I bought some things at Ulta recently when I saw they were having a sale. I don’t usually do big hauls at all, but I thought it would be fun to share some of the goodies I wanted to repurchase and new ones I grew curious about. So let’s get right to it!
Sun Bum Deep Conditioning Mask
I got this on a whim having never tried it before. I love the scent of Sun Bum products and I had a feeling this would be banana-licious. Guess what guys — it is!!! I haven’t done a deep conditioning mask in forever so I thought it would be a great time to do one. I wish this came in a tub or tube because I would happily buy this in a larger size than a big foil packet. The foil packet alone has given me 4 opportunities to use it, and aside from smelling amazing, it did make my hair very soft and silky and somehow made my hair drier straighter than usual. That’s a pretty big plus because my hair looks healthy and “done” without me doing anything to it. I’m not sure what banana peel and pulp do for my hair but I love it! If Sun Bum ever reads this, PLEASE make this into a bigger product! Purchase at Ulta
ColourPop Pretty Fresh Foundation
It’s becoming rarer for me to wear a foundation as I get older, and I tend to gravitate towards tinted sunscreens or tinted moisturizers. I like something that hydrates my skin and hopefully protects it in some way —which is why tinted sunscreens usually win overall, BUT… I’ve had my eye on ColourPop’s Pretty Fresh foundation forever. Pretty Fresh foundation boasts a hydrating formula that gives medium coverage and a natural finish. That seemed safe enough for me and their color range was good –even during the sale when I bought this. I chose a summer color for me, 85N, and unfortunately, it’s still too dark for me and quite honestly, did NOT look good on my skin alone. I tried it over a hydrating toner and serum and eventually decided to mix it with some of my more sheer tinted sunscreens to make it work. It’s a bummer that I picked something too dark, and I will use it from time to time, but I think I just really enjoy a look where my skin looks like I just put moisturizer on, and not “natural finish” which looks dry to me. E.l.f. Bite-Sized Face Duo
I’ve bought these before and talked about them not only on my blog but also on the My Beauty Bunny blog before. The eye shadow ones are good for people like me who don’t need lots of color options and can work well with a small palette. The slim design of the compacts makes them great for stashing in bags or for travel when you can’t carry a lot. I go nowhere (lol), but I do like that they don’t take up much space in my acrylic organizer. I would not buy these duos for the highlighters, I feel the highlighter can be grainy but the blush is perfection! I owned “white peach” before this one and it’s one of my favorite ones to wear! I plan to buy more shades in the future since so many would work well for me. Purchase at Ulta
Flower Beauty Petal Pout Lip Mask
I’ve never tried anything from Flower Beauty before, but now I definitely think I need to! These Petal Pout Lip Masks caught my eye with all the pretty neutral shades they carried. My lips could always use moisture and I like a sheer wash of color for my lips so I went with “nectar” which is a nude peach. The product looks like a thick lip gloss that gets pushed through these little holes as you twist the tube up. It has a yummy vanilla flavor to it which I enjoy (and makes me wonder if they all taste vanilla). Nectar is a bit light on my lips and can wash them out if I put too much on, but I still wear it and think it looks nice. My lips felt very nice using this product thanks to the mango and coconut butter, and it had me reaching for it throughout the day when I needed to reapply something to my lips. I’d like to get the more pink shades next time, Pucker and Smooch but could easily see myself using any of the six shades they have. Purchase at Ulta
SunBum Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30
Between my husband and I, we blast through lip balms pretty quickly. We keep a few in our kitchen fridge, some of them being Sun Bum. I’ve never tried the banana flavor and I’m guessing I was on a banana kick when I placed this order, but I can say that it is a super yummy flavor and I’m glad I have SPF 30 protection with this lip balm. This is a softer lip balm which is why we keep it in the fridge. Our home is pretty warm and our coconut one got a little messy at one point so the fridge is a great place to keep these. IROHA Nature Repairing Peach Foot Masks
I was introduced to IROHA through a PR mailer and loved them ever since! Their hand and foot masks make a noticeable difference in my opinion for dry hands and feet. I’ll admit I take much better care of my hands and nails than I do my feet so foot masks are always really nice to add in when I can remember to buy them. There are a few kinds but the peach ones have always been my favorite. I like these masks because they really do a good job of moisturizing, and leave your feet nice and clean afterward, unlike other oily/waxy kinds I’ve tried before. If I had to recommend one item out of this entire haul it would have to be this brand’s foot masks. My feet always look and feel better after using these. The other ones they make are extra soft argan, relaxing peppermint, nourishing cannabis hemp seed oil, and exfoliating lavender. Purchase at Ulta
TreeHut Shea Sugar Scrub
Tree Hut scrubs are a staple for me. I love using body scrubs, especially in the Summer months and I always enjoy the grit level of this sugar scrub. It’s tough in a good way for your body but I would not use it on my face at all! Also, you can always find them at a good price, they smell great and leaves my skin as smooth as I want it to be. This particular one that I picked is said to brighten the skin with its blend of grapefruit oil, vitamin C, and alpha hydroxy acid to exfoliate and replenish with shea butter and six other skin-loving oils. I’m not sure how much it will brighten but I am happy with it exfoliates! Purchase at Ulta
Overall, I’m happy with my purchases. I think the only one that really didn’t work out great was the foundation. Maybe when I match the color more in a month I might find a bigger love for it. The hair mask was awesome, and the lip mask was also an unexpected win as well. I hope you enjoyed this type of post – I can’t remember the last time I even did one. Have you done any recent shopping at Ulta, let me know what you got!
What great budget friendly purchases, Claudia! Well done!
I need to get the lip balm for my husband since he loses them constantly. He’ll be at a store and buy one. ONE! The man goes through one a week. So it will be my job to pick these up for him. I like that Tree Hut Sugar Scrub a lot. And I just noticed a Flower Beauty product peeking out of a drawer that I forgot about and now must use.
This was such a fun post. I haven’t been to Ulta other than to pick up something I ordered online in over a year. Your post is making me want to go and browse everything that you bought. I love banana fragrances so I must check out Sun Bum. The elf blush is a gorgeous shade. I need to check out the hand and foot masks. Well done!
