Colorescience never ceases to impress me with the products they release and their latest Endless Sunset Color Balm Collection is no exception. While color balms are not new (see previous collection here) to Colorscience, this shade family is! To quickly recap why Colorescience is such a badass brand to use, they focus on creating preventative skincare. Their products are mineral-based and formulated with potent antioxidants and botanicals that are clinically tested and proven to work. They don’t just carry sunscreen! They have sun protection products, makeup, and skincare!
The previous color balm collection was their first and I loved it. It was fun and exciting to see that a mineral sunscreen was turned into a true makeup product with serious sun protection power. I love that their Sunforgettable products all have SPF50 and the balms have can be used in multiple ways. The original set also had three shades (berry – raspberry hue, blush – nude with pink undertones, and bronze – a shimmery golden color).
The new Endless Sunset Collection has colors that work even better for me though! It still has the same creamy formula that uses zinc oxide for mineral-based SPF 50/PA+++protection, as well as their patented Enviroscreen protection that offers a hydrating, antioxidant-infused formula that fights free radicals.
The three new shades are:
- Pink Sky: warm, rosy pink
- Violet haze: cool, pinky-purple
- Golden Hour: warm, pearlescent coral
Out of the three I find myself reaching for the most since I love bright peachy/coral shades in the summer. They also seemed a bit softer and easier to work with than my previous set, but maybe my old ones were drying out. With these, I can easily rub my finger over the top of the color stick to get the amount of color I want.
It’s very easy to build up color with these and you can even layer them to create your own custom shade. For my cheeks, I pat it on with my fingers and then blend it out with fingers or my real techniques expert face brush, my favorite for cream blushes. I haven’t used these much on the eyes, and generally stick to the cheeks and lips but it does create a nice monochromatic look when you do all three.
For the lips, I would recommend using a little bit of lip balm underneath for more slip. My lips are usually on the drier side so if it’s not a “shiny” product I do this. And if you really want staying power for the eye application, I would recommend an eye primer to help it hold a little longer. The color balm wear time works for me, but I’m also fine with makeup slightly fading away by the end of the day. I’m too lazy for most touch-ups!
Right now you can only get the Colorescience Endless Sunset Color Balm Collection as a set, but I suspect these will end up available individually as well like the previous collection. I also look forward to seeing what shades they come up with in the future!

Oh, what a pretty look on you! I’m not sure I would buy these because I would only use them on my cheeks, and though SPF 50 is great, it would just be on a small part of my face. However, I need to buy a new Colorescience brush on sunscreen for 2022
Those are so pretty, Claudia! I love that they contain such a high SPF!
