The new year is finally here — are you ready for it? December was very busy for me. I know I felt ready to have some rest time with my family for a much overdue recharge. I don’t necessarily set new intentions for the year ahead, but usually, refine my original ones that have become pretty strong since becoming a mom. Basically, trying to live a happier, healthier, cleaner lifestyle that I can model for my kid.
Whether you set new years resolutions, or intentions, or keep on, keep onin’, I think we all enjoy that beginning of the year renewed energy to put toward our goals. Some common ones that I think we are familiar with are:
Wanting to eat better.
This is something that even I work on and get better and better at each year. You pick up on new things. Your taste refines. That’s not to say that we don’t like to indulge sometimes, but it can cause an upset stomach when we do. I know using digestive enzymes was something that I’ve used over the years to help with better food digestion. I’ve tried a few brands but recently switched to Hum Nutrition Flatter Me when I finished another recently. Hum Nutrition Flatter me provides a blend of 18 full-spectrum digestive enzymes to better break down foods and reduce bloat. You’d be surprised how much better you can feel if you prepare ahead and take one capsule before a meal
Flatter me also includes ginger and peppermint leaf which are also known to help with digestion and fennel seed which supports better nutrient absorption. Hum Nutrition is formulated by RD Nutritionists and they have a huge variety of supplements to help support our overall wellness. Interested in trying Hum Nutrition Flatter Me? Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!
I live in Arizona, so I’ve gotten considerably better at drinking water to stay hydrated — but honestly. Sometimes plain water isn’t enough. Adding electrolytes into the mix can help your body stay hydrated better and can replenish minerals that our body loses in other ways. Getting the right amount of electrolytes can make a world of difference in how you feel, and if you exercise, you might find you can last a little longer because you’re better hydrated!
I’ve been on the hunt for an electrolyte drink mix that tastes good without added sugar or calories and I was floored by how delicious the Ultima Broad Spectrum Electrolyte Mix Sampler pack was! Having something to flavor my water with helps me with water intake so much, but it will help better hydrate my body so I can avoid dehydration headaches.
Ultima makes electrolyte mixes as well as collagen + electrolyte supplements. They only use plant-based colors and flavors and are non-GMO. Their website has a bunch of fun recipes to try that I’ve got my eye on! If you want to give Ultima a try, use code: BABBLE20 FOR 20% ends 1/31/23. I was so excited for these I went ahead and purchased the tropical flavors variety pack so I can try more!
Cleaner products in the home.
When I had my daughter, I started to look at the products I used more closely. Was it safe for the baby or me? I always had an interest, but now it was stronger. Over the years I’ve made swaps to products that I felt were more aligned with my choices, and I was happy to stumble upon a brand called Erin’s Faces, a conscious beauty brand that’s been around since 2011.
One comment swap to make in the home is to switch to non-petroleum based products. Erin’s Faces Tamanu Balm is a barrier salve that everyone can use in the home for minor scrapes, cuts or skin irritations. It’s one of those “has a million uses balm” due to its ingredient properties. Organic Tamanu oil is famous for it’s wound-healing abilities, and is thought to boost collagen and moisturize the skin. Organic Safflower oil is anti-microbial and high in antioxidants and beeswax acts as a protective barrier for the skin. This balm smells almost maple syrupy naturally and melts into the skin nicely. It also comes in a straight oil form too.
Erin’s Faces carries both skincare and makeup products using carefully selected ingredients and is Peta certified. Want to give Erin’s Faces Tamanu Balm a try? Use code: TAMANUBALM for 10% off
Take better care of your skin.
So you probably think I have a great skincare product lined up for this one, and I kind of do. It’s actually a supplement, but it’s a really cool one that has been clinically proven to help your body generate and protect collagen, elastin, and keratin, and is backed by over 25 years and 20 million of research! ! I’ve been taking BioSil Liquid Capsules for a couple of months now and I’m glad I did because I can tell it’s helped my nails grow out a bit healthier than usual.
These tiny liquid capsules are going to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, improve the elasticity of the skin, and strengthen hair and nails noticeably. It’s completely vegan, non-GMO, and sustainably sourced. I’m excited to see how this product helps my hair and skin since I trust that it helped my nails. Interested in trying Biosil Liquid Capsules? Protect against illness.
So it may not be a new years resolution type thing, but let’s all agree we have a heightened awareness about germs in the last few years? PlaneAire has some really great travel-type products that can clean surfaces, hands, and air with the help of six organic essential oils.
I don’t travel a whole lot, but I do love the convenience of the smaller-sized products in the PlaneAire Travel Essentials Kit. It includes a gel hand sanitizer that leaves your skin feeling soft. A Surface and Air Mist is a plant-based blend that can be sprayed anywhere to freshen and deodorize areas, and surface wipes which can be used on handles, doors, keys, phones, you name it!
It all comes in a cute compact zipper type bag and can be broken up into different bags of yours or even kept in the car! Grab yourself a set! Interested in PlaneAire Travel Essentials? Use code: iliketotalk for 10% off entire cart. Ends 2/1/23.
I’m really excited to keep up things with Biosil, and so happy I was introduced to some new brands! Especially ones that really take a closer look at the ingredients they use. Are you familiar with any of these? I’d love to hear if anyone has given them a try before!
