Usually, I take longer to share about skincare products because we know skincare takes time to assess. Since the holiday shopping times are coming upon us quickly, I thought I would offer my initial thoughts on my one and a half-week trial with Biossance Miracle Moisture Set — the skincare set that I didn’t know I needed, but was so glad I was introduced to!
I had the luxury of sampling another set from Biossance a few weeks back — it was the limited edition Sunshine Set curated by Reese Witherspoon. It gave me a great idea of the brand’s quality and I was thoroughly impressed. It included a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t feel like sunscreen AT ALL, a luscious lip balm that I now own three tubes of, and their Squalane Rose Oil that feels luxurious as it absorbs into the skin. I knew from that set that I would probably enjoy this brand, so I took the opportunity to give this new one a go.
About Biossance
Biossance is considered a clean beauty brand that utilizes vegan-based squalane throughout its products. They’re vegan and cruelty-free, and they aim to use conscious/sustainable packaging choices for their products. They use no fragrance and formulate using ingredients with our planet in mind — keeping things sustainable and using renewable sources where possible.
The Set
The Miracle Moisture Set contains four products, a serum, an eye cream, a moisturizer, and a full-sized facial oil. The Squalane Rose Oil alone is valued at $74 and this set costs $73 so you’re making out with free products here! Also, this is a limited edition — so after reading this, if it sounds good. Grab them while you can because I anticipate a value set like this to go faster than normal.
The smaller products (the serum, eye cream, and moisturizer) are a bit on the small side compared to the full-sized product — however, there is ample product in everything to give you a very good idea of how everything should work for your skin. I do wish the cardboard box wasn’t as deceiving of its size. There is a teeny tiny note that the oil is full-sized but not the others.
The Serum
I was really excited to try the Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum, and have had my eye on it from previously scanning their site. This serum is meant to provide long-lasting hydration to dry, dehydrated skin (perfect, because Winter dries me out more!)
Hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid, and squalane work together to hydrate and plump the skin, While copper peptides (which give this serum its blue color) boost collagen production.
It says you only need one drop, but I find myself using 2 or 3 for it to feel like enough to apply to my entire face. I do like how hydrated my skin feels, but I still like to pair it with a hydrating serum or vitamin C product depending on if it’s evening or morning.
The Eye Cream
I feel like eye creams can only do so much for me and my dark circles. I have some wrinkles and my mobile lids are becoming a little more…..mobile if you will! My biggest issue is dark circles and hydration and I’ve come to accept concealer will always be a BFF of mine.
While the Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream did nothing for dark circles, it did offer a serious boost of hydration to an otherwise extremely dry part of my face. The marine algae have a peptide complex to help firm the skin which my eyelids need help with, and the fine lines around my eyes are hydrated to the max to minimize their appearance.
I like how this cream absorbs quickly, and I can apply it all over my eyes without any irritation. I do find this cream (and the reviews on their site) promising and will continue with this eye cream until it runs out. It has a nice silky feel to it and had no issues with makeup sitting on top of it.
The Moisturizer
I quickly became a big fan of their Squalane + Omega Repair Cream moisturizer. The texture is similar to FAB’s collagen cream. It’s thick but airy and comforting and moisturizing. Hyaluronic acid plumps the skin while Squalane deeply moisturizes. Ceramides and fatty acids work hard to repair the skin barrier and lock all the goodness in where it’s needed.
My skin feels so smooth when I apply this over the serum, just like silk. Your skin will look dewy with this moisturizer but I do mind! Bring on that moisture! I’ve been using this one day and night for a week now and want to stretch out this jar as long as possible.
Final thoughts
I’ve previously shared about the facial oil before, so if you want to read about it, click here. I’ve only used this a week but I can tell you the textures are inviting and I really like how silky and moisturized my face feels when I use the full set. I think the box is a great value but I would fix the picture on the front that makes it look like all the same-sized products. However, the price does reflect a VERY good deal!
This set would be a great gift for someone who loves skincare. Interested in brands that have sustainable/ eco-friendly efforts, and have dry skin. If you want to consider shopping Biossance, I was given a discount code to share with you guys:
I adore Biossance skincare, and this discovery set is a great way to start. What a good holiday gift it would make!
What a wonderful gift set! I really want to try that facial oil!
The price on this set is amazing. I’m not sure about the fragrance of Biossance so I’d love to smell it.
