[Review] Miracle Skin Transformer: Healing Balm

miracle skin transformer review

It’s absolutely no secret. I am a HUGE fan of Miracle Skin Transformer and have been using their face tint for a couple of years now. I never heard of the brand before I saw it on Beauty Undercover, but it has become a staple in my makeup routine since then. I also did a review of the concealer on the Beauty Collection blog before! But it was only recently that I had an chance to test out a few more of their products and I cant wait to share them all with you. I’ve been using this stuff for about 3-4 weeks now and can truly attest that I have loved everything so far, and would love to try out more from them. Sarah McNamara has got me all figured out, and I’ll continue to thank her by purchasing her products for a very long time!

I need to tell you about the Healing Balm first though. Aside from MST makeup, this became my second love. The Healing Balm is to hydrate sensitive, or irritated skin by soothing with sometimes instant relief. Just to recap, I have skin that is normal-combo but sensitive at times. I was using Atralin (tretinoin for acne) for a while, but go on and off because it costs a lot for me without insurance. I try to keep my skincare routine pretty simple to avoid outbreaks and dry, itchy skin. MST’s Healing balm is well, just bomb! My cheeks have been getting a little wind burned by this random icy SoCal weather we have been having and they were turning a little pink. My hands were also getting extra dry at times so I thought I would give this puppy a whirl.

The balm is almost like a thin paste when it comes out of the tube. It has a blend of 30 moisturizers and emollient ingredients that help protect and repair the skin in it, so I like to squeeze the tube for a few seconds before using. While anything having to do with putting oil on my face would usually make me turn and run the other way, this balm had me going back for more and more. It become a daily treat for my skin, serving as a primer for makeup in the morning, and sealing in moisture after cleansing before bedtime.

It also came in handy for use after using the MST Hydroactive Microderm product. (My) freshly exfoliated skin is ultra-sensitive to drying out quickly and can look a little red after a scrub. This balm my my skin feel protected, smooth and moisturized without feeling sticky, or slathered on. I also want to note that you don’t have to worry about looking like a grease ball using this stuff. Even though it has oils in it, it doesn’t leave a greasy sheen. My skin looks perfectly moisturized and matte at the same time- all while helping with redness. Lets take a look whats inside this awesome stuff.

Manuka Honey: Originating in New Zealand. Manuka Honey has antibacterial properties due the high levels of antioxidant phenols such as MGO, (Methyglyoxal) which fights bacterial infections. It has been used for years to treat burns, cuts, and other skin problems. It also stimulates the release of anti-inflammatory agents in our cells to heal and soothe itself.

Tamanu Oil: Known for its skin-soothing properties and has been widely used to treat skin burns, rashes, and inflammation. Naturally germicidal, making it great for healing skin, Tamanu oil also relieves dryness, and has high levels of antioxidants.

Evening Primrose Oil: A highly skin-nourishing oil that contains essential fatty acids (such as GLA) that fight against infection and inflammation while promoting healing. It is also known to have a pain-relieving effect and has been used for things like headaches and PMS (say wha?), while making dryness, itchiness a thing of the past.

Japanese Licorice Root: Wonderful for sensitive skin. Licorice root contains Glycyrrhizic acid which has anti-viral properties. It is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties, reducing irritation on the skin, and stimulates the adrenal glands in our bodies to go to work, producing anti-inflammatory, immune-supporting corticosteroid-like actions for the skin.

Some other wonderfully healing and moisturizing ingredients included in the formula are: Olive Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Panathol, and Allantoin. All amazing stuff for your skin!

Would I purchase this stuff again? It’s really not even a question because I know I will. I’m only wondering how long the tube will last since it looks like it’s the smallest product out of the bunch. I am happy to report that I didn’t get any breakouts from the MST products I am using and found so sensitivities develop. At $26 per tube, I think thats a fair price for something that works and feels like it does. You can purchase it from a variety of places but I would suggest checking out their site first since they’ve been having some good deals on buy one product and try a few others with it.

Are there any other MST fans out there? What’s your favorite? Stay tuned for
