Coconut Oasis from Lather

At the end of last week, I felt very special to be invited to the local LATHER store in Phoenix to come check out the new mineral sunscreen they had released. I haven’t been to many PR events or launches, well, actually none, since I moved to AZ, and LATHER is a familiar brand from my past so I was excited to go! It was great to see the store setup, poke through all the products they had available and test some things I never tried before. I went home with a bag of goodies to try, and know I’ll be back in the future for more. It’s also situated in a nice outdoor shopping area so I can bring my family for lunch and then wander around for another hour or so.

Today though, I wanted to share two of my favorite products from LATHER. Ones that I immediately ripped into the day I got home because I love them SO much. So if you are a fan of coconut, you’re going to want to hear about their Coconut Oasis duo which includes their Coconut Foaming Body Scrub and Coconut Creme Body Whip.

The Body Scrub

I’ve always enjoyed the uniqueness of a product like the Coconut Foaming Body Scrub. It’s already a wonderful exfoliator, but to add in the bubbling and foaming action makes this a must-have for shower time. When you first open it, it looks like kinetic sand. The kind that sticks together and molds into shape! It’s actually quartz (yes, ground quartz!) jojoba beads, sugarcane, and powdered coconut and walnut shells that offer gentle exfoliation for polished smooth skin.  With the help of a little water and massage, this scrub turns nice and bubbly, allowing for you to use it as “soap”. Everything rinses away clean which I really appreciate because I have another scrub that sticks to my legs and the water pressure isn’t enough to remove it.

The scent of this is absolutely enticing to me. I know coconut is in here, but I smell almond in it more. That’s a non-issue for me because I love the scent of almonds, it’s absolutely delicious and makes me think of Christmas cookies I make!

Lather’s Thoughts On Synthetics

I should stop here and discuss how much LATHER prides itself on the fact that they don’t use synthetic fragrances in their natural skincare, and opt for vegan and gluten-free ingredients whenever possible. The scent is very much on the light side. Enough for you to smell and enjoy as you apply, but doesn’t suffocate your entire bathroom with scent.

The Body Moisturizer

After showering, I’ve been treating my skin to the Coconut Creme Body Whip. I would classify this as a lightweight body butter. It sits in the tub appearing thick to the eye, but you find that when you reach for a soft sweep across the top of the creme and massage it into the skin, that it absorbs rather quickly without leaving any greasy feeling behind. The ingredient lineup is on point, with it including coconut oil to nourish and moisturize the skin, glycerin to trap in moisture, and aloe vera that deeply hydrates.

Coconut, combined with extracts of vanilla,  anise, almond, and tonka bean creates the beautiful scent that envelops your skin as you apply. I smell more coconut and hints of almond here. Sort of a flip flop of the foaming scrub in terms of scent. The scent dissipates as you get dressed, but you can still catch the aroma if you smell your arms later on in the day!

I can wear this creme in the hot AZ Summers here without it melting or making me feel “slick” later on in the day, and look forward to using it throughout the cooler months too. Well, if it lasts that long!

Where to Buy

Both the scrub and creme are sold separately, but you can pick them up as a set (the coconut oasis set) and save a few dollars. I’d love to grab their Coconut Creme Body Wash to complete the coconut family of products for days or places where you don’t need to use scrubs.

I still have a few other items I’ll be sharing from Lather in the next couple of months as I space the products out. I don’t want to run through all of them immediately!

Have you tried anything from LATHER before?

  1. Both sound lovely because I love anything coconut and almond. Does the scrub leave the shower floor greasy (because I am so lazy!)?
