My attempts to live a healthier lifestyle really took off when I had my daughter. I wanted to set a good example and be around for as long as possible to enjoy seeing her grow up into a wonderful woman. She is now four years old and I can say that I am learning something new constantly. There is always a way to improve whether it be how I eat, how I train, how I handle stress, or how I self care. I enjoy the journey and like knowing that I will be heading into my forties giving it my all, living my best life!
Exercise has become crucial for my physical and mental health. Getting some movement in, plain and simple just makes me feel good. It gets the endorphins going, loosens up the joints, makes me stronger, builds my confidence and makes me want to reach new goals. I’ve recently started doing Crossfit and can see how it’s changing me in a positive way and also has made me more aware that I need to work on my mobility more. I try to carve out just ten minutes a day where I work on mobility movement so I have more comfortable workouts and can avoid injury. Working on flexibility and mobility means putting on the appropriate clothes and my No Nonsense Leggings are perfect for my mobility time. They move and flex with me, and have a super comfy waistband that doesn’t dig in, even on my puffiest days. Not only are they comfortable enough for lounging in, but fashionable to wear out on a Target run too! ( Use code: Sport25 for 25% off)
I have a confession to make. I don’t always wear my wedding and engagement rings. GASP. Mainly because a stone fell out one time and I’ve been forever paranoid that another one would fall out and how RIDICULOUS of me to even think I should be wearing my rings during a workout. But now that I have a RingHero I can proudly wear my rings and stash them away safely when needed. The RingHero slips easily over my hand and fits snugly during any activity without getting in the way, just like a wristband.
I never liked the idea of hiding jewelry in my bag either in case someone stole my bag so this is perfect for me! I might have to get a second one in the lux leopard print because I’m kinda crazy for animal prints right now. Want one too? (Get 10% off yours with code: BabbleBoxx10)
While I believe leading an active lifestyle is critical to having a healthy immune system, I am not against supplementing and strengthening it with a good probiotic. Ancient Nutrition’s Ancient Nutrients Zinc + Probiotics couple immune-supporting enzyme-activated zinc with 2 billion CFUs of probiotics to keep my gut healthy and aid with better digestion. Something that I pay attention to since I do moderate to high protein intake. It’s easy to take it in the morning with my post-workout shake and gives me confidence I’m giving my body everything it needs to start the day off right.
Good nutrition is truly the key to healthy living. Exercise is awesome, but I’ve come to learn how important it is to fuel your body properly and consistently. As an athlete, I know that keeping my protein levels high is critical for maintaining or increasing muscle mass. I usually use a whey-based powder for that, but enjoy taking a collagen supplement to support healthy joints, supple skin and hair and nail growth. I find it easy to add an extra scoop of collagen to my daily protein shakes and find it undetectable in most drinks I add it too. Collagen is the building block to several parts of our body and a good supplement is something we can all benefit from. Ancient Nutrition Multi-Collagen Protein contains five types of collagen sourced from pasture-raised, cage-free, and cruelty-free sources (bovine hide, eggshell membrane, hydrolyzed fish collagen, and chicken bone broth). Each scoop has 9g of protein and works well in drinks as well as mixes like pancakes or cookies! I might be stating the obvious here, but when you fuel your body well, you actually FEEL better too!
I should also say that if you have a super busy or hectic lifestyle looking into a meal prep or meal delivery service is a game-changer. There are weeks where I feel like my head is spinning because I have so many things on the schedule and cooking is usually the last thing I’m thinking about! The last thing I want to do is resort to picking up food through the drive-through because that catches up to you quickly, and quite honestly, I feel awful the next day. Veestro delivers pre-made nutritious and delicious plant-based meals right to your door! As someone who has tried a few plant-based frozen meals I was a bit weary, but the food heated up nicely and tasted so good! The Chik’n nuggets and Chik’n Quesadilla were big hits for my daughter and I! It made it so easy to just heat up the meal as I finished work instead of getting tied down into chopping, cooking and the dreadful cleanup. And so many options like Turkish Meatballs, Portobella Steak, Asian noodle salad, or a variety of pizzas and more! If you’re looking for a no-fuss way to jump-start your nutrition goals, you can try Veestro and save 25% off with code BABBLE25 — good until October 31st, 2020!
I do tend to focus a lot on the physical aspect of health by watching what I eat, tracking macros, maintaining a good exercise schedule, and resting as needed but there is one part that I don’t do enough of that I will be working on and that’s more self-reflection. Taking the time to understand my own actions, feelings and motives helps to build my emotional self-awareness and ultimately can further propel me forward with my goals. Learning to be more confident and strengthening my emotional intelligence will always benefit me relationship and work-wise so why not spend a little time on it? I found that the Amenti Oracle Feather Heart Deck was a fun and interesting way to self reflect. The oracle deck can be used for intuitive card readings that really help you dig into the “why” some things happen, and what to work on for the future. I appreciate that there is an illustrated guide book included that help you decipher which type of card reading you should try and how to read the cards. I look forward to trying the different types of readings but found a three-card reading the most practical for me at the moment since I am new to this.

I didn’t know Nononsense made leggings! And the ring stash is a genius idea.
I need to try Veestro! Their products sound really yummy!
Okay you need to become an official fitness wear/legging model – you make them look so good!
I need the wrist band. One time I was making vegan sushi so I had to remove all my rings….. que horror, when I was done cleaning my mess, I was frantically looking for my rings….. good lord, I had to search the trash can one by one, I was able to only retrieve 2 and totally lost the other one. So thanks for this nifty recommendation
Same on the rings! I only wear the real ones when I’m confident I won’t lose or damage them. Otherwise I just wear a silicone one from Enso.
Right now the only ring I wear daily is my Oura Ring (sleep + fitness tracker). Loved seeing what you recommend!
No Nonsense products were my go-to products when I was teaching. I think I wore different ones each day. Interesting mix of products they sent you and they are all perfect for you and your lifestyle.
