Softer Skin With Clover and Bee

clover and bee skincare body polish review by iliketotalkblogOne of my favorite ways to treat myself is with luxurious feeling bath products. The shower is the one place you can escape as a mom (sometimes) and getting those 15 minutes to yourself feels like bliss. The warm water, a good hair mask, a close shave and a nice scrub make that little moment absolute heaven.

When I was approached by Clover & Bee Skincare I was elated to give them a try.  Born from the idea a mom had to make healthier skincare products, Clover & Bee Skincare was created for her daughter who was struggling with severely dry skin. Best of all, using natural based ingredients, like honey that was harvested straight from her backyard hives. Natural based products appeal to me more, now more than ever. As a new mom, you are bombarded with the threat of toxins all around and you try as best you can to keep healthier, less dangerous products in the house in case your little one gets ahold of them. A product that can give me peace of mind is already winning in my book.

clover and bee skincare body polish review by iliketotalkblogClover & Bee specialized in body polishes, and have three varieties that each have a inviting scent. I chose Grapefruit & Jasmine and fell in love the minute I cracked open the jar.  YOU GUYS. This has got to be one of the most beautiful scrubs I’ve come across! Within the honey granules and sugar are dried jasmine blossoms mixed throughout. What really intrigued me is that its first ingredient was honey and not sugar! It definitely made me take a closer look at it because I never expected that.  The blend also includes skin loving oils like Babassu nut oil (which is a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil with lots of vitamin E) and Macadamia nut oil (a favorite of mine, that moisturizes and is rich in antioxidants).

clover and bee skincare body polish review by iliketotalkblogI like a good granular scrub and Clover & Bee fits the bill. I love using it after shaving my legs and on rough spots like my elbows. Some “scrubs” out there simply don’t have enough scrub to them but this one met my expectations for a body polish.

Di Blasi Cosmetics

In this day in age, we are beginning to see a trend of moving toward healthier options in skincare and cosmetics and I absolutely love it!  Being pregnant, it’s now more important than ever to choose clean, natural products that will not negatively effect me or baby. However, just being pregnant isn’t the only time we should begin to consider organic, natural products…it should be all the time to keep all of us free of unnecessary chemicals in everything we use on our bodies.  Lately, I’ve been testing out a few items from Di Blasi Cosmetics, a luxury organic, natural (and cruelty free) skincare line based in Italy and I’m here to report back to you on how it worked out for me!

Di Blasi Cosmetics is the creation of Tatiana Puglisi who also thought going as natural as possible was the way to go after watching a close family member suffer from cancer.  After years of trials and tribulations, she refined the formulas to the fabulous products we see today, a multitasking makeup removing butter, a moisturizing cream, and a exfoliating bar soap.  I don’t use bar soaps often so I requested to try the makeup removing butter and moisturizing cream because these are two things I would use very often, if not on a daily basis.

The Butter Multitasking Makeup Remover is a luxe, skin conditioning treatment that comes in a heavy glass jar with scoop.  If you want to give yourself a little bit of extra luxury, you can also purchase the glass shell the jar can sit in so it looks super pretty on your vanity. What drew me to this product the most is that it is suitable for all skin types – even oily and combo which might shy away from trying something that appears to be a heavy butter.  The product appears in solid form in the jar, not cream and for sanitary reasons you definitely want to use the scoop.  I took less than a dime size scoop out and rubbed all over my face and massaged it into the skin.  Sure enough, mascara and eye makeup began to break up, and my foundation was lifted into the buttery layer on my skin.  I massaged it all in for about a minute or two and wondered how does this stuff come off?!  There are two ways, using dry cotton rounds to wipe it all away, or washing with a suggested cleansing milk. I didn’t have cleansing milk, but I do have my regular variety of face washes and opted to go the water and cleanser route to remove all traces of left over makeup and the butter. Let me tell you…not only did this remove ALL makeup (mascara, shadow, concealer and foundation), but it also left my skin feeling INCREDIBLY soft. Like baby skin soft. Which makes things difficult because with your face so clean the last thing you want to do is be pawing at it with your hands.  Let me reiterate. SO. SOFT! My skin felt moisturized, balanced and not needing any extra steps. To what do I owe the new found bay softness to? Tatiana’s blend of mango butter, shea butter, Calendula flower oil, Jojoba oil and beeswax. I never thought something with beeswax would make my skin feel like this, but she found a way!

