Crystal Hills Organics Review

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogI’ve always enjoyed trying out different bath and body products and have recently been reaching for Crystal Hills Organics body serum and bath salts. Crystal Hills Organics is a cruelty-free, Canadian based skincare brand that combines the healing power of crystals with the beautifying abilities of natural ingredients. The founder, Andrea, made sure to formulate her products by using organically grown ingredients wherever possible for the purest, and most luxurious skincare treats she could offer.

Andrea sent me a couple of products to try and with perfect timing. I will admit that I usually am drawn to skincare products that are heavily scented with tropical fragrances — however it seems those fragrances have turned against me and caused a bit of my rash on my legs. I needed to switch to something with a simpler ingredient list and decided it was a good time to give Crystal Hills Body Serum a try.

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogThere are four versions and I chose Moon Goddess Body Serum. Moon Goddess has notes of jasmine, frankincense and neroli essential oils that smells beautiful but not overpowering in any way. The serum is extremely lightweight on the skin and uses a blend of botanicals and skin loving oils that nourish, hydrate and protect the skin with the power of antioxidants. Meadowfoam oil and Elderberry Extract are two antioxidants I was excited to see in the formula since I know they are really beneficial to the body. Each bottle of body serum also includes a small piece of clear quartz which is thought to harmonize the chakras and balance energy. I will be honest — I am not familiar with any of that stuff, but sounds good to me! Balance is never a bad thing!  My first impression of the serum was that this left my skin velvety soft. I’ve never had an oil based product produce that type of feel before and was highly impressed. The oils absorb very quickly and soothed my irritated legs within a couple days. I shave every day so an after-bath moisturizing product is a must– and I’ve been using this EVERY DAY since I’ve received it!

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogAndrea offered to send me a second product when she saw that I loved the body serum so much so we decided on the matching bath salts!  The salts are seriously ALMOST too pretty to use! It comes with a small muslin bag to pour a small amount of salt in to soak in your bath. I realized after receiving that I still take baths with my little girl and wasn’t sure about using bath soaks with essential oils in them with her sitting in it for long periods of time — so I decided to treat myself to a warm foot soak and pedicure after her bedtime. I used a taller bucket so I could really fill it up and added the little baggie to the warm water. I loved the aroma it produced and was very relaxing as I watched a little TV at night. Crystal Moon Goddess Bath Salts uses a variety of salts like Solar Dried sea salt and Dead Sea Salt and MSM to relax the muscles, reduce inflammation and detox the skin. I’ve never thought to give my foot soak a hand full of bath salts before and I feel like I’ve been missing out! I may need to give my daughter an earlier bath so I can give this a try without her around!

**EDIT — I found out we CAN use the salts with my daughter in the bath so we’re going to give it a go! **

crystal hills organics review by iliketotalkblogI highly recommend these products if you’re looking for a way to treat yourself (or another) to a fabulous skincare treat. I only wish the matching body scrub was available at the same time since I’m a huge fan of scrubs!
