Keep Skin Looking Young With Colorescience

Increase Collagen With Colorescience Pep Up

I am at the age where im trying to undo skin damage while simultaneously protecting it to slow down aging.  I get lots of opportunities to try different products. I am constantly testing and rotating out new things in hopes of perfecting a skin routine that speaks for itself. It was with perfect timing that new Colorescience sent me their Pep Up Collagen Renewal Face & Neck Treatment.

I was recently given a chance to start some microneedling treatments. If you don’t know what that is, it is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy. It’s a cosmetic procedure in which tiny needles puncture the skin which initiates the skin’s repairing process and production of collagen. Collagen and Elastin are the things in our skin that make it elastic, stretchy and plump. Over time we lose that collagen,  and our skin “ages” but luckily there are things we can do to help our skin out.

Microneedling also helps the skin absorb product improving their effectiveness simply by the fact that anti-aging ingredients can reach the deeper layers of skin easier. How perfect was is that I had a microneedling treatment and Colorescience’s Pep Up Collagen Renewal Face & Neck Treatment is a topical cream I could also use to boost collagen production as the same time?!

It’s been about three weeks since I had my treatment and began using Pep Up. I love that i’m treating my skin to some of the very best ingredients that fights the signs of aging. Pep Up contains Decaplex 10 – a unique blend of peptides that boost collagen, Hyaluronic Acid that attracts moisture and plumps the skin, Phytomoist which hydrates the skin 4 times better than HA, along with powerful antioxidants and skin soothers that calm and protect the skin from infrared radiation. Did you know that even blue light from our laptops and cell phones can cause UV damage? Colorescience Pep Up also has an antioxidants that protects the skin against it!

While microneedling can only be done every month or so at first and later put on a maintenance schedule, good skincare is something that needs to be considered daily. I like that I’ll be able to help enhance the results of my microneedling with something simple I can do at home. Skin treatments can be pricey so I would be crazy to not continue on with a skincare protocol that will help maintain the results.

The treatment feels like you’re putting a light moisturizer on. It’s easy to spread and usually takes me 1.5-2 pumps per use. I am also using this in both the morning and evening for maximum results. I find it best to apply this to steamed (fresh out of the shower) or slightly wet skin. I sometimes like to use a hydrating mist and then apply and massage in until fully absorbed.

While my skin feels pretty fantastic after a hydrating spray or serum and Pep Up, I like to still use a little foundation and concealer to even out skin tone and conceal my dark circles. Their Tint Du Soleil Whipped Foundation and 3-in-1 Total Eye Treatment is great for this and wears well over Pep Up.

I’m still a few weeks out on really being able to report “results” from Colorescience Pep Up, but confident that it will help keep my skin plump and healthy looking. Colorescience has grown to be one of my favorite brands that I reach for regularly whether its their brush on sunscreen, foundation, eye treatment or bronzer. I’ve gifted the brand to friends for the holidays and regularly recommend them when anyone mentions sun protection.

Have you tried Colorscience before? Which items have you tried? There are still so many things I have on my list!

  • I've never tried Colorscience before but I've heard great things about them in the past.

    • Yes, they are cruelty free! A fantastic brand to look into if you follow CF brands

  • I love radiofrequency microneedling, it's a step up approach than traditional in-clinic microneedling… which reminds me I need to get one done soon!

  • This brand is great! I used some of their color correcting products to even out the skin tone, especially the one that helps neutralize redness.
