I haven’t covered PIXI Beauty in a while, but I recently caught wind of one of their latest product launches, which are bronzing sticks! I love a good bronzing product to add some warmth to the complexion and PIXI has always been a fun and accessible brand for me to play with.
What They Are
PIXI On The Glow Bronze moisture sticks are intended for quick and easy bronzing that doesn’t require any precision or tools. The flat and wide sticks are also multipurpose, lending color to lips and cheeks. They also have fruit extracts in the formula to provide some antioxidant protection to the skin. All PIXI beauty products are cruelty-free. Some products are vegan — these are not.
There are four shades of On-The-Glow bronzing sticks. They do say they should work for all skin tones but I feel it would be more accurate to say these are best suited for light to medium skin tones. I think they need a couple more shades for this to work truly for medium-dark-deeper tones or else it just makes skin look a bit glossier.
How It Applies
The stick doesn’t apply opaque which is helpful when learning how and where to apply the color. I have a more opaque stick from Fenty which isn’t as forgiving when you mess up. I do like that the on-the-glow sticks glide on the skin really well, just like their blush sticks!
I find the sticks pretty moisturizing. They may feel a little too slick on really hot days for some people but could be a great choice for those with normal-to-dry skin that could use some extra moisture. The formula also includes aloe vera to hydrate and soothe.
The shape of the stick initially makes you wonder if you’ll be able to apply it properly, but once you start using it you realize the long flat side is great for cutting cheek contours and framing your face. I could easily blend this out with my fingers if I choose, but I like to rely on my favorite brush for blending out up to my temples.
The Sticks On Light-Medium Skin
I am light-medium neutral-toned, so most of these sticks do work for me (in a way). BeachGlow, the darkest color, works just fine for contouring my face, as does RichGlow, the second darkest shade. In my video I demo using RichGlow. BeachGlow has a bit of a red undertone on me, but still works when layered with my blushes.
WarmGlow, which is a pink-brown sadly didn’t show up on my face well –and I was really hoping it would be a nice blush/bronzer combo color. The minute I blend it out it disappears so if I want it to show I have to wear it really heavily and I’d rather not. I could use this on my lips though as a lightly tinted balm.
The lightest shade, SoftGlow is actually more of a golden highlighter on me! Perhaps it’s a bronzer for my very fair friends but it does not create shadows or darkness at all for me. Quite surprising finding that out after swatching because I would have thought different from the swatches on their site! I would highly recommend looking up swatches similar to your skin tone if you are considering buying to make sure they will show up on your skin the way you want them to!
Where To Buy
Each stick runs around $18 and you can get them on the PIXI Beauty site, as well as in Target stores. If I were to purchase these, I would probably choose RichGlow which was the second darkest color so it would work for both winter and summer for me. Each stick will also last you a lifetime! No way you will use this up quickly — it’s got a lot of product, and only a little is used each time.

Do you think you could use these?
These are very pretty! I like the lighter pink ones for my complexion!
Hi, Claudia – These look wonderful and I’m impressed with the makeup brush from Target, too! However, I’m afraid to use this on my sensitive skin…I forgot all about using bronzer this summer. Lol! I have powder bronzers and like to stave off shine, but with dry mature skin I feel like cream bronzer might be worth the switch. I like your demo video. Bronzing sticks must be having a moment because I just received 3 from a new brand. I adore the pink one from Pixi – I would totally be using that one!
You’re right about them needing more shades for darker skin tones. I love it on you, tho!
