I’ve been on a big The Body Shop kick lately and have been slathering myself in all sorts of goodness in the past couple months. I recently reviewed some of their body products over at My Beauty Bunny (here, and here) and it has me constantly checking their site for new things I “need”. The latest items I’ve gotten to try are The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Domes. Truly, some of the prettiest and easiest highlighter and cheek colors to use that I’ve found.
The Honey Bronze Highlighting Domes comes in three colors. Shade one being the lightest and truest for “highlighting” cheekbones with its golden shimmer. Shade two being a coral-gold color that is perfect for a swipe of cheek color. Shade three is the bronzer of the trio being the darkest with its almost copper-brown-gold color that makes contouring a breeze. The domes are a perfect chubby size to swipe on cheeks, brow bones, and clavicles and their creamy formula goes on light, but buildable.
The highlighted ingredient of the Honey Bronze Highlighting Domes is the community fair trade honey from the UNESCO Sheka Forest Biosphere Reserve in Ethiopia. Bamboo hives are hand-built for those busy little bees to create their sweet honey before it’s collected and filtered by families with a long history of bee-farming. These same families who built a tradition of bee-farming to be passed down from generation to generation, also promote a sustainable forest for all of us to benefit from with their wild-harvesting methods.
I love how these Honey Bronze Highlighting Domes are light and not heavy. I have combo skin and usually steer clear of any makeup that has a creamy or balmy feel to it because I immediately think of clogged pores. And while I do have breakouts on my skin, I don’t see that that these domes caused any more than the ones I usually have already! I’d be interested to try their other honey bronze products such as the Honey Bronze Tinted Face Gel which gives some matte bronze color, and the Honey Bronzer Shimmer Lip Balm which sounds yummy and pretty.
