Cruelty Free Makeup Remover

Maybe it’s just me, but the best part of the day is when you wind down and start to get ready for bed. I take my showers at night because thats what makes sense for my schedule and love feeling clean and refreshed before hopping into bed. Usually my winding down routine includes taking off my makeup and doing any skincare treatments I feel like doing that night. I was recently sent Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm and haven’t touched my other makeup removers since.

I haven’t tried anything from Farmacy before, although I have eyed them at Sephora several times without purchasing. Their products come across as healthy and clean and for good reason. They grow their own ingredients on a farm, and combine them in powerful ways backed by science to create effective, clean formulas. Farmacy is cruelty free, and incorporates it’s key proponent in all its products: Echinacea Purpurea, GreenEnvy; a strong antioxidant that promotes even tone of the skin. I’m definitely all for something that evens skintone with every use!

The Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm is a soft (almost cream-like) , solid oil that is housed in jar. The lid holds a mini spatula that comes handy for scooping out the small amount of product you need to remove your makeup. It has a faint scent of lime that smells good and not overpowering. The quick melting balm consists of a blend of Sunflower and Ginger root Oil that gently cleanse the skin by breaking up all traces of makeup while Moringa Tree extract helps purify the skin. Papaya extract is also included and helps with gentle exfoliation.

Just a small amount is needed for this blam to do it’s magic. I decided to try it on a heavy makeup day when I was taking photos to see how it would REALLY work on full coverage foundation, heavy shadows and lots of mascara. This stuff seriously M E L T S everything with ease. I have to say that I’m usually still left with racoon eyes after using makeup remover but not with this one. I made sure to full massage it into the skin and focus on my lids to really give it a good chance. Once water hits it, the balm emulsifies a bit to a milky liquid and rinses away leaving incredibly soft skin. It’s one of those kinds of products that makes you want to touch your face a lot after because it feels so nice and soft!

I’d love to pair this balm with some of their other products that I’ve been eyeing, such as their Honey Drop Light Moisturizer, and their Anti-Aging Kit. Christmas is coming up and I do pick the best gifts for myself, haha!

Renew Your Skin with Sugar Cookie Marini Holiday Exfoliator

marini holiday exfoliator sugar cookie review by iliketotalkblogAs someone in my mid-thirties, I really have focused in on what I’m using in the skincare department. My major concerns are that I have fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and breakouts from time to time. To make my skin feel it’s best, it’s important that I cleanse at least twice a day, exfoliate, treat and moisturize. Exfoliation being a very important step for my skin as I’ve been reminded to exfoliate often so that the rest of my products are effective.

The Sugar Cookie Marini Holiday Exfoliator is a limited edition facial scrub and it just landed on my doorstep last week. Limited edition, hence the holiday scent, sugar cookie. What’s different about this one from others I have used is that it uses both chemical and physical exfoliators to polish and renew the skin. By using proteolytic enzymes from papaya and pineapple, glycolic acid, and physical exfoliators like sugar, Jan Marini designed a face scrub that not only softens the skin, but treats it with a dimethicone based skin protectant to leave it smooth.

I like a face scrub with a good amount of grit or texture to it — which is not exactly what you should be looking for, but I found this one to have a good amount that I am pleased with. While there is a warning that there may be a slight tingle, I didn’t get that at all — just skin that was SUPER smooth to the touch. It’s a shame this is limited edition because I love anything that involves a sugar cookie. While the scent is quite faint and makes me think of snickerdoodle more, the exfoliating power is the opposite. A little goes a long way on a wet face, and I’ll be trying to stretch this out this tub as long as possible. I’ve only used this a handful of times but I can say that I’ve gotten no irritation, and can feel a difference in my skin right after using.

marini holiday exfoliator sugar cookie review by iliketotalkblogI only wish I still had the other fabulous products I’ve tried from Jan Marini such as the C-Esta Serum and the Hyla3D HA Activating Complex. I used everything to the last tiny drop!  I find all Jan Marini products that I’ve tried, to be very effective so I trust this brand.

NeoCell Beauty Chews

NeoCell Beauty Chews review by iliketotalkblogDelicious Beauty Treats

I’ve always been interested in improving my health, but I find that now as a mom, it’s harder to carve out time to do everything I want to do for myself. Things I would totally do before, fall to the wayside because I need to take care of my family first. Sometimes that leaves mama feeling a little ragged.

Aside from jumping back into a good exercise routine again, and making changes to my diet, I was also able to start taking NeoCell Biotin Bursts and Hair, Skin & Nails beauty chews that helped give me that little extra boost I was looking for. Never have I been more excited to take “my vitamin” as I have with these things!

NeoCell Beauty Chews review by iliketotalkblog

The Hair, Skin, & Nails Beauty Chews are super tasty and definitely feel like you’re indulging in a treat. I’m all about strengthening the hair skin and nails with this delicious chew that features Biotin (promotes hair/nail growth), Vitamin C (Antioxidant), Hyaluronic Acid (skin hydration) , and Collagen (skin repair, renewal). It does have a little bit of sugar, but does not have gluten, soy, wheat, starch or artificial flavors. You only need to eat one day, but I would sometimes eat a couple more because they were so good!

The Biotin Bursts were just as delicious! Soft and chewy, and make you want to eat more than one. A single chew will give you 10,000 mcg dose of Biotin and includes Acai Berry for antioxidant support! If you have weak nails or want to promote healthy hair growth, and want to do it in a tasty way — and NOT in boring blah pill form, this is for you.

Collagen is vital for healthy skin by fighting fine lines and wrinkles, maintain elasticity, and firmness. NeoCell Beauty Bursts are a great option if you’re hoping to give your skin a boost with its blend of Super Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, and Vitamin C. I found the other two chews to be more “juicy” in flavor than this one, but still better than swallowing a large pill.

NeoCell has a huge variety of supplements that can be found at CVS, Amazon, iHerb, and more. Not only do they have chews, but they also have pill form, and powders depending on what your fancy is. The prices will range from just over $10 to under $30.