di blasi cosmetics prickly pear and manna cream review by iliketotalkblog

Next I tried the Prickly Pear and Manna Cream after washing my face (with the butter and then a cleanser), as well as after a nice steamy shower to see how it worked in both instances. Suitable for day or night, this cream absorbs quickly into the skin and has a light, beautiful scent to it.  The full size comes in an airless pump and can also be purchased with the luxury ceramic shell display if you choose. I found that if you use too much it does take a bit longer to absorb so using a little bit at a time is the best way to go. This moisturizer left behind no greasy or heavy feel, and allowed me to put my makeup on within 10 minutes.  The prickly pear in the formula has anti-inflammatory properties while the manna (a sap) is thought to soothe, moisturize, and have anti-aging properties.  Sodium PCA and Hyaluronic acid aid in keeping the skin moisturized and holding on to that moisture while avocado oil, mango butter, shea butter and allantoin also work to keep the skin soothed and protected.

Overall I am very pleased with the two products I got to try from Di Blasi Cosmetics. I found them to be extremely moisturizing without suffocating the skin which I thought might happen with the addition of butters being used on my face. The packaging feels fancy and makes you feel like you are really giving yourself a true treat from Italy to savor.

How CUTE are these soon to be released mini bar soaps? They look like miniature presents or candy!

Do I give Di Blasi Cosmetics a thumbs up? I sure do! Even for combo (sometimes sensitive) skin types such as my own.  No break outs, no unwanted results, just soft, moisturized skin!

[Review] Nourishea’s Mango Body Wash

I found out about Nourishea through a beauty group I follow on Facebook. Someone had mentioned the company was giving away samples and to hurry on over there. So like any good beauty blogger does, I visited their page as soon as possible and put in a request. Here I am, a week later with a lovely little sample of Nourishea’s Mango Body Wash. And if I had to choose one word to sum it up? I’d say yum…and I’ll explain why.

Before I go into a drooling session about this wash, let me give you a little info on the company. Nourishea is the creation of Victoria Francis, and is a natural and green company that uses 100 % USDA Certified Organic Shea Butter. After searching for natural skin care solutions for her own kiddos, Victoria experimented with raw west African Shea butter along with other natural moisturizers and oils, creating a line of hair and skin care products that are easy to fall in love with.

Now back to the review!

nourishea mango wash[Review] The product that I got to try was the mango body wash. I requested to try this or the mango Shea butter body creme, mainly because I love scented body products and mango sounds yummy! They describe the body wash on their website as moisturizing, gentle cleansing (without sulfates), paraben-free, and free of artificial or synthetic fragrances that might irritate sensitive skin.
What makes the formula ultra pampering for the skin is the combination of organic Shea butter, Vitamin E and glycerin that moisturize and restore moisture that we lose to the booty-freezing weather! My legs dry up almost immediately during the winter months so anything that says it will give me moisture, I’m almost willing to try.

I used the shower gel with a poof and boy did that make it bubbly! I didn’t use much but I had enough suds to go over twice–enjoying every second of it because it seemed like the more I used it, the more I could smell the mango! That mango scent was seriously divine–and I’m surprised how fragrant it was for only using mango essential oil. My only wish was that I could follow it up with the mango scented body creme, because the smell was gone once the shower was done. And where did those bubbles come from? As a sulfate-free formula I expected this wash to be watery and runny in the shower, and Nourishea proved me wrong. I have had my share of sulfate-free bath products that smell great but wash down the drain before you get your hair clean–with this wash, you won’t have that problem. Nourishea’s Mango body wash is a fluid gel that gives a super bubbly bath!

My skin was nicely moisturized after the shower and did not feel tight or dry. I did still need to slather myself with body lotion and aquaphor, but hey, that’s life. The shower gel comes in two scents: mango and sandalwood.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Yesiree, I would! I would love to see it paired with the body creme and see how well they both work together. What’s nice is that Nourishea even sent me a discount code along with my sample so I could shop on the site and get 30% off! Sweet.

You can purchase the body wash for $23.00 at, or you can tweet/post to Sephora to start selling this product so you can try it out at a store near you!

Have you tried their products? What did you think? What product from their line would you most like to try?
