Colorescience Barrier Pro Line
We’re still in Fall, but even now I start to feel the weather changing and how it affects my skin. Just the slightest drops in temps and humidity and my face dries out which is why I am starting to bring out the winter facial moisturizers that I’ve come to love over the years.
These three are fabulous choices for anyone like me. I have normal to dry skin. I enjoy a good heavy cream, particularly for nighttime, but sometimes for daytime. And I would purchase any of these again if need be.
LaLa Retro Whipped Cream has a beautiful texture to it that’s silky and creamy and is tagged as their “rescue cream” for the skin. Its vegan formula uses six African oils that make up a plant ceramide complex to replenish the skin barrier and deliver moisture right where it’s needed. Not only that, it works to diminish signs of everyday stressors like pollution with the help of fermented green tea.
What’s excellent about Drunk Elephant is that they encourage skincare cocktails. You can mix all your serums and cream on the pump and apply at the same time! It soaks into the skin fairly quickly and feels protective and comforting.
This cream has no fragrance, silicones or essential oils in it.

I absolutely LOVE the wet but creamy texture of this collagen cream and wonder how long this tub will last me! It’s so lightweight feeling but still has that extra comforting feel of a heavier moisturizer. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream is said to increase moisture in the skin by 248% within an hour and after using this I can believe it. It also has marine and plant actives (micro algae, ginkgo Biloba, etc) that work to firm the skin and lessen the appearance of wrinkles.
I cannot stress how much I love the texture of this cream. I just do. It does have a lightly fragranced scent which I consider “fresh”.
This does come in an SPF 30 version which I haven’t tried, but like that there is an option. There is also a night version which I wasn’t aware of! I thought the one I had was for day and night and used it that way this entire time.
Bottom line. This feels like luxury, baby. If you want something with a very luxe feel to it, this is it.

Farmacy’s Honey Halo has been a favorite for ages now. Its buttery, creamy texture envelops the skin to lock in moisture and is designed for normal to dry skin types. The cream uses buckwheat honey as a humectant and antioxidant source, as well as a unique ceramide blend to replenish the skin barrier.
The hexagon glass packaging is also beautiful enough to have you daydreaming about what you’ll repurpose the jar for after finishing it. This is an intensive moisture cream but can be used day and night (like I’ve done for the past couple of years!) I love pairing this with the honey grail oil for the ultimate skincare treat.
This moisturizer does have a scent to it, but it is synthetic fragrance-free as well as gluten-free.
