare products and tools all under $25.

I have previously reviewed some things from Versed Skincare you can find here:

 Versed Dermaplaning Tool

Versed Retinol Body Lotion

Versed Auto Save Antioxidant Serum

I’ve been very pleased with all the Versed products I’ve tried, with the exception of one. I am currently using their gel cleanser in my shower, and there is still more I want to try!

If you’re like me, you’re constantly looking for new or fun ways to bring moisture back to the skin. Most products I choose are selected because they have some sort of hydrating/plumping benefit to them for my normal to dry, 40-year old skin.

The Hydrating Plumping Mask

Look Alive – Hydrating Plumping Mask was the first one that I tried. I actually tried it out with my daughter on a day her face was a bit pink from too much sun. Don’t worry, we did a patch on her arm first — but generally, I look at the ingredients and can tell if it’s something she can try or not. This mask could be a new favorite for me.

The product applies as a clear gel mask that you allow to sit on the skin for some time. I spritzed my face with a facial mist beforehand — something I just like to do. Glycerin, and aloe do the hard work of hydrating and locking that moisture into the skin while a plant-based collagen alternative works on smoothing texture and improving elasticity.

I found this to be very comforting and so did my daughter. We let it sit for about 10 minutes and it does absorb mostly into the skin during that time. But you do wash off at the end.

Rose Seed oil is in this formula and I think that’s what gives it the slightest rose scent in the packet. I don’t smell anything when applied to the skin though.

Would I buy it after this runs out? Absolutely yes. I love the cool refreshing feel of the gel and I like it for hydrating my skin at night. I think it would also be great before an event or date night.

The Brightening, Tightening Mask

I was a little unclear if the Photos, Please Brightening Tightening Mask would work for me, but I figured I could give it a shot and see. The reason I questioned this is that it contains kaolin clay and I was worried it would strip any oil or moisture from my skin.  It didn’t say it was for a particular skin type so that was really the only reason why I thought it miiiiight be a viable product for me.

Photos, Please is a pink clay mask that uses turmeric to brighten and offer its potent antioxidant qualities, while kaolin clay gentle exfoliates. To be honest, I’ve never known kaolin clay as an exfoliant. – but some googling did confirm that it is considered a mild exfoliant. Witch Hazel is included and acts as an astringent to tighten up pores a bit.

I tested this on my hand first to make sure it wouldn’t completely dry me out and it passed the test. I finally tried it on my face and do enjoy the texture of this mask, but I would like it to dry down less. I found it a bit harder to remove and had to use a washcloth to help. My skin did feel smooth though. I’m not sure if I felt anything tighter, but I suppose cleaning out the pores did have a slight smoothing effect that I appreciated. I, fortunately, did not experience any overdrying with this product.

The packaging is unique in that they chose it to be a big squeezy foil pack with a spout. It’s unfortunately thought to likely not be recyclable with our traditional curbside service, but Versed does have a program you can use to send them products for recycling. They will make sure it’s done if it’s possible. You can find that here

Other Details

Both masks are vegan, cruelty-free, and pregnancy safe. Each costs $10, gives around 12+ uses,  and can be found on their website as well as their shop on Amazon

Does Versed Skincare appeal to you? I think I’m going to keep trying things from this brand because I’ve had a good experience overall.
