Iris Romeo Weekend Skin Warm Glow review by iliketotalkblog

If you’ve been following this blog, you know I love a glowy complexion. I think it looks beautiful and healthy, and it’s generally the look I aim for. Iris & Romeo launched a new sunscreen earlier this year that not only offered SPF50 protection but included skin-brightening actives, in a glowy formula. Weekend Skin sounded like just the thing I needed to try.

There are two versions of weekend skin, one is simply a sheer mineral formula, and the second, Warm Glow has an added hint of warmth to it.  Since it is a mineral SPF, the formula includes zinc which offers UV protection and soothes the skin. It also contains stabilized time-release vitamin C (ascorbyl glucoside) to help fade hyperpigmentation, support collagen production and neutralize free radicals for healthy aging skin. Niacinamide was also added to help even tone and texture for an overall fantastic skin-enhancing product.

The formula itself has a tinted tan with a hint of pink or peach color to it, but it does sheer out when you blend it. It will definitely add a hint of “just kissed by the sun” color if you are fairer, but it is a sheer formula – just be sure to blend well.  I myself am light/medium and love how it looks on my skin. It adds luminosity without a dewy feeling.

You need to be mindful of the other skincare products you use because if you have extra hydrating serums underneath it may not dry down as fast. Make sure to give each step time to set on your skin.  The formula does dry down a touch after application which is nice so you can either move on to applying foundation or stick with a clean girl no makeup look. I have tried and enjoyed using it both ways.

Weekend Skin has worked great as a primer underneath a few foundations I’ve tried (Makeup By Mario, Bobbi Brown), although you cannot reapply it if you wear foundation so you will need to plan ahead since they recommend reapplying within 2 hours.

The packaging is simple, functional and easy to use, and keep clean. It’s also made with 60% recycled plastics and the outer packaging is 100% post-consumer recycled paper. I also don’t smell any fragrance, the product itself just smells light, fresh, and botanical to me.

I find Weekend Skin a great multi-tasker if you want to combine some of your skincare steps all into one product, saving you time and possibly money. It functions as SPF, and as a makeup primer, and also has active skincare ingredients to treat the skin.  I enjoy the finish and tint it provides, and like it as a no-makeup day product to use.

Weekend Skin is available at Credo or Iris&Romeo . Cost $50
