The Best Toothbrush I’ve Ever Tried: Burst Oral Care

I know that’s a pretty strong statement. But It’s true. My Burst Oral Care electric toothbrush is the best, and when something is the best, I need to share. Not many of you may know, but I worked in the dental industry for over ten plus years. I’ve seen and tried many toothbrushes and all can do the job, but some better than others. And being that your dental health is connected to your overall health — why wouldn’t you want the best?

I’m sure you’re thinking that your super expensive sonic toothbrush sitting in your bathroom is the best. Afterall, it came with a pretty big price tag, and it’s a big brand name that you’ve seen pushed in dentist offices for ages. Plus, it comes with that nifty travel case and charging cord so you can use it EVERYWHERE. I’m not going to knock it’s effectiveness, but that price tag kinda gives me a stomach ache.

What if I told you that my Burst Sonic Toothbrush could do all the same things, and has accessories of it’s own and ALSO costs way less. I know you don’t want to believe it, but trust me. You’re going to believe it by the end of this post.

I’m not sure what attracted me to the brand in the first place. Maybe an Instagram ad? The fact that so many hygienists were posting about it? I don’t really remember, but it made me click on their site to investigate. I had an electric toothbrush, and I’ve had sonic toothbrushes in the past so I was curious how Burst would line up against the competition. The Burst toothbrush is super sleek and pretty-looking, but was it worthwhile?

So what makes Burst Oral Care Sonic toothbrush stand out to me? Let me count the ways….

Burst’s sonic toothbrush offers 33,000 sonic vibrations per minute, making it one of the most powerful on the market. Those sonic vibrations can be set at three different levels, whiten, sensitive and massage. I’ve tried all three modes just to see what they felt like and I love the Whitening mode the most! It TICKLES my gums! Compared to my previous electric toothbrush (that wasn’t sonic) it was such a game changer. It made my teeth feel incredibly clean and my gums felt so good during and after using Burst. Sensitive feels slightly more gentle with the massage setting obviously mimicking a massage of the gums with pulses.

It also has the quadrant timer so you get your two full minutes and know when to move the brush around your mouth. And if you have a habit of pressing down too hard and eroding your gums away, this toothbrush has a pressure sensor to slow down when you get too heavy handed.

Burst is the first sonic toothbrush I’ve seen with charcoal bristles to help with whitening teeth and plaque removal. I’ve tried charcoal powders with manual toothbrushes and that was just painful and messy. Charcoal infused, soft toothbrush bristles are the way to go here. Pretty cool that they are antimicrobial also. The brush head also has ribs on the back to use as a tongue cleanser and a silicone nubby embedded in the bristles to further polish the teeth more. (you can see it hidden there in the middle of the bristles.)

The brush holds a charge for approximately four weeks. The toothbrush comes with a base that has a cord connected to it. You can charge it via a traditional wall plug or using the USB cord. I personally hate having any cords on my counter so I charge the brush, and then remove the lower portion of the base that has the cord connected while still being able to use the stand next to my sink. It could be easily knocked over because the base without the charging portion has no weight to it, but I’m careful and keep it where I wouldn’t normally fumble.

And if you’re the traveling type, there’s a nifty, compact case to store your brush in your luggage without the worry of it turning on, or getting damaged. I don’t travel much, but if I have to get ready at the gym instead of home, this comes in handy. It also works while in the shower!

The Burst Oral Care Sonic Toothbrush is only $69-$99 depending on which style you get. The Black has the standard price while my pretty rose gold version is just a little more. Guys…this is like ⅓ the price of one of the leading sonic toothbrushes on the market. I used to buy those brushes — but why would I when this one is one third the price, and holds a lifetime warranty as long as you are subscribed to the toothbrush replacement head program (which you’ll need anyways). This is a no brainer for me!

Replacement heads are only $7-8 and get shipped out every 1,2,or 3 months. Your choice! The value of the toothbrush matches up to some of the most expensive toothbrushes out there, and surpasses the quality of results you get from those other “cute” but not chargeable brushes. And yes, you can clean your teeth well with a manual toothbrush, but a Burst toothbrush has remove up to 10x more plaque and reduce gum bleeding 3x faster than a manual. So why would you stick with a manual?

Burst Oral Care also carries their own line of whitening toothpaste, refillable charcoal-coated floss, and coconut whitening strips — each available as a one time buy, or a subscription. I do hope that they have a child sized toothbrush in the works because I’d like my daughter to get that same clean and smooth feeling I get with my Burst toothbrush.

Do you love your toothbrush as much as I love mine? If not, I highly suggest you check this one out.

  • Very interesting! The feature that appeals to me most is the pressure-sensitive gauge. I know that I press too hard, but there's nothing on my Sonicare to tell me that I am. Curious about how long the brush heads last? Because of my heavy hand, the bristles start to curl after about a month. I will consider Burst when it's time to replace my current brush

  • Wow, this brush really does sound great. Plus, it’s also the prettiest on the market! Love the texture and the rose gold color.

  • I saw a small ad for this today in a magazine but had never notice it before. A sonic toothbrush makes a big difference. That rose gold would be a pretty addition to my bathroom (and mouth).
