Colorescience Barrier Pro Line
I don’t talk about Pacifica Beauty enough and I realized that I use quite a few things from them and they deserve some extra love. Recently, they sent me an assortment of things that I hadn’t tried yet, but also re-upped me on a few things I wanted again. I’m still testing out some products, but I thought I would share about a few products from their Vegan Collagen line that I’ve enjoyed.
What I like about Pacifica Beauty is that it’s affordable for most, they are accessible and easy to find in both stores and online, and they have made a serious effort to be a conscious brand by remaining vegan and cruelty-free, and choosing ingredients that they believe to be safer. They’ve been around since 1996 so it means they are doing more than one thing right!
When I was perusing the Pacifica site a few weeks back I made sure to check their new/trending section. Sometimes I miss announcements on social media so I like to see what brands have going on that’s new. That’s when their new complex lip balms caught my eye.
You guys know I raved about Biossance Squalane lip balm a couple of months back and I’ve been using it like crazy — but this Vegan Collagen Complex Lip Balm is very nice too! I’ve kept this tube at my computer desk and love the cushiony feel it provides on the lips.
With plant-based squalane (from sugarcane), vegan collagen (derived from fermentation in e.coli), Radish Root Ferment, and Jojoba seed oil work together to condition, moisturize, plump the lips.
The formula is tinted ever so slightly pink to add some color to the lips, but not by much, and is very glossy. I am also trying out the clear version of this balm which has a unique flavor to it, but love the slightly pink tint I get from this one. At only $10 a tube, you can grab one for every purse you have!

You guys know I am mostly a mineral-based sunscreen girl, but I was willing to give this everyday lotion/SPF a try because maybe someone is wondering about it. The Vegan Collagen Every Day Lotion has a next-to-nothing finish to it which I think a lot of people would like. Generally, I go dewy and don’t mind the shine but this felt moisturizing without any added shine!
The texture of the cream is soft and lightweight. You don’t feel like you have anything on after it dries down and it’s worked beautifully as a base primer for my Beautycounter and Bobbi brown foundations.
I like that this has hyaluronic acid in it, as well as aloe, and vegan collagen to plump the skin while it’s protected with SPF 30. It does have a botanical scent to it that I find dissipates after the lotion dries down, and is said to be made from natural fragrances.
I have not had any eye stinging with this one — but it’s because I won’t wear it near my eyes on a sweaty day. I do wish this was formulated without avobenzone (the number one culprit of stinging) but for a chemical sunscreen, I find it very satisfactory for me.

I’m a serum girl through and through. Serums are where it’s at! Or where I like to believe most of the actives my skin needs come from. I love using multiple serums to reap all the benefits and started adding this one in the past couple of weeks.
Pacifica’s Vegan Collagen Complex Serum features the same SR-hydrozoan polypeptide-1 (their vegan collagen) that’s throughout the rest of the collagen line. It also contains hyaluronic acid and japonica seed oil to hydrate while providing a dewy finish to the skin. It does has a fresh floral scent to it that disappears after applying and is safe for all skin types.
I like having plumper, hydrated skin so this is one that I would apply first, and then follow with either a vitamin C/antioxidant serum for daytime, or follow with a glycolic or retinoid treatment in the PM. I love how this serum absorbs into the skin and livens up a dull complexion.
Where to buy:
All of the products mentioned today are in sustainable packaging — I didn’t want to forget to mention that. If it’s not a glass bottle, then it’s a 100% PCR tube (post-consumer-recycled resin).
