I don’t know about you guys, but I am TIRED by the end of most days. Working, taking care of a household, having kids and everything else makes for one exhausted lady at times but I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.

My work is not strenuous physically but I do start my days off with some pretty heavy activity and then settle into writing, replying to emails, and talking into a camera for hours on end per day. Sitting so much already causes issues for me (hey there, psoas, I’m pointing at you), and I know I can’t be the only one who could use a little relief.

Ultimately, getting up and moving around frequently can help offset all of this– but realistically, not all of us can do that with the type of work we do. So aside from trying to get up frequently and move around, drink my water and stretch a bit, there is something I found that helps quickly revive tired body parts and that’s Lather’s Cooling Leg Lotion.

Not only does this plant-based lotion do a great job of moisturizing as needed, but it also cools and soothes with the help of botanical extracts, essential oils, and an anti-inflammatory MSM (dimethyl sulfone). I had no idea what MSM was or why it was special until after when I researched. MSM is said to improve circulation and relieve pain and stress.

The more I researched it, it seems to help with a lot of things like acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea which I suspect is comforting for uncomfortable skin conditions. But how? MSM is a natural source of sulfur, something I have long known to treat acne due to its antibacterial properties, but I had no idea it could do anything else! I don’t understand the mechanics of it, so I’ll just have to roll with it — but a very interesting ingredient I plan to read up on more.

The lotion absorbs fairly quickly and doesn’t leave you greasy or sticky. Contrary to the product name, Lather’s Cooling Leg Lotion can be used anywhere (on the body) where you could use some soothing or cooling relief. I was recently bit up by some mosquitos and it helps stop the itch for a bit. The scent also helps perk you up mentally a bit too!

I’m mad at myself that I didn’t pull this out a month or two ago with our sweltering heat in Arizona, but can you imagine how good it feels on days that are over 100 degrees and your body is exhausted? Yeah. It’s pretty amazing. Peppermint already does a great job of creating that cooling sensation on the skin, but to pair it with MSM I think is an excellent choice for reviving tired limbs.

LATHER is a brand that does use essential oils in its products — if you read the founder’s story you would learn why it’s so important to her to use them and share the benefits of these ingredients in her products. I personally don’t know what most of the essential oils do in there, but the brand knows not everyone is knowledgeable in this and has an ingredient directory on their site so you can better understand.

I think this would a great gift for anyone you know that’s on their feet all day (think teachers, nurses), athletes, or people who sit all day at a computer and get stiff, like me. The price point I think is decent as well at $24 for 10 fl oz.

Other products I enjoy from LATHER are Coconut Creme Body Whip, Almond Shave Creme, Daily Defense Mineral Sunscreen, and  Honey Moisture Mask With Propolis

LATHER is leaping bunny certified cruelty-free, free of synthetic fragrances or color.
