What I’ve Tried From Patrick Ta Beauty

I’ve been trying out quite a bit from Patrick Ta Beauty, and I thought it was about time I share a bit more about what I like and what I wouldn’t get again. PTB was created by famed makeup artist, Patrick Ta, and is exclusively sold through their website and Sephora. The packaging for the entire line is absolutely glamorous, with its extremely shiny and reflective metallics and soft glowy nude and rosy tones. If there is one brand that looks stunning on your makeup vanity, it’s this brand.

Major Dimension Eye Shadow Palette

The Eye Shadow palette was the very first thing I tried from Patrick Ta Beauty and it wowed me with its pigment. Super velvety mattes, metallics, pearls and even cream bases are all included in this warm-toned palette. The colors I see are golden champagnes, peachy and rosy shades to rich, deep browns. I must stress that it’s SUPER pigmented so it’s easy to go overboard but the colors are gorgeous and once you get the hang of working with extremely pigmented shadows, you’re good. This palette feels bigger than UD naked palettes.

This is a vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free product.

Major Skin Creme Foundation & Finishing Powder

I was really excited about this one and wrote about it when it came out. Sadly, I chose a color too light for my skin and it leaned dry looking on my skin as the day went on. This foundation is meant to produce a natural finish with medium coverage (i prefer dewy to natural). I did like how smoothly it applied with a brush but felt at times it left my skin looking more textured than I like, and I definitely didn’t feel the need to set it with powder and dry it out more. I also had breakouts at the time and this foundation does not sit well over healing blemishes. I think this foundation will do better with someone with oilier skin and less texture. The sephora reviews are all over the place on this one.

This is a vegan, cruelty-free, and fragrance-free product.

Major Sculpt Creme Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo

This was a big winner for me. I had tried a few other cream and stick bronzers but never felt that they looked natural or diffused enough to share about them. This though..this was perfection. The color is spot on for my complexion and doesn’t pull orange or muddy — and no shimmer. And the creme contour was so easy to work with (I use this brush or this brush, btw). It produces a natural finish and can be topped with the bronzing powder without looking like a mess. I’d buy this one again for sure. I use “she’s sculpted”.

This is a vegan, cruelty-free, and fragrance-free product.

Major Glow Highlighting Mist

I was really impressed with this highlighting product. It’s in spray form which is kind of scary a first, because you’re afraid you’ll paint your entire face with it by accident; but somehow I manage to use this very well. Major Glow Highlighting Mist comes in three sheer pearl shades that create the most beautiful glow on the skin. This is not your eye-blinding highlighter. It can be very soft and subtle and layered for more intensity. I love spraying my upper cheekbones and decollete, and sometimes my legs. I haven’t noticed any transfer on my clothes – maybe because of their sheer and subtle nature. I would definitely buy this again when it runs out.

This is a vegan, cruelty-free, and fragrance-free product.

Major Beauty Headlines – Double Take Creme & Blush

Super long name for a fabulous blush product. I just got the limited edition multi-blush palette but I haven’t tried them yet to speak about those in this blurb. This is regarding the single-shade palettes. I love the luminous finish I can achieve with this blush! The cream part is moisturizing, smooth, and pigmented and I can intensify with the power or use it to create a monochromatic look that can last all day. Patrick Ta suggests using the powder first and then the creme to top but that doesn’t make sense to me. I do it the other way around and like how it looks. I want to get the peachy coral color next, “Do we know her?”

This is a vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free product.

Major Volume Plumping Lip Gloss

What I tired when I ordered this? I think so because the description says tingly right there and I still ordered it even though tingly lip products and I do not mesh. This glossy gloss has a cushion to it, which I love. But it contains peppermint oil and cinnamon to trigger the plumping action and peptides work to support the skin barrier. I was able to tolerate the “burn” but I’m mad at myself for choosing something that stings and smells like cinnamon. I have the color 2CCs which is pink and does redden up the color of my lips. I think a light shade would have looked better and no tingle, please. At $24 a tube, I need it to be more agreeable with my lips.

This is a cruelty-free, and gluten-free product.

Monochromatic Moment – Precision Lip Liner

Pleasantly surprised with this mechanical pencil click-top lip liner. This was gifted to me and I immediately fell in love with the clicker. I received the shade “she’s proud” (neutral pink brown) and it’s the perfect, your-lips-but-better liner shade. Slightly darker than my lips to enhance the shape and intensify pigment where I want more gloss or lipstick to stick. It is matte, but comfortable for me. The angled tip is helpful in shaping the lips and the formula is very long-lasting on me. While it’s a beautiful pencil, I may need to see it in more colors to buy it. Some other brands that I use are half the price and work nicely too.

This is a cruelty-free, and gluten-free product.

Major Glow Face Gloss

While this looks absolutely gorgeous in the tub and on the skin when applied correctly, it’s not the most sensible product to use. Major Glow Face Gloss has the finest shimmering pigment in it to give a highlighting effect that would look sexy but it’s hard to keep it where you want it. I think you need to use very, very little of this product but it’s easy to use too much. This product is for someone who really likes a dewy, glass-like or glossy face. You have to want shine on your face — which I don’t mind! But I can only see me using this on certain occasions when I know I can touch up makeup easily. It works well on cheeks and down the nose, but not very well for glossy eyelids. I think I would have done better trying out the body balm instead of the face gloss.

This is a cruelty-free, and gluten-free product.

  • I should have read this before my Sephora sale order. Or maybe my husband wouldn't have liked that. This line does intrigue me. I'd love so many of these products.
