You want to know about little ol’ me? Thanks! I’m flattered…..
I’m a 20-something (it official, I’ve reached the 30′s whoohoo!) living in Los Angeles; I live in yes, you know it — “the valley” with my boyfriend and dog, Sam. I studied biology and art in college with dreams of being your future cosmetic dentist. After graduating from college, I realized I really didn’t want to go back to school that long and decided to stay in the field of dental –but behind the scenes.
I spent most of my professional career working for a very well know dental Lab,XXXXXXXX Studios. I started right out of high school doing inventory for the growing company, and later worked my way through customer service to manage the department years later. It was a wonderful place to learn all about dental, really, many aspects of it that I still use today!
After graduating from college I was determined to get a job and “use my degree”, darn it! I spent all that time and money so I figured I better find a way to use it– and I did! My first job out of the dental lab was working as a applications chemist for a distributor of raw materials for personal care items (you know, the “ingredients” in your shampoo and face cream). It was a super fun job! I got to make samples of pretty much everything under the sun and then take them home to try out on myself and friends. I think everyone I knew had the telltale unlabeled-wonderfully-scented lotion bottle on their desk during my time there. However, I worked in a single person lab and even with a radio I was going to go a little nuts being in a room by myself all day long. Nope, it was time for a change.
I decided to go back to the dental lab I had worked for and further my career there. It was fast paced, there were tons of people, tons of calls; I thrived on the craziness of it all. Eventually, the excitement wore off. I knew the calls that were coming. I knew what was going to happen in a meeting. I realized I was over it and needed to figure out a new game plan if I wanted to keep my sanity.
After that job I hopped around working in dental practices helping them manage their front offices. I took a job helping re-write a dental website, and then one with internet beauty product related sales and finally landed a marketing coordinator job at a very nice practice I am proud to promote and work with. In my spare time I love to research everything on the internet, play with sam-dog, and listen to a lot of music. I love going out dancing and taking impromptu trips to Vegas, Big Bear, Havasu, or anywhere else the bf will take me!
I also enjoy taking cardio barre classes or running to stay energized.
You are now caught up on whats important to me….are you still there? I hope you didn’t fall asleep.
