Tower 28 Luminous Tinted Balm and Cream Bronzer

Something that I started to get into in the last year was cream-based makeup products. I tried in previous years and for some reason I found it very messy and complicated to achieve the looks I wanted. I always ended up with way too much and wrote them off as I felt like a clown. Not sure what changed but now I love them! I’ve been dabbling in a few brands lately, but really the Tower 28 BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Balm and cream bronzer has been making me really happy lately.

California-based brand Tower 28 carries a selection of lip gloss, multi-use creams for lips and cheeks, and facial mist. From the look of the brand, I feel like it’s geared toward a slightly younger audience but fortunately, cream products and glosses look amazing on all ages.

Tower 28 is vegan and cruelty-free, and avoids an array of ingredients that some prefer to avoid, and their packaging is all BPA-free.

Their Luminous Tinted Balm (also known as their Lip + Cheek Balm) are housed in super clear acrylic clam shells that allow you to see the exact color your purchased which I appreciate SO much. I mean, how many times have we all been duped into buying something thinking it’s one color and it totally isnt? Super frustrating. Aside from that, the packaging isn’t over the top, or bulky making them easy to store. Also, I can click them open easily, but my five year old cant (which is a good thing, lol).

The Luminous Tinted Balm comes in six shades that can be applied very sheer and light, or with seriously potent color. I shocked myself the first time I dipped into the color and saw that my stipple brush was a very bright pink and I could use about 10% of what was on that brush! So my first piece of advice is if you get these, barely touch the pan, or you will end up with a clown face.

The product itself looks wet & shiny once you break the surface and it applies like a dream on the cheeks. It just melts into the skin! Even when I accidentally apply too much I can usually pat and blend it out with my fingers afterward to make it look better. The first shade I ordered was “happy hour” which is a sunkissed coral pink. I’ve tried to go to my local sephora to get more colors but they have a pretty pitiful display and never have the colors I want. But eventually, Rush Hour (sunkissed peach) and Magic Hour (sunkissed rosy-nude) will be mine!

I do love the ease of these, and how they can round out the look you are creating. I like the monochromatic look of matching lips and cheeks and having just mascara on my eyes. But I do like to add in their Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer

I do find the cream bronzer slightly more difficult to work with, mainly because I question the exact placement of where to put the product. I think I get it mostly right, haha, but it did take me more practice. I like to add some in my cheek hollows and blend up, and then up my temples and along my hairline. Because it’s an “illuminating bronzer” it does have some slight golden shimmer in each of the five shades but I don’t notice it when it’s on my skin. I just do my best to create the shadow under my cheek hollows so there is more definition to my face.

I own the shade West Coast which is their medium warm bronze because I didn’t realize they had a medium neutral bronze when I was ordering on Sephora. Somehow, I only saw two shades and picked the one that I thought would work. Luckily it does, but it does make me curious about the neutral version.

I’m was contemplating getting their Super Dew Highlighting balm but I saw it in person and it’s very similar to the RMS beauty living luminizer I already own. It’s a wonderful glitter/shimmer-free highlighter that catches the light perfectly.

Have you tried anything from Tower 28? I’d love to hear about anyone else trying this brand out!

  • I keep meaning to try their products, and this that I will have to pick up a few pieces at the next VIB sale.

  • I am so glad you reviewed this duo. I have been wanting to try Tower and because I am the queen of cream makeup, these appealed to me. The balm/blush looks amazing. Have you tried the bronzer as an eyeshadow? I don't use bronzer so I wondered if it would work on lids?

    • yes! You can wear as eye shadow too. I like how mine shows up on my eyes! I'm actually adding photo and video of it within the half hour!

  • I love the look of the cream blush! I love creams for my older skin.
