Dermorganic Color Care Collection

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogiliketotalkalot iliketotalkblog reviewIf you’ve ever colored your hair you know how beneficial it is to use the right products to keep the color vibrant and healthy looking. In my younger years I used to bleach my hair until it was like straw and never thought past using a deep conditioner every once in awhile to save my hair. Well, that ongoing abuse lead to severe hair breakage and me growing a mohawk in my teens that any girlfriend from high school would clearly remember. Now that I’m older and wiser, I look at every product I use on my hair and skin with a critical eye and while the classic line from Dermorganic has always worked great, the Color Care Collection is just what I needed.

I have a balayage that is almost grown out, but I’m still babying because I like the highlights that have lingered in the lower portion of my hair. The lightened ends are more prone to split ends, breakage and dulling since they’ve been chemically processed so using gentle products that offer additional protection are the first I grab for in the shower.

The Dermorganic Color Care Collection is vegan, cruelty-free, made with nourishing organic ingredients and includes UV protectors made from sunflower and grapeseed extracts to help keep colored hair shiny, moisturized and vibrant. It’s also free of sulfates, salts, sodium chloride and artificial preservatives while remaining pH balanced to keep the cuticle sealed for a reflective, shiny appearance.

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogSometimes sulfate-free shampoos lack in the lathering department but Dermorganic’s Color Care Sulfate Free Shampoo works up some good suds to clean hair and rinse away easily. The scent is fruity and delicious. I can’t quite put my finger on what the scent is, but I like it.

dermorganic color care collection review by iliketotalkblogI have very long, fine hair that always needs conditioning to keep it tangle free. I’m one of those people that wish the conditioner bottle was twice as big as the shampoo bottle. There’s just never enough! Luckily I don’t need to pile it on with Dermorganic.  Dermorganic’s Color Care Conditioner gives my hair a second dose of argan oil, lipids, rice amino acids, sunflower and grapeseed extracts while leaving it silky soft and easy to comb without tearing or causing further breakage. I also really love that the fruity scent continues to leave my hair smelling extra delicious.

Dermorganic’s 8-Way Thermal Spray works wonders to help in detangling hair while offering heat protection up to 450 degrees. It doesn’t stop there though; it also works to fight frizz, strengthen damaged hair and guard against day to day pollutants that dull our hair over time.  Just a few spritzes are needed to help keep my hair easy to manage, and I felt like it helped in blow drying my hair faster than I expected. My hair felt incredibly smooth after blow drying and kept me wanting to run my fingers through it for the rest of the day, even in hot, sticky So Cal weather.

Dermorganic Color Care products can be found at your local ULTA or found at their website and retail for $18 each in a generously sized bottle. To find out more about the brand you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram for tips, giveaways and hair inspo.

DermOrganic Hair Care

My shower is on product overload with the amount of shampoo and conditioners I get to try.  That may sound like a complaint, but really, I love having a selection to rotate through.  My fiance jokes that I have enough stuff to fill a small beauty supply store and I always tell him if he saw what other bloggers posted he would eat his words!

Since I colored my hair a few months back, I really make sure that I stick to sulfate-free options and hair treatments that will keep my color looking fresh and not dried out. I did some balayage when I moved to Orange County and my ends need extra care with all the heat styling I do.

Lately I’ve been on a DermOrganic kick.  I got a few of their products to test out and I am very impressed with the results. My hair feels nice, dries fairly quickly out of the shower, and has some shine. What else do you need, really?

dermorganic daily conditioning shampoo

I’ll start with the Daily Conditioning Shampoo first.  It’s sulfate-free so it doesn’t strip hair, and its made with facial cleansers that uses a special blend of EFA-Lipid and amino acids that nourish the hair and scalp. The formula also has Omega-6, Panthenol B5 and Rice Keratin to moisturize and strengthen the hair. Also,it can also be used as a body cleanser if you like to do the all-in-one thing as well.

What I noticed first about this shampoo is that is comes out very thick – practically like a body cream that doesn’t pour, but sits in your hand until it’s applied. So you’ll never have to worry about wasting product or it pouring out like crazy.  It also creates a good amount of foam for being sulfate-free which usually goes hand in hand. it also rinses well and doesn’t have an overpowering scent.

dermorganic intensive masque

The Masque Intensive Hair Repair Deep Conditioner worried me. My hair is fine and sometimes “intensive” hair masks leave my hair feeling heavy and flat–but not this one. DermOrganics Masque uses amino acids to repair and seal the cuticle of the hair, essentially filling in the cracks with amino acids and smoothing the hair from the inside out.  It is recommended to use the masque 2-3 per week and leave on for at least one minute to reap the benefits.  I actually have been using this every other day the past couple weeks and leave it on while I shave my legs.  I am happy to report that it has not weighed down and my hair still dries pretty quickly unlike some other masks I’ve used before. I do steer clear of my roots through, in fact I only put it on the “ponytail” portion of my hair to prevent that from happening (just in case).

This conditioning masque also pumps out real thick – thicker than I’ve seen with any traditional shampoos or conditioners, but I like it because it makes it easier to control application.

The next product that I’ve been using is the Leave-in treatment with Argan Oil. I absolutely LOVE the orange-y scent of this product.  On days that I skip conditioning and just shampoo I 100% rely on this to keep my hair soft and manageable.  The oil has a little thickness to it so it doesn’t pour out like crazy.  I use about a dime to nickel sized worth of product, rub it between my palms and then finger rake through my hair . I do not put near my scalp unless I am slicking back a bun or ponytail. I love the shine with this product though, it really does the job while making my hair feel healthy. The treatment is enriched with Omega-6, Lipids, Antioxidants and Vitamin E to restore moisture and seal the cuticle while helping protect it from thermal damage (hello, flat iron and curlers).

I can’t say I have any dislikes about the DermOrganic hair care line, it all seems to work for my long, color-treated fine hair.  Have you tried the DermOrganic line?  They also have skincare!
