New From Farmacy Beauty : Filling Good
Have you guys tried Farmacy Beauty before? I’ve been using their products for at least a few years now with their Green Clean Cleansing Balm being my number one product from them. That stuff whisks away makeup and sunscreen and leaves your skin fresh and soft…so much that I have bought countless jars of the stuff! They’ve been coming out with new products every so often, but they finally came out with Filling Good, a hyaluronic acid serum which I was excited to give a try.
About a month ago I sat in on a virtual launch event to hear all about what was new at Farmacy Beauty and their plans for the company. It was actually quite interesting to hear about some of the things they will be changing to become an even more sustainable brand. For one, they plan to switch their packaging to be 100% waste-free by 2022 AND working with Feeding America and Second Harvest to fight hunger in the US and Canada. They really make you feel like they are a company that cares and working to change things for the better.
But back to this serum. I love hyaluronic acid serums! I use them daily and believe they do hydrate and plump my skin to my liking. A lot of serums I used in the past mainly stuck to one main active ingredient, but lately, I’ve been seeing that these HA serums tend to add more actives to the benefit of my skin. A few key ingredients in one product can be helpful to save time and steps in a routine, you just need to be careful and make sure you’re skin agrees with it as well.
What makes Farmacy Beauty Filling Good different is the emphasis on plumping the skin in multiple ways. Not only does their formula contain various types of hyaluronic acid to penetrate the skin at all levels, but encapsulated thyme extract, amino acids, a proprietary honey blend, and a vegan collagen synthesis promoter. I should note that the brand says it’s vegan collagen but from everything I’ve been told and googled, vegan collagen is not actual collagen, but the “ingredients” that help our bodies create more collagen on its own.
You may be wondering what encapsulate thyme extract does. I did when I first heard it because I think if thyme as something you use in the kitchen, not necessarily your skin! Thyme extract is used to visibly reduce fine lines on the skin which my squinty eyes are thankful for. I have permanent 11’s in between my brows, but maybe the crow’s feet area has hope!
Collagen is important because it’s responsible for our skin elasticity and bounce. As we get older, our skin gets thinner and we get more wrinkles as our own collagen production reduces. I’m not sure if topical collagen or collagen we eat is better for us, but I do both anyways by using this product along with my own sport supplements.
Honey acts as a humectant for the skin to draw in that much-needed moisture along with antioxidants. Amino acids are the building blocks of peptides and proteins and enhance the ability to firm the skin. And I don’t mind extra firmness either so this formula is intriguing to me. It seems to offer a lot in one serum and it’s a brand I trust.
The bottle dispenses nicely, and I use somewhere between 1-2 pumps for my face and neck. Although, I do find myself trying my best to stick to one pump because at $44 a bottle I want to make it last!
The serum feels very nice on the skin. I like to apply this after I’ve misted my face or used a toner to aid in hydration. My skin drinks this stuff up and doesn’t leave it tacky or sticky while absorbing. And my skin feels great with it on, my only issue is the scent of thyme in the product.
I was really hoping if the product had any scent to it at all. It would smell like honey. The labeling is gold, the liquid is gold in color….and then it smells like thyme. I don’t get it. I’m laughing as I type this because it’s really not THAT big of a deal for me, but more a preference. For those sensitive to scents in general I think this one has a pretty strong smell, but it does go away after you’ve moved onto the next step.
I’ve worn this with different combinations of using Mikel Kristi Peptide serum, Dermalogica’s biolumin C serum, Sunday Riley A+ Retinol serum, FAB collagen firming cream along with a variety of foundations and never experienced any piling which is so frustrating when it happens because you have to figure out which product is the culprit.
To me, this is a pretty high-end HA serum. It costs more than my recently used up FAB ultra repair serum, and a lot more than my budget Earth To Skin Manuka Serum. I tend to use a lot of HA (both morning and evening) so I will need to assess how quickly I go through this product. I do really love it, I think it feels great on the skin giving it a nice hydrated glow.

I love Farmacy Beauty skincare. I recently bought the Very Cherry Cleansing Balm - it is divine!
This sounds perfect for plumping fine lines! I am a big fan of HA serums, and I think that I would really like this one– especially since it's a clean brand!
Oh I am definitely a Farmacy fan! I use their cleanser and makeup melt. This HA serum looks amazing too!
I'm sad that I've kept away from Farmacy because of the fragrance. They use such quality ingredients.
This is an exciting launch because I'm always looking for a nice hydrating serum to add to my routine!
