I’ve always admired the looks created by Charlotte Tilbury. Pinky nude tones are my jam and I think they are quite flattering on a lot of people. I purchased a face palette about five years ago and still use it today (yes, I know that’s long but it’s still good!). I had also purchased the ever-famous pillow talk lip pencil and matching gloss which has since been used up and needs replacement. But instead of replacing what I already tried, I was able to get my hands on a few more items from the pretty pinky-nude pillow talk family of products.
A Glossy, Hydrating Lipstick-Balm Hybrid
It was love at first swipe when I tried Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss. Seriously, I thought it was a sheer glossy balm but it’s a super nourishing lipstick with full color. Happikiss is one of the most moisturizing lip products I’ve come across. It can be glossy like a gloss, with the opaqueness of lipstick. If you like juicy lips this might be one for you.
The formula contains hyaluronic acid which plumps up the skin f the lips, c-peptides to help with fine lines, and nourishing butters and oils to round out this treatment-like lipstick. I would actually love this in clear because it feels so good on the lips! Crystal also looks like a nice light color I’d like too. I would change the packaging though. At $34 a tube, I want something to feel more luxe in hand. The tubing is plastic, which is the primary material used for housing cosmetics, but it’s super lightweight and feels like it would break. I would expect metal tubing to give it a more substantial feel. I also would like packaging that allows product to retract back into the tube, fully. Once you “click” this one up, it doesn’t go back down, so be aware! This is more of a lip balm packaging, which CAN work…but for the price tag, I want something a little more glamorous to match the performance of this awesome lipstick.
The Perfect Nude-Pink Eye Quad
I also got the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in Pillow Talk which contains four nude-pink tones in both (2) matte and (2) shimmery/satin shades. All four shades apply easily. I see no fallout or dust kicked up when I run a brush or finger over them. The packaging is as you would expect for a prestige brand like Charlotte Tilbury. The quad, while plastic, has some weight to it, and includes a mirror. The inside part hs has the typical rose-gold metallic mirror packaging which makes it look extra fancy too. Shade 1, a shimmery champagne shade is one I like to use at the brow bone, but can also be used across the entire lid for a natural eye-brightening daytime look. Shade 2 (top right) is a total match for the Pillow talk Happikiss lipstick. I used this on the crease but can also be used for the entire lid. Shade 3 is a more glittery pink-gold that can be used as a topper or inner eye corner enhancement, and the last shade is a pink-brown that can help create depth and used at the lash line. I like these colors and intend to play with this way more to see what I can do with it. I think it really can make blue eyes pop, so lucky for me!
Lashes For Days
Last, is the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara. You guys know that my new favorite is the Beautycounter Think Big Mascara. It’s amazing in every way possible! So any other mascara has serious competition with that amazing metal tube. But even though I have a die-hard favorite, I am open to trying new ones and this one was actually pretty awesome! It has a brush wand that’s reminiscent of the Ilia beauty one which is very unique. It’s not the same, but more like a related cousin; you see the resemblance but not exact. The wand is able to define lashes very well. The formula coats lashes but is not thick. I LOVE when I can see individual lashes on me instead of clumps. Clumpy mascara makes me tense up, haha. Because I know it could be better! My lashes are lengthened, defined and haven’t had issues with smudging or removing. I have to admit it comes off way easier compared to my favorite BC, and the brush never looks clumpy so I keep it into my routine. I swore I would never spend more than $15 on a mascara, but at $29 I would consider this one because It performs better than the handful of drugstore options I have and stopped reaching for.
All in all, I really enjoy exploring Charlotte Tilbury products. I think they look nice on me, and I like the color schemes she has available. It is on the higher end price-wise compared to some of my usual brands in previous years, but again, quality is there, so I am open to buying. I am curious about their flawless filter which gives you a glowy base, and their smoky eye crayons which look amazing for a night out.
Have you tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury? What are your thoughts on the brand?
