Get Glowing Skin With Borika Body

borika body scrub review by iliketotalkblogThere’s no doubt about it, I love using body scrubs! I’ve always got a tub planted in my shower and have others waiting to be used in my cupboards. OK, I may be a bit of a bath and body hoarder. You got me! So naturally, when I was contacted to try Borika Body’s organic body scrubs there was no hesitation in my response. Send them on over!

Borika Body specializes in organic, vegan and cruelty-free scrubs that are made with all natural ingredients that are safe for you and the environment. Whether you have dry, oily or sensitive skin, Borika Body has a scrub that works to improve overall tone and texture of your skin.  Each scrub is made with a blend of ingredients like coffee grounds, coconut, Himalayan salts, cocoa, or cinnamon that work to reveal a fresh, smooth and healthy layer of skin.

borika body scrub review by iliketotalkblogI was sent two different kinds of scrubs to try, their Mandarin Cocoa scrub and their Coffee and Coconut Scrub. The Coffee and Coconut scrub is suitable for normal to dry skin types and can be used on both the face and body. The formula also includes Himalayan salt which improves hydration of the skin because of the trace elements that it contains. Virgin Coconut oil deeply hydrates the skin which is the perfect compliment to my long, hot showers. It basically feels like I don’t need lotion after my bath (but I always do because I like to use it). My legs feel polished and my elbows feel smooth!

The scrub has a right amount of grit to it. Nothing uncomfortable, but has enough to make a difference in the feel of your skin. And it definitely has that deep coffee aroma once you screw open the jar and apply it all over!

borika body scrub review by iliketotalkblogThe Mandarin Cocoa scrub works wonderfully for sensitive skin types which made me a bit more comfortable trying it out on my face. I LOVED the scent of this scrub. Nice and chocolately! The special ingredient in this scrub is almond oil which is one of my favorite body oils of choice to use. It’s high in vitamin E, absorbs well, and can soothe sensitive skin. It also includes brown sugar for a good, effective scrub. I made sure to give my face and neck and good massage with this one and loved how my skin felt transformed. We often forget to exfoliate our neck, but it can make such a difference when you do. Just be sure to follow with a good facial cream or serum since the skin is prepped for ideal absorption at this point!

borika body scrub review by iliketotalkblogI like that this brand kept their products on the affordable side, capping it at $25 and under. Many times brands with organic ingredients tend to jump up in price but these are doable for me.

Softer Skin With Clover and Bee

clover and bee skincare body polish review by iliketotalkblogOne of my favorite ways to treat myself is with luxurious feeling bath products. The shower is the one place you can escape as a mom (sometimes) and getting those 15 minutes to yourself feels like bliss. The warm water, a good hair mask, a close shave and a nice scrub make that little moment absolute heaven.

When I was approached by Clover & Bee Skincare I was elated to give them a try.  Born from the idea a mom had to make healthier skincare products, Clover & Bee Skincare was created for her daughter who was struggling with severely dry skin. Best of all, using natural based ingredients, like honey that was harvested straight from her backyard hives. Natural based products appeal to me more, now more than ever. As a new mom, you are bombarded with the threat of toxins all around and you try as best you can to keep healthier, less dangerous products in the house in case your little one gets ahold of them. A product that can give me peace of mind is already winning in my book.

clover and bee skincare body polish review by iliketotalkblogClover & Bee specialized in body polishes, and have three varieties that each have a inviting scent. I chose Grapefruit & Jasmine and fell in love the minute I cracked open the jar.  YOU GUYS. This has got to be one of the most beautiful scrubs I’ve come across! Within the honey granules and sugar are dried jasmine blossoms mixed throughout. What really intrigued me is that its first ingredient was honey and not sugar! It definitely made me take a closer look at it because I never expected that.  The blend also includes skin loving oils like Babassu nut oil (which is a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil with lots of vitamin E) and Macadamia nut oil (a favorite of mine, that moisturizes and is rich in antioxidants).

clover and bee skincare body polish review by iliketotalkblogI like a good granular scrub and Clover & Bee fits the bill. I love using it after shaving my legs and on rough spots like my elbows. Some “scrubs” out there simply don’t have enough scrub to them but this one met my expectations for a body polish.

Teadora Nourishing Body Polish

iliketotalkalot iliketotalkblog reviewWhen I got a chance to review a body scrub I didn’t waste anytime signing up.  With winter here I can already feel my skin getting drier and needing a little bit more help to look healthy and moisturized.  Teadora Beauty is a natural and organic body care line that uses nourishing ingredients sourced from the Amazon rainforest.  The entire line is vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens, silicones, phthalates or sulfates.

Teadora is also a community conscience company that makes sure to use ingredients that are fair-trade sourced, and also gives back by giving some of its profits to Tiny Purple Fishes, a   non-profit organization that betters living communities in Brazil and the U.S through a partnership.

The product I was given to try was Teadora Nourishing Body Polish which can be used on wet or dry skin.  I opted to use it only in the shower when my skin was wet and ready to be polished.  During the winter I tend to get more ingrowns on my calves no matter how much lotion I slather on so extra exfoliation is definitely needed.  I found that the polish is fine-grained and not too rough.  It’s definitely worthwhile to take a few minutes per leg and really work it into the skin with small circular motions.  I also used this on my chest that needed some polishing and found no irritation occurred.

The consistency of the scrub is like a clay mask. When I looked at the ingredients I discovered that it has Brazilian white clay in it which is known to draw out impurities and is non-abrasive as it polishes the skin.  I think the little grit you do feel is the ground Acai seeds which makes you feel like you are getting some scrubbing in.

I’m a pretty aggressive scrubber for most parts of my body except my face, neck and chest,  and like a good sized grain to feel the scrub, but I did feel like this did the trick.  It is labeled as a polish instead of a scrub which makes sense that it has a more refined feel to it.
