I’m going to be honest. I didn’t even really think I was in the market for a hair dryer. I had one tucked away under my bathroom sink for when I blow dry my hair which was becoming less and less often. I pulled it out to put it back in use and realized why I had forgotten about this one… it was super noisy and the handle was pretty disgusting. The plastic was old and felt sticky for some reason. It worked, but wasn’t enjoyable and really was time for a replacement.
It was then that the Chi Lite Carbon Fiber Dryer entered my life and I never looked back. I feel like I never paid attention to any special details on a dryer because this one felt so nice to use! Not only did it look super nice with the carbon fiber case, but the cord was super long which helps for two reasons. My vanity does not have an outlet, so I need the longer length. It also helps when you are blow drying someone else’s hair and need that extra length.
The Chi Lite is true to its name in that it does indeed feel pretty light at less than one pound. I think any of us that have long hair know how heavy a dryer can feel after blow drying longer lengths. I probably complained that my arm was going to fall off each time!
I was really excited to try this dryer because I saw it had some added attachments that I thought would work great for when I dry both my hair and my daughters. I’d never used them before and hoped they made things simpler. Sadly, for me. It did not. Haha! Front is back and left is right when blow drying in front of a mirror and I was too mixed up all the time to try and figure them out. It did look like the 360 rotating nozzle would help me but I think I just need to play with it more to get the hang of it. If I ever do, I’ll have to update this post.
I like that it has both hot and cold air options because I usually HAVE to use the cool option after finishing my hair. It gets hot in my bedroom and feels good to give a quick cool blast at the end of things. It also has a high and low setting but I usually keep it at High Heat to straighten and style my hair.
I was most surprised with how much more quiet this blow dryer is than my older ones. My daughter hates noisy things. If something is too loud she covers her ears and wants to go anywhere else. Luckily with this dryer she can tolerate the sound well and I can blow dryer her beautiful and healthy toddler hair on occasion.
I’d say the noise level is the best feature of this powerful dryer for me. I like a hair dryer that works quickly, isn’t heavy, and now leans more on the quiet side which allows me to use it on my daughter too.
The box does mention that it has ion technology that helps keep hair shiny. I’m not sure about all that business as I’ve never really read into it, but my hair is in fact smooth and shiny after blow drying which I think is partly due to your hair dryer, and some to the brushes you are using
The Chi Lite Carbon Fiber Dryer was available at Ulta at one point, but looks like it’s on sale still on the Chi Website! At $99 (on sale) I’d say this is on par with what I’m willing to spend on dependable hair tools that will last me quite some time.
Do you pay attention to the type of hair dryer you use? Have a trusty tool that you want to share with the rest of us?
I have a CHI flat iron that I absolutely love, so I am not surprised that you are having a good experience with the CHI Lite hair dryer. The fact that it weighs less than a pound is certainly appealing!
CHI is a great hair brand. I have a flat iron from them. I do pay attention to hair dryer features because my hair is so thick. I need lightweight for sure to get me through the grueling process.
CHI makes great quality tools and haircare products!
Awww you and Zoe are so cute! I love seeing your medals too. I love a good lightweight dryer. My arms get tired!
Looks like a decent drier. Your daughter is super cute! Glad it is quiet enough for her.
This makes me want to cry. I had a CHI dryer that I loved. We went on a long vacation and had a dog sitter stay at our house. When I came back I couldn’t find it anywhere. I didn’t accuse the woman because I need her more than a hairdryer but I really did love that dryer.
That looks like a nice blow drier. My old, clunky blowfrier is a hunk and junk and I should have replaced it a long time ago.
That looks like a great blow dryer. I’m in love with my Dyson.
I HATE noisy hair dryers and I like them as lightweight as I can get so this one sounds good for me.
A cool mode would be amazing! Especially when its usually hotter upstairs anyway in the summer and thats where I get ready! 🙂
I love the carbon fiber look body! I am a bit of a car nut so this fits me perfectly!
I love the Chi line and use it on some of my clients. If I didn’t already have several hair dryers I’d probably pick one of these up at that price!
I don’t always pay attention but my husband actually uses our hair dryer more than I do (I have a pixie cut, he has longer hair) so he prefers one that he can grip well
I like hairdryers with cool mode, it helps so much with the frizz!
