Oh how I love Farmacy Beauty. I’ve been using them for years, and have enjoyed seeing when they launch new products that I can try. Today, I wanted to share more about a product that ISN’T new, but rather something I’ve been using for about two years now. This is something that I have purchased on my own, but Farmacy was kind enough to recently send out a mailer including their new jumbo sized, Honey Halo Ultra Hydrating Ceramide Moisturizer.
Honey Halo is going to be suitable for normal to dry skin types like mine. It offers intense moisturization with it’s rich cream formula. Ceramides help protect and strengthen the skin barrier while antioxidants do their work to slow the effects of time on our skin. Farmacy is proud to claim that it can boost moisture levels by 8 fold, and improve the skin barrier by 4 fold.
Buckwheat Honey is included in this face cream, and for good reason. It has high levels of antioxidants and can deeply moisturise the skin. Honey in general is a valuable ingredient in skincare, and I often find myself drawn towards products that include it, particularly Manuka honey, but that can be costly and not always necessary. In the past, I would use straight honey directly on my face for DIY masks, but now prefer to use something formulated by professionals.
Ceramides are the lipids that create the barrier for our skin. Not only does it help the skin lock in much needed moisture, but can also help keep skin healthier by keeping the bad stuff out. When our barrier is compromised, our skin feels irritated or looks unhappy. Ever put on a product that stung your skin for no reason? It might be because your barrier has been compromised by too much exfoliation or not enough occlusive products to keep moisture in.
Fig extract, shea butter, and Royal Jelly are also notable ingredients that help nourish the skin. Each has a variety of skin-loving antioxidants, boost moisture levels which improve elasticity, leaving skin feeling smooth and plump.
The best way to describe this cream visually, is that it looks like creamy butter in a pretty hexagon jar. It’s so beautiful in the jar, it’s almost a shame to dip a spatula in it and mess up the beautiful swirl you see. I believe the word I’m looking for is thixotropic. Meaning it’s a cream that won’t budge if you put the jar upside down and looks like a solid, but can easily be sliced through it with a spatula or finger. Have you opened a jar of Crisco before? It acts like that!
The scent of this product is faint to me. I just watched another blogger rave about the honey scent but it’s hard for me to claim the same when I can barely detect it myself. I literally have to stick my nose in the jar to smell “honey”, and I can’t smell it on the back of my hand when I apply it.
The jar alone is talk-worthy. These are jars you will not want to toss or recycle. Well, maybe. I’ve kept a couple of these jars in the past, not sure what I would use them for, but I just loved how beautiful they were. If you’ve visited Farmacy’s Instagram page, you’ll see that people use them for all sorts of things and Farmacy encourages it since they are an eco-conscious brand. Store jewelry, plant seedlings, all sorts of things!
I mainly use this cream at night, but it has worked well under a handful of foundations that I’ve tried. I love a hydrated, glowy base to work with!
Farmacy used to only have one size available of this moisturizer, but they now have three with the latest addition being the JUMBO size which is a limited edition available only on Farmacy.com ($90 value but only $68)
If you prefer a try before you buy (BIG), I would suggest looking into their value sets which include smaller sized products at a good price. Specifically, the Honey Harvest Hydration set (which is also limited edition)
This has already been repurchased, but as I said, Farmacy gifted me more that will keep me quite set for a while –but if needed, I WOULD buy again.

I like Farmacy products a lot, and the Honey Halo Moisturizer would be perfect for my dry skin this winter. And I agree, the jar is drool worthy!
That moisturizer looks and sounds amazing! The jar is so gorgeous that I would repurpose it afterward!
Hi, Claudia - Moisture levels and skin barrier are so important, as a dermatologist has recommended to me many times. Royal jelly is a precious ingredient, obviously making this a rich cream worth its price point. Lucky you that you now have the jumbo size of this wonderful product that works so well for you! Great review. Thank you - Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
This sounds like a product my finicky skin would love. And it looks beautiful in the jar.
I've considered Farmacy many times but I am always concerned about the fragrance. I'm so sensitive to fragrance so with insomnia I usually avoid things. But if you say you can't really smell it then it's worth checking.
