Multifunctional Beauty: Trending Products You Should Know About

Multifunctional beauty seems like a no-brainer and appeals to me more these days than it did in the past.  I don’t have the time for a “full face” look, so using products that can be used in multiple applications or multitasking skincare with makeup is a huge plus! I love added skincare benefits in the products that sit on my face most of the day. I’m 40 plus, so taking care of my skin is important to me, and if you’re reading this then it’s probably important to you too.

I’ve gathered together some of my favorite multifunctional beauty products that stand out to me in one way or another. Most of these I have been using for more than 2 years and some as long as 5+. They’re good, and they’re worth the buy if you can swing them. Let’s dive into my list

Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy

The ultimate eye protection and treatment

I’ve been using this for years and I can tell you it’s one of the best treatments for eyes on the market and hits all checks when looking for a good eye product. I need a product that’s going to conceal my dark under eyes. This uses color-correcting technology to balance those out. I also want sun protection for that delicate eye area and this offers mineral-based SPF35 protection while worn. It also has skincare in it like it’s a hydrating total eye complex that addresses fine lines and sagging skin. It comes in 4 shades. Yes, it may feel pricey but trust me the combination of all these products in one is amazing and I haven’t found anything to match it. I’ve also written about it here in the past.

Ogee Sculpted Complexion Stick

When you want light coverage with nourishing ingredients

(save with code: Claudia_15)

These lightweight nourishing tinted sticks even out the skin tone with their range of twenty mineral-pigmented shades. Each complexion stick is made with 70% organic ingredients and high-performing anti-aging components to keep the skin looking its best. Pracaxi Seed Oil and Patchouli Leaf Extract are mentioned specifically in their formula, which can improve skin elasticity and collagen production for better-looking skin underneath. These are great for a nice natural look and not for full coverage looks. I like to have multiple shades to work with.

Tower28 Sunny Days SPF 30

When you want medium coverage and SPF in one.

I used this daily all last Summer until I ran out. It was an incredible shade match for a mineral-tinted sunscreen. One of the best I’ve tried. The SPF30 level is sufficient for regular daily use and hides unevenness and imperfections just like a foundation does, all with a natural, slightly dewy finish. It can be worn more thin for light coverage but I feel this gives a really good medium coverage when you do very light layers of it. This is a great way to get your UVA/UVB protection while “wearing foundation” and won’t feel like a heavy sunscreen mask at all.

Lawless Forget The Filler Line Plumping Tinted Lip Balm

When you want sheer color and plumper lips.

Perfection in tinted lip balm form. I love the ones in squeeze tubes. But there is some satisfaction in swiping on a stick balm with a cushiony glide to it, that also treats the lips and has a little color to it.  I love tinted balms when doing a natural makeup look and I have the pink and cherry vanilla versions of these. Maxi-Lip, Rosehip Oil and Shea Butter condition the lips to create a plump look with some shine. There are currently 11 shades to choose from that are to die for. I want all of them!

Colorescience Sun Forgettable Color Balm

When you want your lip and cheek products to have SPF.

I thought these were the most innovative thing when they first came out. Mineral-based SPF balm sticks with tinted shades like makeup! Colorescience has released a couple sets of these already and now gives you the ability to create a custom set with colors of your choice. I love using these for monochromatic looks; they wear and apply so easily with brush or fingers. These tinted balm sticks will last you long. Even in the dry desert mine have held up well and I love that I’m layering sun protection on in the prettiest way possible. Colorescience has some of the best and most advanced mineral sun protection formulas out there and I have loved several of their products over the years.

In conclusion, I think multifunctional beauty products are doing well in meeting the contemporary consumer’s need (like mine) for simplicity, effectiveness, and adaptability in my skincare and makeup routines. Depending on the product it can be time-saving, money-saving, or simply versatile enough to have a real purpose and enhance one’s routine one way or the other.
