Derma E Skin Restore Collection trial

Have you tried Derma E before? I know some of my readers on a personal level, so I know some of you have! Derma E produces vegan & cruelty-free skincare (and some hair and body care) products using ethical and sustainable practices, and using only safe ingredients. Dr. Andrea Suarez ( @DrDrayZDay on Instagram is a board-certified dermatologist I follow and she loves the brand too!

Today I want to share two products I’ve been trying out from their Restore Collection. I haven’t come across a description for the line, but it focuses on including peptides and collagen so I know I’m in the right area! The Restore collection has several anti-aging products that include serums, moisturizers, treatment masks, and a cleanser.  I got the cleanser and a mask.

Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen Gentle Jelly Cleanser

I was surprised when I used this for the first time because of the product’s name. It says it’s a gentle jelly, so I thought it would come out much thicker…like a jelly. Wrong. It’s still fairly liquid (like a thinner soft soap) but it also has exfoliating powder in it! The exfoliating powder is very fine and meant to polish the skin. It is still very gentle and I’ve experienced zero irritation from using it.

The cleanser left my skin feeling very soft to the touch. I like the exfoliating action to remove dullness and includes a plant-based collagen to improve the elasticity of the skin. I don’t feel dried out or irritated, but I also probably wouldn’t use a scrubbing cleanser daily. I like to use retinol-based products also, so I’ll need to make sure I’m not overlapping use too much.

The cleanser has a lavender-ish smell to it which is okay. I’m not really a fan of lavender scents, but it’s a cleanser, and the scent doesn’t linger while washing my face.

This product is also gluten-free, and soy-free.

Advanced Peptides & Flora-Collagen Cryo-Gel Mask

I love using masks. It’s the added step of my routine that really makes it feel like pampering. When I saw this mask I got so excited. The 12-year-old in me wanted to try it because it was the purple jelly color. The 41-year-old me got excited when I saw the words peptides and collagen!

This purple gel mask has a cooling effect to it which is nice in the AZ heat. It says to lay it on thick and let it sit for up to 20 minutes. I thought I had applied it pretty thick but I definitely had to go thicker the following tries. It does absorb into the skin or dry up quickly. However it is disappearing; I like how it makes my skin feel super cool, hydrated, and moisturized after washing it off. I haven’t tried putting this in the fridge but I’ll probably be doing that soon.

It does have some scent to it — but I don’t think on purpose. There is nothing in the ingredient list that sounds or looks like a fragrance, so it’s just the ingredients smelling the way they do.

The mask comes in a nice glass jar. One I’d say would be a “keeper” for holding onto earrings, necklaces, or small things.

This product is also gluten-free, and soy-free.

Final Thoughts

After trying these two products, I would be eager to try a few more from this particular line. I’ve always been a huge fan of their ultra-hydrating line. My skin just loves it — so it’s nice to find some anti-aging options to add to my routine.

If you have tried Derma E, what is a winning product for you? If you haven’t tried Derma E, how do these two products sound?

  • After about 10 years or more, I guess I'm off the list, though I still have a million fab Derma E products to use up! This new collection sounds terrific. Sorry I missed it. My favorite collections are some of the Vitamin C products, the CBD collection and some of the Anti-Wrinkle. I think Derma E is a wonderful brand and so affordable
