Colorescience Barrier Pro Line
We’ve all been taught that sleeping in makeup was a big no-no — you are asking for trouble by going the lazy girl route and passing out before cleansing. But what if I told you there’s a brand of makeup that TELLS you it’s so good you can sleep in it? Meet a new favorite of mine, Youthforia’s Date Night Foundation.
Fiona Chan, Founder of Youthforia, wanted to create an everyday product that felt as luxurious as those high-end foundations out there, but without breaking the bank or screwing with her complexion.
The entire line is touted as products you can toss yourself into bed wearing, without washing your face. The ultimate lazy girl who goes out and has a life, makeup line. While my late-night days are fewer than before, a complexion product that won’t irritate or cause breakouts for extended wear is enticing. This foundation is made with 68% skincare ingredients!
Date Night Foundation is available in 15 flexible shades, and can achieve light to medium buildable coverage. The foundation is described as providing a “glass skin-like finish” but more realistically it was a natural finish with a hint of radiance. I’d prefer a little more radiance, but it is enough to help blur out and not accentuate fine lines or pores.
I prepped my skin with their Pregame Primer which smooths out the skin while giving the foundation something to grip onto. It’s one of the few primers I am willing to use. One thing I noticed was how nicely this foundation applied. The feel of it felt similar to Laura Mercier Lumiere foundation which goes on very smooth and thin.
Buffing took minimal time with their foundation brush which is vegan and incredibly soft. I used this same brush for their BYO color-changing blush oil and everything came out good.
Would I buy this foundation? Yes. I would want to try it in a darker shade. I like the weightless feel of it and the rest of their products have worked well for me. I love that if I have a late night I don’t need to lay in bed wondering what will crop up on my face from wearing it too long. I did the test, night after night. It passed!
