Clean Beauty Find at Walmart: Kiwi Botanicals

Since moving to Arizona, I find myself shopping at Walmart way more simply because it’s the closest store to my house. I get my groceries there, but I also visit the beauty aisles to see what they carry since I really never checked it out as much while living in California. To my surprise, I found that Walmart is carrying its own clean beauty brands at affordable prices that found their way into my cart.

I’m still testing a few other brands I discovered there, but wanted to share about Kiwi Botanicals since I’ve been really excited about finding a bath and skincare line that features Manuka Honey. If you didn’t know, Manuka Honey can be almost be considered a superfood with enormous health benefits to us. Honey in general has antibacterial properties but Manuka Honey that comes from New Zealand specifically is like SUPER honey with superpowers. Not only does it support a healthy digestive system, but it can also help with acne and It’s even been used in hospitals to help heal wounds that are antibiotic-resistant! Manuka Honey is chock full of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids and has been used for over 2000 years by the Maori people of New Zealand. Pretty cool, isn’t it?!

I put Manuka Honey in tea and yogurt, or eat it plain right off the spoon! I also use it for face masks when feel like treating myself to a hydrating, acne-healing DIY mask. Can you imagine how excited I was to find a brand that incorporates this wonderful ingredient into products that I could use daily? *Tosses entire shelf into shopping cart*

I love a good body wash and their shower gel is a must-have in my opinion!  The nourishing shower gel has a stronger, sweet honey scent to it and touts skin-softening benefits. The soothing shower gel version includes chamomile and a more delicate scent, and a purifying shower gel that incorporates charcoal into its formula. The two that I purchased produce lots of bubbles, rinse clean, and never leave my skin feeling dry. I also love the big bottle size which means I’m more willing to share with my husband!

I’ve never tried an in-shower lotion before but their Soothing Body Conditioner with Shea Butter was too irresistible to pass up. This super-soft cream comes in an easy to scoop tub and I slather it on near the end of my shower while I shave. I love the light scent of the soothing version and it feels hydrating on the skin. I actually find it to be a great post-sun treat and also a good shaving lotion to avoid nicks and cuts. It rinses away easily even when you apply a thick coat to sink in. I’ll be repurchasing this when it runs out but I’ll try the nourishing version next time.

If an in-shower lotion doesn’t appeal to you and you still prefer to use something afterward, Kiwi Botanicals has body lotions in both nourishing and soothing formulas. To be honest, I don’t find much of a difference in each of the formula’s I bought except for the scent. However, I do still enjoy using them and switch off depending on how I feel. Each lotion contains squalane (helps maintain moisture levels, works as an antioxidant) and honey extract to hydrate while the nourishing version also includes oat extract to help soothe itchiness from super dry skin.

Even though it’s 110 degrees in the Summer where I live, I had to grab the Nourishing Body Butter as well. The Body Conditioner and body lotions do the job quite well, but sometimes I like to use body butter on my legs and feet before bed and figured if it was too heavy I could save it for Winter. That said, I will be saving this product for the Winter months. This rich body butter made with shea butter is simply too much for Arizona summers and will be much appreciated in the cooler months ahead. I imagine if I was still in California I could use this on my legs for some deep hydration and a little leg shine. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, I really do love the scent of honey in this product and enjoy putting it on when I can.

Kiwi Botanicals also makes a few facial skincare products. I haven’t had a chance to get them all, but I did grab the Brightening Honey Melt which caught my eye. I wasn’t sure if this was going to simply be a makeup remover or a true cleanser but soon learned it is a true facial cleanser that changes from a viscous honey-like liquid into a foaming wash. I haven’t tried it with heavy makeup since I tend to keep things light but it did leave my skin clean and refreshed feeling. The brightening version contains totarol, a super antioxidant that’s three times stronger than Vitamin E!

I appreciate that the Kiwi Botanicals line uses ingredients that help improve my skin and offer some antioxidant benefits while keeping it clean, comfortable, and delicately scented. I also am happy to see that they are certified cruelty-free by PETA and ensure their products are manufactured under fair conditions.

Most Kiwi Botanicals products are under $7 but can go up to $15 when choosing the facial skincare products. I would highly suggest checking out the body wash and body conditioner as a nice treat for your skin. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this line and will be back for more!

  1. I’m like 2 minutes away from my local Walmart but I have a confession to make…. I haven’t been there in years. Crazy ha? This line sounds delectable from your description.
